Amazing Butler and customer service
Beautiful resort. I stayed in the Adults Only area and would recommend it for anyone traveling without children it is newer. Also if you want a nicer room upgrade to the master suite instead of the junior suite. The Master is more updated. Thank you to my butler Rafy who was amazing and always made me feel special for my birthday weekend. He took care of my and my friends and anticipated all of my needs. Fednon Cherenfant was also super great he was one of the 1st people that I met when checking in and always willing to help and take care of me and my guests. All of the employees are great.. I literally wish I could bring them home with me. Lol except Nathaniel or Johnathan who was the 'manager'on duty at the Mexican restaurant on 1/18/20. The service was horrible I asked for the manager. The manager acted liked he didn't speak english and I asked for his name and he told me Johnathan...even though his nametag said Nathaniel🤷♀️ Opportunity for improvements: -I think there should be a seperate entertainment area or nights for adult only shows or on the adults only side. The only adult only entertainment was the Disco (the xlib) and the music there was not all that great but it was something to do. -In the club there should definitely be drinks included ESPECIALLY for VIP customers. I didn't like that I literally had to leave the club for a free drink from the outside bar and then went back to the club to dance. -Issues during stay that were outside of the employees control: Lack of water the 1st 2 days of my trip. On the 1st day the water was out from the time I checked in at 3pm to the next morning. So even in the Marketplace restaurant there was NO water when we ate dinner🙄. Then on the 2nd day when I returned from an excursion the water was out for about 30 mins.
My family and I are Lifestyle Holidays Members. We purchased our timeshare in Puerto Plata Cofresi. This hotel in Punta Cana is nothing like Cofresi. It is old, unkempt, dilapidated. We are supposedly VIP members but we were treated like garbage from beginning to end. Even booking the trip, which we did in october/november; a day before our arrival the hotel called me to tell me that they undercharged me by over $500 and that if I did not pay my reservation would be canceled. A day before the trip is when they decided to notify me of this and threaten that I would not have a place to stay. This was so inconsiderate and unprofessional. The should have notified me is october, november, december or even beginning of January. The food was horrible. The variety was pathetic. Everything was rice, plantains and chicken. We paid $95 per day per adult and half that for each child and there wasnt any type of seafood other than a dry fish at the buffet area. We went to the seafood specialty restaurantswhich was also devoid of seafood, all the food was in a seafood broth that taste like dirty turtle tank water and rotten fish. The Mexican restaurant also wasnt pleasant, the red snapper was neither red nor snapper and the crab was imitation crab meat- so foul, so deceptive. The brazilian restaurant was just ok. The entertainment at night was over sexualized, not family friendly, not kid friendly, and down right nasty. So uncalled for. Everything is an extra fee, not even the pool table or airhockey was free. The people selling excursions constantly harassed up while we were trying to relax on the beach and by the pools trying to get us to purchase an excursion, even on the VIP section of the beach. we paid for 2 people to stay the day on a Day Pass and the security wanted to kick our guests out of the VIP beach. Only after fighting with them did they speak to a manager who confirmed they were our guests. So embarrassing and degrading. The rooms are so basic and in need of extensive repairs. Our phone didnt work the entire time. At check out the staff claimed we racked up about $100 in premium wifi charges. They checked all of our cellphones for the IP addresses and only found 1 phone with $10 worth of charges but still insisted that we pay $100. we were only there for 5 days and they claimed that one of us was logged into WIFI for 7 days. This was clearly a scam and attempt to steal our money. Ultimately we fought and argued and only paid $10 but this was the way our trip ended. From start to finish it was a nightmare. We feel cheated, such a waste of money. Lifestyles needs to affiliate with a different hotel in punta cana this place is trash. The women who clean the rooms are very hard working and through.
