Absolutely ridiculous customer service! I do not recommend taking any of the tours, online it is not mentioned that these tours are not through the resort- they are thru a SEPARATE company! So when you have issues with your tour, the resort refuses to help at all. The customer service for Bahía Príncipe, told us they absolutely can’t do anything to help us and we must call the company of the tour, Coming2. Amazing how I go online & see many people mentioned how this company is a complete scam! I 100% agree! I am amazed Bahía Príncipe even partners with them. For a “luxury” resort you think you would get luxury treatment. We tried to cancel a tour two days in advance, we call Bahia’s website and were told you must do it 3 days in advance. We go to the front desk, they tell us we can cancel 24 hrs in advance! But we must call the website. We do, they tell us we can cancel 2 days in advance. But that we must do it thru the tour desk… well we went to the tour desk. He told us WE CAN’T CANCEL THRU HIM! He gives us his phone to call the company, when we do they say we must talk to the tour desk. WELL WE ARE SITTING RIGHT INFRONT OF HIM USING HIS PHONE!! She tells us, that it is too late to cancel now because it is no longer two days in advance. We have been trying to call more than 48 hours before, but each representative we talked to- which was at least 5- were all noncompliant and incompetent! Each one gave us different answers and information it almost makes you wonder how long any of them have been hired. How is it that each one, is giving completely different information? Who do we even call to get the truth? I do not recommend booking any of the tours because if you end up having a problem- you are completely screwed.

    Spectacular Vacation!!

We couldn’t be happier with our vacation to Bahía Príncipe Luxury Sian Ka’an. From the transfer to the resort, to the transfer back to the airport, and everything in between it was perfect. We arrived on Sunday, April 29th and left on Friday, May 3rd 2024. The trip from the airport to the resort was almost two hours with traffic and having to drop off others, but our driver went as quickly as he could. The return back to the airport seemed to go quicker, but that may be because of the anticipation upon arrival. We booked our trip through so our transfers and excursions were all booked through Amstar (highly recommend). We were able to check-in quickly and within 10 minutes of our arrival to the resort we were in our room. We had room 41103 on the ground floor and it was spaced perfectly in the middle of the property, right in front of the quieter pool. The natural scenery was exactly what I was looking for. We got to see all sorts of iguanas, birds, and coatis (they look like lemurs). Our room was very clean and well-stocked with drinks that were replenished daily. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was perfect. I’ve read reviews of people complaining about bugs in their room, but we had none. My biggest complaint about the room was the pillows weren’t the most comfortable. Everything else was great! The meals were very delicious with a huge variety at the buffet. Even the smaller lunch buffet at the Cenote restaurant had a nice variety of food. We had dinner at Maiko, Katok, and Le Gourmet and all were fantastic. I highly recommend the lamb sphere at Katok—I think that was my favorite. We missed our reservations at Del Mar seafood restaurant because an excursion we went on didn’t get us back until around 9pm, but Cenote was still open so we ate there. The entertainment was good. We didn’t take advantage of any entertainment at the activity pool, but it sounded fun. We did enjoy the evening/night entertainment at the lobby area. I thoroughly enjoyed the silent disco—it is something I have always wanted to do but never had the opportunity until our vacation. The circus show was awesome and Delmar was great at getting people up and involved. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. From the guy who took our luggage when we arrived to the guy who checked us out when we left, they all seemed to really enjoy their jobs. We were asked multiple times by multiple different people if our stay was okay, if we had any concerns, if the room was okay. We had zero complaints. The one thing I found very interesting was the lack of involvement from the vacationers. Nobody seemed to want to participate in many of the activities. Most people just sat and watched. Also, the number of Canadians there was mind-boggling to us. I expected a good mix of people from the US, UK, Canada, and other countries, but it was about 85%-90% Canadians, which was okay, just very surprising. Everyone was so friendly. I would absolutely go back. The laid-back environment and the atmosphere made it so relaxing. I’m not sure how anybody could complain that it’s too noisy. After about 10:00pm the whole property was pretty quiet. We had no trouble sleeping at all. I do wish we could’ve enjoyed a night swim though. I think that may be the only thing I feel was missing. We didn’t spend any time at the beach. We did take the tram to other resorts on multiple occasions and walked down to the beach at Akumel, but we were headed to dinner so we didn’t swim. The environment at the other resorts was very different than at Sian Ka’an. I definitely preferred SK and am so thankful we booked there. I guess if you go during spring break or at a busier time you might have a very different experience, but for us the trip was perfect. We are both very sad we didn’t get to say bye to Freddy though. He and my husband really bonded on our five short days there. I hope to return some day!

    Worth every penny…

This holiday was amazing and the hotel played a big part in that! I would love to rate it as 5/5 but unfortunately a few issues did occur within our stay. Firstly the room was a little tired, one of the window blinds came off its runner a couple of times and the blinds were stained quite heavily. The windows outside were very dirty and mouldy which even with its location I would expect to be cleaner in a 5* resort. Our fridge didn’t fit under the counter so was just stuck out in the middle of the room? Often, once housekeeping has been we would be left without the full set of what we had when we arrived, something along the lines of …1 day no hand towels, next day no flannels, next day only 1 cup, next day minibar not restocked, next day no bottled water/coffee…. Attention to detail I feel a 5* resort shouldn’t be missing but that it can easily rectify. Although this resort claims to be exclusive to those staying (unlike the other Bahia resorts you can attend as you are in the Siaan Kaan resort) we often witnessed those with bands staying at other Bahia resorts using the restaurants and facilities. We were also duped into a false meeting with a rep that’s based at the hotel trying to get us to attend a timeshare meeting as part of their privilege club. We received a call from guest services saying we could collect a free souvenir and made our way to the lobby as requested, only to find when we got there it wasn’t that at all and it was their way to get us to sit with the rep for the offer of Spa credit! NOT COOL!! On a positive note the staff were exceptional throughout, from the second we arrived they made us feel special, they should be highly commended on their willingness to help and provide first class service at all times! Dining/ food choice and availability was fantastic (pre book a la cart dining before you go!) and the shuttle service to the other resorts was great! One day we were just walking nearby a resort and the driver recognised us and picked us up on his route. Evening entertainment was available, drinks were fantastic and the pools great, along with the service for drinks around the pools! The private beach and pool bar were a great addition along with the adult only infinity pool at the Akumal resort. The beach bar did shut early (often before its 5pm close time, that was a little disappointing) Trips to Coba for the ruins, Cenotes, swimming with turtles, wildlife everywhere and great guides (Raul & Maria the guides made our trip experiences extra amazing) all these were superb!! This was a truly memorable holiday and I think if the rooms are given a slight refresh, the little mistakes are taken onboard and improved upon then this would easily get my full 5/5 rating! Still, amazing place and amazing staff… thank you for a wonderful holiday!

No A/C and Food was HORRIBLE

if you are looking for a resort that has no AC in 90° weather in all of the buildings except for your room and the food selections are trash and taste like trash, including the à la cart restaurants then this is the resort for you. if you enjoy bugs, biting you when you have to walk to the lobby and long walks to get to the lobby and dark paths to get to the lobby and not being close to a beach then you may want to pick this resort but for me, you have to wait for rude shuttle drivers to take you wherever you need to go. This my fifth time coming to Mexico to vacation and my first time staying at this resort and it was the worst experience I’ve ever received. it says adults only but it’s really for seniors. it seemed everyone theirs was over 60 and over, it was no fun activities for young people and singles. It was just a very bad experience.
