Two Days In
We are currently staying in the Caribe in the Sayil building. I’ll write another review at the end of the trip and hope it’s different from this one. So far, on both days some of the very basic expectations have not been met- keys that don’t work in the doors, 2 days of no towels available at the pool, no toilet paper in several public washrooms and many empty food trays at the buffet - no bacon, fillings for omelettes, guacamole. The sheets in our room have stains that haven’t come out in the wash. One of the bathrobes has a stain that looks like old blood. I asked for a new bathrobe but so far no one has brought one. The others in our group of friends all had a bottle of tequila in their room but we didn't. Of course, it’s beautiful here and we’re lucky to be here but rectifying these basic, simple things would go such a long way. Four days to go- I hope things change.

Best time of my life! Sergio, Monica, ira, y Paola made friends with everyone and got everyone involved at the pool activities. 10 out of 10 would recommend! Very friendly and energetic! Will be back soon!
Best resort we've been to
We have been travelling (as a couple, as a family) across the Carribean for a number of years. This is by far the best resort we've come to. Food - delicious. Rooms - perfect, constantly clean, tons of Tv channels, not a single complaint. Beach always had so much seating I was sure the resort must be half empty (it was not). Loved the onsite strip mall and sports bar, was a real highlight of our evenings. Disco was fun. The resort overall is modern and beautiful and incredibly clean. A la cartes were all delicious and gourmet. Have never been anywhere with so few "cons" - the only one I can note is that the night shows were nothing compared to Dominican/Cuba, but I can live without these. It was absolute paradise and we will probably return with our kids in the future.
Amazing Beaches and beautiful pools. It was never crowded and easy to get a chair at both. Overall, however, the resort was a disappointment. Mostly for the food choices and lack of any daytime ala carte options. We could not get a drink until 11AM, could not even get a Bloody Mary or Mimosa with breakfast. We spoke to people staying at other resorts and this was not the case with them, we were told it was a new law. Having upgraded our room we were expecting something much more luxurious and cleaner. The staff were unable to understand even our simplest requests and we did the best we could with our Spanish. We understand that we were in a different country, but it was hard to even get a Margarita the way we wanted it. We did not feel very welcomed from the daily staff and smiles were hard to come by. Two of our party became ill about half way through the trip.
So the surf in Barcelo was great it was fun the price was good for a weekly pass that aloud you to go boarding and the water park all day for 60$ for a full week I rate it five stars because it’s true. The people that work there are nestor alin Brenda Johnny Irvin. The people were really nice workers
