We really enjoy the property and layout with beach and pool! The staff is always friendly. Shout out to Juan Montejo is the best always smiling and greeting us. He always remembers us and goes above and beyond to accommodate our needs! He is a great guy we really enjoyed him ! Cant wait to return.

Come here if you trying to save money and be cheap. The service is is below average. The Mexican food here is the worst. Agave restaurant was horrible. If you have not traveled to many places outside of USA you might be impressed with this. If you travel to many places in Asia that is a 5 star review, this would be considered 1 star.

Juan Montejo is so professional, courteous, and kind. Our trip just would not have been the same without him. Juan is such a hard worker that he took the time to wait at our room while we completed our tasks in registration. I highly recommend his services at the Barcelo Maya Riveria !

Our stay from start to finish was average. The beach it nice. As are the pools. The service we received wasn’t the best. Started with check in. Arrive at 12. Room told to be ready at 3… Left bags with bell desk saying they would be brought to the room. Our room finally ready at 4pm. No bags when we got there. Made a call at 5 pm. Asking about bags. Said they would bring them. By 6 pm I went down to grab the bags myself (very long walk). Wasn't a great start. The food at the buffet is very mid. Bland and all looked like day old stuff that wasn’t fresh. Best part of this place is the beach and pools where we spent most of our time. I’ve stayed at A few Barceló’s and this was at the bottom of the list. The one in Punta Cana is by far better, friendlier staff, and cheaper. Will head that way next time.

Making a reservation for dinner is ridiculous when including friends and family. Had to call 3 times to get the air conditioner turned down. Food is good and rooms are very nice.
