    royal holiday scam

i can't believe that the resort owners accept Royal Holiday club to operate in the resort. this was our very first trip and we were under the impression that we were meeting with the hotel members to explain the resort rules. Next thing you know we are buzzed on mama wana and we have signed a 15 year contract for 10k. We were told that we could cancel anytime not to worry and a whole bunch of other lies. shame on this resort for not protecting their guests NEVER EVER AGAIN We are not wealthy people and now we are stuck paying into this scam for 15 years and prob will never be able to afford another vacation. this resort is a constant reminder of how we were fooled into a false dream - I will never forget this resort and will always tell people not to go for as long as I live.

No air conditioning anywhere. Enough said!

I'm totally convinced that TripAdvisor is fake now. I wrote a review about this resort last year, and it has not been submitted by their approval process yet! This is my second time writing this review about his awful "resort". We stayed here for one week with 35 people. Ages 5-60 years old. We paid thousands of dollars, just like we would have at other similar resorts. Yes, seaweed is a problem when we went, but that isn't something they can easily control. The pool itself is just ok. Servers are friendly and everyone is very nice and helpful. That is probably the only reason I even can give them one-start. There are mosquitoes everywhere!!! I don't know what they can do to control the population here, but it's awful. The rooms are very large yes, I admit. It was a very, very far walk from some of the houses to the beachfront. I was lucky my room was pretty close to the water, but others weren't so lucky and spent a lot of time waiting around for the shuttle buses to come back and forth. I stayed there in July, which was pretty busy, but the shuttle buses didn't run as often as they should!! The rooms are luxurious and nice, but I was unlucky to get the room that the air wasn't working properly! I asked them to come fix it three times, and each time they said it was "fixed". Yeah right. The food there is god awful. Every single restaurant had the same thing! They repeated the same things from the buffet, to the Chinese restaurant, to the steak house. I've been to so many resorts an all-inclusive resorts in the carribbean and this is by far the lowest on my list. The casino is a joke. It was literally a small room with a few machines. I didn't even bother coming back. The only reason we even went to the Chinese restaurant, was because it was the only one that had air conditioning. My group got food poisoning from there as well. The seafood restaurant by the pool, I forgot the name, was the worst. They completely forgot our food order, and they some of us waited close to 1.5 hours for our dishes to come out! Totally unacceptable and ridiculous. There is absolutely NO WIFI availble here. Even in the lobby area it was sketchy to find signal. We tried 10 different times, to get the modem to get internet access, never. Each time, they said they don't have any left. What????? You know we are willing to pay for the signal, but we can't even get it?? Even the cheapest resorts in Asia have free wifi!! I've been to other resorts in the Dominican that have free WIFI on the beach!!! The entertainment is awful. I mean they tried, they really tried, but even with my kids they found it to be so boring. There are only a few shows at night, and it's so hot that you can't even sit and enjoy them. There is no air conditioning throughout the entire resort!!! You are stuck watching a terrible show, in the hot and humid weather, drenched in sweat. I don't understand what kind of resort doesn't have air conditioning!!! Yeah, ok open air-concept, but what about those of us who don't want to be drenched in sweat every night??? I would never, ever come back to this resort. Does management even read the reviews?? Or do they pay Tripadvisor to take them off?

    A week of paradise!

No complaints! Well taken care of and lots of fun. Definitely would go back. Very peaceful and clean. Didn’t like the vendors in the lobby botherering you, but after first experience with them you learn who to ignore.

Good for the price, pretty beach

The food sincerely exceeded my expectations. I went on May and heard that they were going to renovate the Hotel, great because the suites were very old and smelled like mold. The beach was very pretty and lovely. Never used the pools. Which I dislike was that a lot of guys approach you trying to get you to sign into a platinum membership. They had uniforms from the hotel and was very annoying. hopefully you improve that. Pretty gardens and location. Most staff is friendly. No wifi on rooms.
