We stayed for two weeks and had a lot of fun! A big part of every day were the smiles and energy from the great entertainment team! Mariah, Hannia, Johaly especially! You were our friends and we really enjoyed playing the games and seeing your happy and welcoming smiles! Such a great bonus to add to all the sun, water, fishes, food and drinks! We are already looking forward to coming back next year to see you again!

An excellent, long overdue family vacation!!
We recently enjoyed a trip to the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal! We are a family of four, with my kids, who are 23 and 19! We flew into the Tulum Airport and booked through Air Canada (which I highly recommend). **Please note (airport-related): If you use vapes, they don't like to see them brought into the country. They allowed us to bring them in with a warning because the boxes were in their original packaging but told us not to do this next time. On our way home to Canada, they took the vape and any related cartridges and disposed of them (they had a box full of them, actually). My son had nic gum in the event this happened, but I forewarn you that you may run into challenges with this. This is my second time at this resort and the first time for my kids, so I wanted to go to a place with a lot to offer and a certain amount of safety on the grounds if they wanted to tour around without us. My kids enjoyed the access to the Tukum and Coba facilities. The transportation all over the resort is handy if you're not looking to get your steps in all the time because it is a huge and spread-out resort. Our rooms were clean and tidy, with no complaints. They had us in the same compound but on different floors, which was no problem. We were in building 70, which was quite a far trek from the main pools and lobby, so we used the trollies quite a bit, which was no problem. The food was pretty good overall. I would say that the quality and variety started to get a bit tiresome in the last few days (buffet). We enjoyed three a la carte restaurants (Katok - Steak House, Frutos Del Mar - Seafood, and Dolce Vita - Italian)! We couldn't book anything through the app, so we used the customer service rep to help us book through their system, and we had no issues reserving spots. This was a very helpful service AND the resort was 98% full so we were pleased. The pools, beach, bars, towel service, and beachside drink servers were perfect. With the resort so full, they handled things beautifully. The space was constantly cleaned, service was always present, and drinks were made well. If you wanted more activity, you stayed by the poolside; if you wanted more quiet lounging, the beach was perfect. Resort activities varied, but the silent disco and sports bar were fun for us in the evenings. We didn't catch any shows, but that isn't a draw for us as a family. Akumal is great for adults, I would say, while Coba has more kid-oriented things like a little water park. So, while you have access to everything, the Akumul side feels more 'adult' focused. We did the Buggy Tour (with Cenote) with the kids, which was great fun and located just off the resort; I highly recommend it! My husband and I have done various tours in the area before and highly recommend those as well. Overall, my kids want to come back with their friends! I can't say enough about this spot. We had a really fantastic experience and even after years in between our two experiences its nice to see that not much has changed, but in a really great way. I can see myself coming back for a third time. At the end of the day you can nit pick all you like but on the whole they offer a really magical experience and work really hard to ensure your time is enjoyable! Nov 30, 2024Beware of Theft and Untrustworthy Staff
Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, Mexico I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal for a week with a group of 30+ people to celebrate a wedding. While the event itself was beautiful, our overall experience at the resort was overshadowed by significant security concerns and poor handling of a serious situation. During our stay, two expensive items—a pair of AirPods and a JBL speaker—were stolen from rooms. Both items were securely stored before we left the rooms, yet upon returning, they were gone. We reported the incidents to the resort multiple times, but their response was incredibly disappointing. The resort claimed the items were "not found" and failed to address the matter further. Adding to the frustration, prior to these thefts, we were leaving tips for the cleaning staff as a gesture of appreciation. Unfortunately, this goodwill was met with mistrust, making us feel unsafe about leaving anything valuable behind. Following the incidents, we resorted to using the "Do Not Disturb" signs on our doors to prevent staff entry. Despite this, staff frequently approached us and insisted on going into the rooms, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. This was an unfortunate and distressing experience that tarnished what should have been a joyous occasion. I cannot recommend staying at this resort due to the untrustworthy behavior of the staff and the resort's failure to resolve the situation. Travelers should be cautious when considering Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal.

Amazing service
Beautiful resort, amazing service and good food. Can't wait to go back. A special shout out to Maceta on the mayans ruins tour, his information and recommendations were brilliant. Best Tacos and margaritas from the whole trip. Also to Jose and his incredible team at the restaurant buffet. They made our holiday!