Fun for everyone
I stayed in Jan 2020. I really enjoyed my stay even though the wind was really bad all week, and most flags on beach were either yellow or red, except for 1 day. The beach at the be Live for me was a disaster. The water was totally grey, even on good days. Not inviting and my kids never went in. If the beach is important I suggest the 2 resorts next door ( dreams and Blau). Blau Natura Park's beach was really amazing, always clear blue and smooth white sand. Not sure if it is the marina or docks in front of the BE Live... but I you don't mind a 15 minute walk there is a nice quiet beach past the last resort (Blau) and it is amazing and really nice sand. The food was great, at the main buffet but there are no themes ( ex Asian, Mexican, etc). if there were themes it was not clear and not advertised, but there were changes to the menus, always found something new to try. Our room was at the end of the resort, block 15 and rooms were very large and really nice, very quiet, and spacious. We did have very noisy neighbours that we heard in the adjoining room.. making noise at 2am. We borrowed a room in block 6 (for an extension due to a flight delay), ground floor and the room smelled terribly musty. Was really glad to have not had this small, sad room... Our expectation in choosing Be Live was great entertainment / animation, and that aspect was above and beyond, by far. At night there are always shows, but there are pre-show live music, activities, dancing, contests. The animators are really nice and the kid club ( code name Peppa) are awesome. I think this place is well suited for a very wide range of clients, whether you want peace and quite (especially on the vip section) or you want to have a lot of fun. The drinks are average, and you cannot have the nice drinks at the lobby. only at the various bars around. There are many pools at this resort, but the main pool is where the action is and where most people stay, and you have to reserve a place quite early, as it is packed. All other pools are for quiet. The main pool is very shallow which I did not like, but felt safe leaving my kids all day with no worries. There is a long rectangular swimming pool near block15 for avid simmers. All and all a great stay. Great staff
Ok place, incredible staff
My week at the Be Live was a special one as there was lots of wind and rain. But let me tell you about the positives that the hotel could control. : the animation at this hotel is incredible. I don't participate much but I enjoyed very much watching it. Also, there was another pool that was very quiet so you didn't have to stay in the noise and animation. My kids are 7 and 9 and they loved going to the kids club, the monitors there were awesome, especially Peppa who entertained them and had activities for them if they wanted to participate. Thank you so much for everything Peppa! We were traveling with my parents also and they were able to book our rooms just one door apart. So it was very easy to get together all the time. We did go to 2 a la carte restaurants and it was very good, especially the japanese/tepanyaki that was excellent and the chef really fun ( unfortunately, I dont remeber his name but he was at the back grill) and the server Pablo was also very nice. And our maid, Santa, always made nice arrangements in our room. The kids were eager to see were their Teddy bears would end up in the room as she did include them in it. For the negatives, the beach was not nice since it is next to a marina and there is a lot of boats around. Although they did maintain it so there was a decent amount of algae. The food at the buffet was inconsistent as it was sometimes really good and other times not so much. But we were able to eat well. We did not book as VIP, and some things were not mentionned as only for them. So not very fun to get turned around for a place setting or a drink. When I know it is for VIP, i dont even go there so annoying to be told off without warning. Last thing is the main pool. It is old and a bit slimy at places. They do try to maintain it because i did see the crew working early morning but it needs a makeover. So, in all, it was an ok place. It did have very nice features but it was mainly because of the staff. It is a party place and although the kids had fun, i always was weary about the drunk young people and their actions. Our room in block 15 was quiet and it was one of the farthest ones in the resort but close to a quiet pool and bar.
New Company in Older Resort
Pros: they did everything in their power to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Our butler in the VIP section was very welcoming and took care of us. The dinner restaurants were FABULOUS. We loved the Brazilian & Japanese. Dinner in the main buffet was good too. The VIP pool was quiet and relaxing with the large beds. Drinks were cold and weather was beautiful! Cons: the main pool needs a major facelift (The underside of the bridge across was falling apart). Also it appeared that the adults only side wasn’t finished yet, but almost (it looked beautiful)! Also the breakfast buffet was a bit too exotic for my liking. The mattress on our bed was harder than a park bench. Finally, I felt like everyone was trying to sell us something (art, jewelry, timeshare). Will be staying on the adults only side if we come back!
