We have enjoyed this resort twice

We have stayed here on two separate occasions & have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The rooms & buildings aren’t perfect (I imagine with the humidity & weather conditions it takes extra upkeep & maintenance than most places). However, we enjoy the different pools, the shaved ice & the breakfast. The staff has always been extremely friendly & kind (valet & breakfast staff especially). We booked our activities with the Expedia experts whose office is in the lobby area. When the weather cooperates, there’s a fire pit & lounge chairs on the patio. We hope/plan to return again in a few more years.

    Beware: Cockroaches

Would not recommend this hotel. Currently staying here, and unfortunately will never be back again. My fiance and I are in Kauai to celebrate our Babymoon and to get Married so this is a very special time for us. On our first night here, we came back to the resort after having dinner, flipped the lights on in our room only to notice it was INFESTED with COCKROACHES. We went to the front desk to possibly get some sort of compensation for being put in such a situation and having to switch rooms after unpacking all of our clothes... All they did was put us in another building which turned out to not have ANY amenities. The next day we called the front desk for bottled water and we were told to go to another building's vending machine since ours didn't have any. Very poor customer service all around, they dont care about their guests. We are disappointed with our experience, it's somewhat disheartening as we're all here for a good time. I am a disabled-veteran, I would hope to be treated in a nicer manner and not just be brushed off.

Two star hotel on a good day

This place has potential. But no leadership. We booked this resort for a family getaway. First off the rooms are dated and falling apart. The furniture in the room was in poor condition and beds were terrible. The pools and spas were dirty and falling apart also. There was broken glass on one of the pool decks, then comes the staff, they did not have staff to clean the rooms or service any of the facilities in the resort. The bartender was to busy hanging out with his friends, so no drinks, the waitress was never at the pool and the snack bars and shaved ice were closed due to no staff to run them! We ended up checking out early and they charged me $75 to do so. I asked for a manager and they couldn’t produce one. Don’t stay here We ended up at the grand Hyatt which was the best decision ever!!! Please don’t waste your money on the Kauai beach resort!!!

    Flood

Pleasant stay here although the 3rd night there was a massive storm that flooded the resort for a couple of days. There are a lot of feral chickens running around and the male chickens tend to wake you with their crowing at 4 o clock in the morning. Not much entertainment except Yoga at 7 am. Having missed our connection flight we were a day late arriving .At reception we were put down as a no show?.But they did find us a room.

Good combination of rooms, pools, beach and food

My one proviso is that the beach, while lovely for walking, sunsets and wading, is not good for swimming. But the salt water swimming pools were delightful. The food at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner is very good. The bar food is also good, served from lunch through the evening. This is a fairly large place and felt busy during the Christmas rush, but not notably crowded. Our third floor room facing the ocean viewed the pools. While it faced the ocean, the water was not visible. This is probably not the case for rooms further toward the ocean. Staff was helpful and cooperative
