Such a great hotel in Waikiki!!
We just got back from a 6 night vacation in Hawaii and stayed at the Aston Waikiki - and LOVED it!! The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire stay, and even allowed for a significantly late check out to accommodate our late night flight. We had an oceanfront room and it’s totally the way to do - the views were phenomenal, the room was large, clean and updated, and we loved it. The only minor critique is that the bathroom was a bit small and the shower head was low for me - I’m 6’1” and it was at my neck. We enjoyed the pool, complimentary shaved ice in the afternoon, and the free beach chairs were awesome to take across the street each day for the beach. The K-Cups in the room were fantastic local Hawaiian coffee and our room attendant gave us a lot since we went thru them quickly. The hotel is conveniently located next to a pick up location for many of the excursions offered on the island, as well. We liked that the hotel was towards the end of the tourist area so it wasn’t as crowded and loud as it is a few blocks down the street. We’re already looking forward to our next vacation!
Have just stayed at this hotel and had a great time. Great spot quiet at night, within walking distance of everything. Plenty of places for food eg Wolfgang Puck and Tikis Bar and Grill, and also shopping. Staff at hotel very helpful and friendly especially Lillian the front desk supervisor. We joined the Coconut Club (extra $$) but well worth it, on 21st floor great views of the beach and Diamond Head, marvellous for sunsets too. Continental breakfast from 6 - 10 am, coffee and juice all day and from 4 - 8 pm drinks and nibbles all part of the package. Will definitely stay again if we get back to Waikiki. Chris and John Bell.
Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel
Difficult to navigate old hotel with reception on 3rd floor. Staff were neither friendly nor helpful. Signage not clear. Our ocean view room was really a partial one. No early breakfast. Hated paying resort fee for being at hotel for a short overnight. I would not stay here again.
This is the 2nd time we are staying at this hotel and it was not the same experience,we had a late checking due to airline problem and I had called to inform them, they kept my room but not the one reserved,we asked for a partial view we received a city view,we asked for king bed we had 2 smalls beds.Welcoming at the desk wasn’t not what we are supposed to receive ,very cold reception. No one a the taxi reception is ready to help with your luggage, unless you show up $$$.There is better option if you want to stay in front of Waikiki.Because the room was city view, you are on an another hotel side,AC of the other hotel are very noisy.
We stayed here for our anniversary and got a great deal with half price resort fee and parking. We upgraded to an ocean view room (from partial ocean view) on check in which was a nice touch, but we were placed of the 8th floor despite telling the check in hostess we are light sleepers. It’s noisy! The sound proofing is poor and the other guests can also be loud and ignorant. The staff were all good, especially the people doing the valet, and the room was nice. We really liked the lift system! Our only other gripe was the housekeeping. We found it to be inconsistent and not as thorough as I’d have expected. Overall, we liked the hotel but wouldn’t stay here again due to the poor soundproofing. That was a deal breaker for us.
