    Amazingly relaxing vacation

My travel group had visited the luxury Baha’i principe in Jamaica in April 2024. We had an amazing time. The food, people and the resort were absolutely wonderful. I would strongly recommend this resort to everyone. I would like to give a special shout out to som e staff members that went above and beyond. Rose was our waiter at the Takara restaurant he was so friendly and professional. He was the best waiter that we ever had the pleasure to meet. Our housekeeper Rusheika was tremendous. She did an excellent job in our room. She was very friendly. Jervis and Oshdaine were our concierge They were able to meet every request and need we had. They were super friendly and made our stay incredible Holly was amazing as well as Janice Thank you to all staff for making our staff a very relaxing and wonderful experience

    Great family vacation

The resort was beautiful. The food was delicious wherever we went. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Even our private transfer from the airport provided by Garrett from On Board Tours was fantastic, it was so good we also went on an excursion with Garrett to the Blue hole, which was also great. All in all a fantastic family vacation

    Incredible Time!

Massive thank you to everyone for making my wife’s birthday so special. It was her first time in Jamaica and the whole staff made it magical. From the phone staff before we got there that helped us with pre-checkin, to Ms. Holly that showed us our room. The whole team at Rodizzio that stayed late for us (our flight was horribly delayed) for my wife’s birthday dinner. The entertainment team at the pool throwing a crazy party and the pool bartenders Clive and Carlyle were awesome. Room service was so quick with food and towels when needed. The room was beautiful and the view was great! The grounds are so nice and easy to navigate with the maps despite being massive. Just a wonderful trip and we’re already planning to come back.

Save your money and consider other options

I don’t understand all the 5* reviews of this place - I’ve traveled around the world (see my previous reviews), and this was far from luxurious. Stayed for a week in April 2024 to attend a wedding. Traveling with a friend to attend a destination wedding. PROPERTY Beautiful lobby, incredible grounds. Truly stunning - the maintenance crew does an excellent job, especially considering the size of the property and the length of the beach. At all times, the gardens were well-manicured and the beaches were raked. Rooms were disappointing - dated decor, tired furniture, and dark bathrooms (even in their top-tier oceanfront room). Many balcony doors were heavy to slide and difficult to latch. The curtains were often in the way of the door & track - no way to pull them out of the way. We ended up moving rooms on the first day because our oceanfront room had a door that wouldn’t latch, and there was no option for a 2-bed configuration. We signed a paper to agree to a downgrade without a refund (the rooms weren’t very different). No facial tissues in the room, no pen/paper to take a quick note, one small facial soap for a 2 bed / 2 sink room, and no soap dish. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are in wall-mounted refillable bottles. Outlets barely stayed together - hard to get things to connect, and once they did, you often removed the outlet cover when you unplugged. On our last day and night, the a/c didn’t work. We were repeatedly told it affected all of the luxury side, but that repairs were in progress and “it was coming back online.” By the evening, we were desperate. We asked to be moved to any room in the entire resort that had a/c (keep in mind we had paid for the “top-tier” room category). After being transferred desks 3 times, a woman agreed to arrange a room on the Gran side and call me back. The call never came, of course. To add insult to injury, there was a critter in the vent for a couple of hours in the early morning scratching, chewing, and otherwise making a racket. The Gran side (which you have to cross through for meals) has very dark hallways with musty carpets. In fairness, tile floors are loud on the Luxury side; perhaps this could be mitigated with felted wheels on room service carts, etc. SERVICE Service was abysmal. There were a few exceptions to the rule, but the front desk and restaurant staff in particular were far from helpful or proactive. We generally felt like an inconvenience anytime we would ask for help, make a request, or ask for directions. Again, a few staff were very friendly and helpful, but they felt like a breath of fresh air rather than a reasonable expectation at a “luxury” resort. The oddest part was that we felt almost harassed by people asking about our “guest experience” - many mornings we would get 1-2 phone calls starting around 8am (apparently because we had voiced dissatisfaction during the move between rooms). We eventually had AC Vacations intervene so the calls would stop waking us up. Staff with clipboards also wander around the pool and restaurant areas, approaching you to ask about your experience. They used many trained customer acknowledgment phrases, but often took no notes (I suspect there’s little they can do other than schedule regular calls to “check in” on your experience). But no, they can’t get you a map of the property or a straw (more on that below). I tried. DINING VERY difficult to get reservations for any of the à la carte restaurants; extremely insulting when the restaurants are almost empty most nights (we were told many people don’t show up). I would suggest moving from a reservation-mandatory system to reservation-optional, perhaps with some tables designated for reservations. Food overall was meh. Edible for the most part. Hot dishes often served lukewarm, even when brought out “fresh.” A highlight was the jerk chicken - usually served straight off the grill, and delicious. Restaurant hours were confusing, not printed anywhere in a comprehensive format, and often “depended on occupancy” (as though a guest would know!). There are no restaurants open from 11:00am until (approx) 12:30pm. Room service is available, but plan for this as most restaurants stop serving breakfast by 10:30am. Restaurants always want you to scan QR codes for their menu, although printed menus are available upon request. The meals at the à la carte restaurants were somewhat better than the standard fare, but this was very hit or miss - my friend and I had a great meal at Don Pablo one night, but when she returned the following night with a different group, the exact same menu items were served differently, and she noted the chocolate dessert had a completely different (less-appetizing) base. MISCELLANEOUS - Bring straws!!! I know this sounds ridiculous, and it is. The property is trying to be “green” by cutting straws (and any disposable items). At a few poolside bars you could get a paper straw if you insisted (and they had any), but mostly the request was met with a shrug. Without a straw, cocktails just separate and you get sips of mix followed by sips of pure booze. The amount of wasted drink probably outweighs the impact of straws. - Print a map from the property’s website BEFORE you arrive. The property does not have any available (another “green” measure), nor did Air Canada Vacations. I ended up taking a picture of a map board and referring to that. The map feature within the app is useless. A phone is a necessity - room service menu, etc. is only available through the app. - Bring your own insulated cup and a bit of dish soap - otherwise, drinks are almost all served in scratched/worn plastic (no straws), including at some of the à la carte adults-only restaurants. - Wifi can be spotty - worked fine in the room, but not near the pool or between buildings/near elevators. - Prepare for an upsell on everything - wifi, booze, spa services (prices were very high in USD), excursions, private dinners, etc. - Slow elevators. Often much faster just to take the stairs. - I would not recommend an event at this property. I understand the resort “nickels and dimes” for everything (even though the couple essentially arranged for over 40 guests to spend a week); the wedding was beautiful, but I don’t credit the resort for that - it was a lot of hard work by the couple and their families. Overall, I did not find this to be a “luxury” stay and I will not be planning to return. While there are some positives to this property, I did not find it to be good value for money, nor do I think it reaches a “Luxury” designation.

    Not worth the money

Not a good stay one beer red strip the other beer you pay for no premium drinks unless you buy them almost all restaurants our onkids side of resort most entertainment on kids side of resort so plan sitting with families .the luxury side is not worth the money the room service was bad. the bar would not give ua glass of water before 10 am even if they was working people was rude it's really not worth going look around. Now the good the was was very nice the maids were on top of it the pool and property was great very well kept if you get a ocean view very nice if not you could be looking at old buildings or the highway were the trucks like the Jake brake look around at resorts before you book this it's all true.
