Feb 04, 2026Good Luck Finding a Chair at the Beach or Pool if up after 6am
If you are up past 6 am there are no chairs by the pool or beach. You should really consider labeling your chairs with the room numbers people pay for. This way, everyone who pays for a room at the Barcelo will be guaranteed a place to sit/lay at the beach and pool. The room had thin walls too and you could hear music at night past 12am. The beach was beautiful and the hotel is situated in an ideal area for shopping and restaurants.

The staff was awesome - except housekeeping. Hard time getting towels - never a washcloth and hand towels were sporadic. Had to call for a full set at the end of the day (housekeeping did not replenish) took 3 hours. the rest was typical of an all inclusive. Overall had a great experience. Convenient to everything. The Jewelry store was the best - Jerry was great!!! Bell staff, front desk staff, reservations -and the bar staff were all exceptional. Would stay again

Staff goes above and beyond to say the least. Hudson may be a walking angel with how compassionate, hardworking, and engaging he is with each and every person he interacts with. As a Nursing Home Administrator myself with a graduate degree in Geriatrics I was ASTOUNDED at his gift with engaging with elderly residents, some with dementia. The respect he shows to not just everyone but elders is truly a gift that cannot be bought and his energetic uplifting personality that just wants to make everyone around him happy restores faith in humanity. Cherie in housekeeping is also a gem to say the least. Her work ethic is astounding, and her ability to do her job goes above and beyond her job description. Marta is also extremely hardworking and friendly. I love how willing and committed staff are to communicating with you even through language barriers. Jade at the front desk should be a manager or supervisor if she isn’t already. I saw her make magic happen when she didn’t think anyone was watching and appreciated everything she did more than she knows. Staff truly make the entire vacation and Barcelos mission statement should definitely be “teamwork makes the dream work” because they made ours come true! Thanks for all you do!

Fantastic!
Had a wonderful time!! The food was delicious, the wait staff was fantastic. Melvin and the girls were all so much fun, even brought me a cake and sang Happy Birthday! Would recommend to everyone.

Fun resort
Great location and a fun resort! Best restaurants are the italian (ask for Simeon, he was fantastic) and the Mexican ( ask for Gerard and Rodell. They were outstanding!). Pool was fun. Pool and beach chairs are a pain in the butt to get. Rooms are fine. Staff for the most part are friendly and helpful.
