    So far the worst Karisma hotel experience (for Prestige members)

    We’ve been to different Karisma hotels 7 times in the last few years and unfortunately, this was the worst vacation to a Karisma hotel so far. To start of, we are Exotic/Prestige members and since we paid a good amount for the membership our expectations are a bit higher. It would be a 4* vacation for anyone else, but 2* for Prestige members. The main reason I would not give this Hotel 5* is because both my wife and I felt ill to our stomach on different days. So, its not something we ate once, but seems like multiple food/drinks weren’t good. Normally, we don’t issues with foods and never take any medicine with us. Kid’s Pepto Bismo didn’t help much so we just stuffed our faces with water, bread and bananas. This is very strange for a Karimsa resort since they take pride in their food and “gourmet experience”. My wife loved her last year’s trip to this hotel and hopefully this year’s failure was a one-time thing, not a decline in overall food preparation and quality. Beach was fairly decent, with a only 2 days of heavy seaweed accumulation. Water was very warm and clear on most days. Pools were excellent, clean and very warm, thanks to steady temperatures in August. Closer to the evening they felt like jacuzzi! So, if you want a warm Swim-up pool, August is an excellent month. Restaurant staff, or really any other staff were excellent. They remembered our kid’s names from day one and would always be super friendly. Remembered our drink preferences at lunch and breakfast. Hotel itself is very small with only one place opened for breakfast. Two places opened for lunch and 3 specialty restaurants for dinner. But it was super cozy and convenient, especially with small children; never had to walk too far. All other issues were with Prestige: Out of 8 days we saw our butler for only 5 days. He used to come in at 3PM, ask us if we need anything and then disappear. This was a drastic difference from other Karisma resorts were butlers are almost annoying. If we ask for a hotel reservation, they would let us know once its made. They would find us throughout the day and confirm if everything is good. Sometimes they would even bring us drinks or lunch to the beach. This time, complete opposite…… Few examples: Twice our restaurant reservations were messed up. Took days to get step stools for kids. Fridge wasn’t restocked and we didn’t get our “pre-arrival” wine bottle until day 5. He would tell us that all “prestige beach beds” are reserved and ask us to go book them ourselves with front desk, but when I did, those beds were available half the time. We’ve talked to other members and their butlers would book it for them every day without any issues. Butlers didn’t make members wait in line everyday at 5PM, they would do it themselves if required. Previously, butlers would ask us about planning dinner on the beach when we first arrived, but in this case, butler never brought it up until we asked on 4th day: “Oh, you want it? Ok…. let me see what we can do”. If we forget to ask for something on the spot, we wouldn’t see the butler until next day or two.. So, we either didn’t get it or had to ask the front desk. I think I’ve talked to front desk more than the butler. During our other 6 trips. we only saw front desk during check in and check out. Needless to say, this butler got the lowest tip we’ve ever given. I was actually thinking about not tipping him at all, but he did do something.. Basically, we could have saved a bunch of money and book non-presidential rather then paying for butler who was never there. I would still “recommend” this hotel but so far, all other Karisma hotels were better.

    Amazing trip!

    We (2 adults, 2 very young kids) had an absolutely fabulous stay at this resort! We had a great room right by the beach and pool, and honestly, the staff were just amazing. We were there for 2 weeks and for us, it was fab. Our kids (2 years & 10 months) really enjoyed the baby pool & the food at the restaurants was really excellent. Above all though, the staff are really just so amazing - Nayeli in the restaurant was an absolute star, and the concierge team who helped us find a baby walker for our son who hated sitting down. But everyone we encountered was great! We'd be back every year if it wasn't a 10 hour flight!

    Girls Trip- Wonderful Experience!

    I am just arriving back home from Azul Beach-Cancún...what a fun time we had!! My girlfriends and I couldn’t have had asked for anything more. The customer service and staff at this resort helped make it so memorable! Thanks to Lucia and Blanca for keeping our drinks coming and for your lovely smiles; to Miguel, Rolando, and Jorge for taking care of us at the Premium Pool and getting our chairs ready and keeping our cooler stocked at all times; and finally, thanks also to Inocencio and Alex for your impeccable service at our meals. We see and appreciate you all- thank you for an amazing time!❤️

    We had a great time!

    We (two adults and two kids - 6 and 12) just came back from our first vacation trip to the Riviera Maya. We were worried before we went because of some of tripadvisor negative reviews. However...everything was great! All of the Azul Beach Resort hotel stuff were very friendly and helpful, especially Christian. Yes, when we arrived there, sea weeds were at the beach. But, it is not their fault, and they were cleaning them non-stop. After a couple days later, there was less sea weeds. It was smaller resorts, so less people, so we did not have any difficulty to make a reservation for dinner. Foods were great too. They had activities for adults and kids. It was fun, and our kids liked them. We will definitely go back!

    Excellent resort! We enjoyed our stay very much. Food and accommodations were great. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We were there for a wedding and they made sure each one of us was well taken care of. The wedding by the beach was stunning! Planning a trip back already and will definitely stay at this resort.
