    95% perfect.

#1. First I want to thank “ THE” entire STAFF!! These folks are excellent; from the front desk, cooks and wait staff, the trolly drivers, grounds keepers to the plumber ( who we had occasion to meet); these folks are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, funny and go far beyond anything we have experienced elsewhere. A special shout out to our dear “Susanna” server, at the all day buffet. We would have gladly taken her home to Prince Edward Island Canada with us, but I doubt she’d like the weather. Seaweed is raked up throughout the day and wheeled away, it wasn’t an issue at all. And there was “no odour”. The food was excellent, and easily accessible all day long, in any and all locations. The resort is extremely well appointed, and huge; with lots to see and do, and maintained in pristine condition. Our room was very nice, and very well kept. The ever present wildlife is a delight. The entire resort is a twitter with beautiful tropical birds and their songs. Iguanas roam free, there are quite a few of them. Capybara’s, Long ringed tail Raccoons, and the odd stray cat, come out in the evening. The roadway’s cut gently through the jungle lead you from one magnificent and beautiful building to the next. There are numerous beautiful statues (indoors and out), dotting the landscape; the paved paths make it easy to get around; and are a source of entertainment “in and of themselves” especially at night, when the canopy is up light. The beach is long and their’s no shortage of shaded Tiki huts or lounge chairs. The place is perfect until you hit the water line, then the hard and rough limestone bottom is treacherous, it does not make for a great swimming experience.

    One More Time SK 04/24

Having visited the Bahia Resort over the past 23 years, we were not disappointed when we chose the Sian Ka’an adults only resort. Not necessarily my personal favourite but it did not disappoint. This complex is basically our ‘second home’ , which says alot for the staff. It’s definitely the people that keep us returning to the Bahia. From the managers to the gardeners, they are amazing. So many friends over the years and so many still at the resort complex. All four hotel complexes are maintained by amazing staff and SK is no exception. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to visit this area and make the acquaintances that we have made over the years. Though it was a short visit, we had a wonderful time, allowing us to visit with our friends and make new friends at the hotel. Being a luxury and adults only, it is very quiet and the solitude was gratefully received. Food selection at SK is slightly better and appreciated, together with the alcohol selection. Amazing Bartenders…. I might add . Nothing is perfect in this world however, if you don’t enjoy yourself at this Bahia (all 4 hotels) then you are doing something wrong. Again, I won’t name names of the staff for fear of forgetting one or two. They are all wonderful…Managers, Guest Services, Reception, Wait Staff, Bartenders, Maids, Mini bar staff, Gardeners…everyone. So relax, enjoy and have a great vacation. One thing…don’t sweat the small stuff.

Beautiful multi resorts, restaurants, and beach.

Reserve your À la cart dinners a bit in advance or you’ll be eating T the Buffet. Also make sure to have your free transfer confirmed because it’s hard to correct it. The transportation between resorts was nice and the different resorts were different enough to feel the variety

    Bahia Sian Kaan Review

My review We booked our trip based on reviews indicating it was a luxury accommodation. Luxury is a bit of an overstatement. Overall we had a great vacation. The evening entertainment was top notch. All of the staff were very attentive. We had a junior suite. The room was very large but very dated. It was cleaned daily but for a luxury accommodation I expected more attention to detail. Also the towels were a little rough, a little fabric softener would be amazing. The fridge was stocked daily. We did not use our deck to sit out, only to dry our towels and swimwear. The pools were very nice and it was very easy to find seats without leaving towels early in the morning. One issue I had was the pool that had the entertainment was the furthest from the washrooms. The sian kaan section of the beach was very nice. It was never an issue getting there. The trolleys went every 10 minutes. Also it was great having access to the other properties while at the beach. My biggest struggle for the week was the food. Yes there was lots to choose from but for a luxury hotel the food was definitely below standard. It is the first vacation that by day 5 I was ready to go home. Booking for ala cartes was difficult as there were no available times. Which was surprising because the first one we went too was not close to being full. We were only able to book 2 out of 10. On the bright side I am going home a few pounds lighter. This is not our first Bahia Principe experience. We have stayed at Tulum, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana, and the SK is not even comparable to the other properties. I would hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. I definitely would not come back. Would choose Tulum or akumel but not this one. It would seem that the repeat visitors bracelet get “special” treatment, based on the bracelets they wear, however first timers do not so we are not motivated to sing the praises of the resort. The difference in treatment is so obvious. I totally understand that repeat customers should absolutely have extra benefits, but it should not be that first timers get a lower standard of treatment. We paid more than $6000 for the two of us to come here for 10 days. I don’t believe that we should have to lower our expectations after paying that much money. We thought a trip that cost that much would be above our expectations. It was not. This just keeps us as first timers. Will not return to SK. I know that a lot of people will disagree with my opinion but that is fine. We all have our own opinion and experience. Neither are the same, but that should not discredit my experience. People can read my review and take it for what it is.

