My experience
The hotel is good, and the staff are polite and friendly. The restaurant and the food are excellent. However, the beach is not great; it is mostly rocky and covered with algae. They charge separately for entertainment and evening programs, and there is a lack of entertainment and activities. Considering my experience with various resorts, in other places like Riu , they definitely did not charge for evening shows. And more activities compared to this hotel .

The worst so called luxury experience I have ever experienced
Refrigerator did not work, one of the sinks in bathroom was clogged. Talked to 4 different people refrigerator and finally gave up after 3 days of trying. Housekeeper was great and accommodating, also plug in outlets were suspect and only 2 worked. TV sound was muffled and half the channels pictures were fuzzy. For the money we spent it wasn’t worth it and the word luxury needs to taken off the name of the resort. The name should be Bahia Principe Budget Motel, nothing luxury about this place. I’ve been 3 times to Jamaica and this was my wife’s 1st and it put a bad taste in her mouth. Next time we go we’ll stay at my two old faithfuls, The Moone Palace or the Royal Decameron.

All In & indulgent
I traveled solo & really enjoyed my stay for 4 nights. I was a little wary about booking here due to reviews but this resort itself & the staff were great, 5/5. The grounds were beautiful & the beach was perfect, 5/5. The room I had was a king ocean view on the 7th floor, views were phenomenal & it was very clean. I ordered room service once & it arrived fairly quickly, quality & taste 3.5/5. My only complaint is mainly with a la carte restaurants, I couldnt even get a reservation for 1 at the Knife or Dolce Vita & I tried to do all my reservations on the app the day I arrived. I was able to reserve dinner for Don Pablo 4/5, Picasso 3.5/5, Rodizio 4.5/5, & Mikado 1/5. I also ate at Jazmin & buffet by the pool, which were really good & better than Mikado or Picasso. Jerk chicken & curry goat were really good, exceptional really. If I knew, I'd prob would've had dinner at the buffets instead of Mikado or Picasso. I also indulged in an anti-aging facial (80mins) & a Jamaican Experience massage (80mins) at the spa, back-to-back. Maheel provided both services & she was phenomenal. I think I slept through a third of my services, that's how relaxing & wonderful they were. My body felt rejuvenated & relaxed, my face was glowing, soft, & smooth. I highly recommend indulging at the spa.

Lies roaches and renovation building site run for the hills
If you have booked I pity you what a dive this place is as you can see by my other reviews iam fair and say things how they are good and bad, first things first it was my patrtners birthday a few days prior to coming here as we havent been to Jamaica before and were travelling with friends for a well earned holiday,we arrived at the hotel and had massive issues checking in pumpkin I believe her sour un helpful attitude while checking in as we had emailed the hotel plenty prior to arrival as we wanted rooms close to our friends, restaurant bookings etc etc,so when the wife booked it the same time as our friends we paid exactly the same they got an ocean view suite,we had apparently just booked a suite,we argued that how could this be as we paid the same price they simply did not care and were extremely rude my wife stated she had been emailing about rooms together etc and nothing was said anyhoo eventually we just took the room unless we wanted to pay an extra 300 dollars to upgrade how come we had to pay exrptra when our friends paid the same not off to a great start, the room we were given on the 6 floor overlooking rubble and the main road what a great birthday treat,we arrived on Saturday I mention this because they are totally renovating the 7th floor heavily drilling and electric saws banging hammering moving furniture about etc etc,my wife had got a bit burnt so wanted to go back to the room Monday but they were renovating directly above us you couldn’t hear yourself think,I tried to call down to reception ohh no you don’t the phones don’t work so off I went down to reception I complained about the noise going on they said they would call maintenance etc and send somebody up to fix the phones directly after another annoying hour of constant drilling I went up to the 7th floor I asked for the boss/manager the man with the drill came out the room and politely but firmly stated what the hell was going on I said I know you have to do upgrades etc but with paying holiday makers directly underneath it wasn’t on and why on earth have we been accommodated in this area of the hotel he agreed with us and said it was unfair on us,I asked if reception had indeed called him no he stated I thought as much so would he be coming back the next day drilling etc yes he said everyday all day for the next few weeks I was furious, and recorded this conversation the head of security then arrived and escorted me off this floor and said he couldn’t believe we were in a room directly underneath and said he would talk to somebody in reception, all lies no body as got in touch and it’s Tuesday at 5pm and the drilling banging work is still going on,we spoke to our tui rep who stated he would sort it out as they have to be informed of works going on as guests are not to be given rooms there due to the racket,we also contacted tui uk about this and guess what nothing done iam go in to go absolutely ape tomorrow as this is so stressful and simply not relaxing living under a building site, the hotel is quite rundown the staff are mostly friendly and happy apart from the reception staff who cannot be bothered to sort any issues out,we ate in the takara restaurant there were roaches running about on the floor we squashed about six or seven the waiter even squashed one they were on the table also we all felt very uneasy and cancelled further bookings at this restaurant, the Picasso and mikado restaurant was better staff were great food good but not great there is a pool bar closed so only two bars open, people were smoking in the jacuzzi and flicking buts in the pool with no staff challenging them and often children in the adult sections and pool areas again unchallenged I wish I could go home and was so looking forward to this stay so if you want mediocre and lies this is the place for you personally I wouldn’t ever come here again,

Check what time of holiday you are looking for
If you are looking for a quiet escape and romantic feel.... this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for a LOUD pool where some activities are designed for adults, then you will love it. Maybe due to low occupancy but there were lots of locals using the facilities over bank holiday and weekends... this may influence the style of music as it was mostly reggae rap. Most of the staff are lovely and always so are more abrupt. I found some of the entertainment team rude as they will engage in conversation with you but constantly looking over their shoulder when you are talking. Watch out for the seling of the preferred club .... they don't take no for an answer. Overall, the resort is clean, there are people cleaning throughout the day, and rooms are looking worn but practical. We did have problems with the hot water and they insisted we change the room so as not to spoil the holiday. Tea lovers be worned there is not a kettle in the room. Food over all was good but sadly disappointed with the service at the al a carts.... knife was by far the best. I was presently surprised by the room service food and the speed it arrived. Overall, I had a lovely time. Just do your research as check it's the hotel for you.