    Beautiful resort in the jungle

We stayed at Sian kaan april 4-11 2024. This was our third visit. We checked in on the bahia website 10 days before and booked out a La cartes. We were not able to select a villa on the website which was fine with us. The resort isn’t very big so we didn’t really care where they put us. After a long drive to the airport (accident on the highway caused a huge traffic jam) we were happy to see how quick and easy check in was! We booked a junior superior suite. We were put in building 18 on the second floor near the activity pool. The room was clean and air conditioner worked great. Lots of space and room to put your clothes. Safe worked well for us. There was robes and slippers in the room and there was also an iron and ironing board. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and body wash are all provided. The room was cleaned spotless every day and the fridge was fully stocked with chips, pop, water and mini bottles of alcohol. Sian Kaan is set in the jungle away from the beach. We love this about it. The setting is unique from other resorts we’ve been to. It’s like a quiet, peaceful oasis compared to the hustle and bustle of the 3 other resorts on the property. The staff at this resort are the reason people keep coming back. They go above and beyond to make you happy! We were so happy to see Eglaydy and Ramon in the buffet for breakfast every morning. They always had our drinks ready to go before we even got our food. I’m going to miss seeing their smiling faces every day. Santa made our omelettes every day and she works so incredibly hard and is so friendly to everyone! We ate at the cenote restaurant for lunch most days and had amazing service from Constantino. He was on the ball, making sure we always had a drink refilled and taking away dirty dishes. I did notice a bit of a decline in the food selection at this cenote restaurant compared to previous visits. We missed the chicken strips every day and the mozerella sticks and would love to see a little more variety. They no longer do the paella by the pool which was disappointing. They now bring out popsicles and sliders or pizza around the pool everyday and that was a really nice service! Francesca (sorry not sure if I spelled that right) brought us drinks around the pool every day. She was amazing! Before you could even finish your drink, she was there asking if you’d like another one. We had reservations at Tequila, Katok, Dolce Vita, Maiko, Gran Tortuga, and Alux. The service in all of them was perfect! I wish I had gotten our servers names but I can’t remember them. They were all great though. Our favourites were Katok and Dolce Vita. The food was so good! From the entertainment team, we spoke to Enrique and Alexander every day and they awesome! They’re really good at including everyone in the activities but they’re not pushy if you don’t want to do it. My husband did the bike tour and loved it! We aren’t big beach people and prefer the pools but found the coba and Akumal beaches were nicer than the Sian kaan beach. The trolleys run frequently. Usually we only waited a few minutes. I think there was only one day where we had to wait 20 minutes for a trolley. The app is horribly laid out and not user friendly at all. I don’t know why they made it so much worse than last year when we were there. They got rid of the ability to ask for a mattress topper and the scents in your room on the app so that was disappointing. Please bring that back Bahia! We have a trip to Coba booked in October with our kids and I’m going to miss Sian kaan a lot! Lol Coba is nice but Sian Kaan is just so relaxing. I’m sure we will be back to Sian kaan although I’d also like to check out some new places. It’s just hard to beat the value you get for the price we pay here. The people that complain about every little thing have unrealistic expectations. Could you find a resort that is more luxurious? Sure but it’s unfair to compare resorts that cost 2x as much. You have to be realistic about what you’re paying and what you get for that price. Your vacation is what you make of it. If you choose to get bent out of shape over a minor inconvenience, that’s unfortunate for you. This resort is clean and beautiful and the people who work here make it amazing. Talk to them, get to know them. Learn their names. They work their tails off 6 days a week to support their families. If anyone has any questions, let me know!
