This is the most underrated sell at check-in. It’s almost like a Disney Club 33 experience when you ask “how about the Longboard Club” and the front desk says “ohhhhh (you discovered our gold mine)” We are talking hand curated cicerone and sommelier picked wine and beer at dive bar prices if you average over two people per room and have one drink an hour from 4-8pm. Add in Keala Kennelly (DJKK)for deep house tropical tracks and this is THE premiere Friday night in Waikiki.
Atmosphere, Room, Location and Dailyn!
Let me first off start with this is an amazing and beautiful resort! From the time we booked it for our honeymoon from the time we checked out we had an amazing experience. Our room was beautiful with an ocean front view, the pool area was beautiful and O Bar was a nice relaxing spot to enjoy a drink. I will be honest we did not talk with much of the Front Desk staff except Ms. Dailyn who was a joy to work with. She was our go to for every question we had and really made our trip the absolute best! From great recommendations on places to eat and sites around the island she was the go to person! Her friendly and welcoming personality made us feel right at home at the Alohilani. We encountered many friendly staff members throughout our entire stay who made us feel welcome and valued as guests, but Dailyn really went above and beyond to make our honeymoon the absolute best! We had a great all around experience with this property and can't wait to return. We also had a great dining experience at Morimoto Asia - Waikiki which is located in the hotel and every morning we enjoyed a wonderful cup of coffee from Kai Coffee located on the first floor ocean front. Their Kai Latte is AMAZING!! Again I can not say enough wonderful things about our experience with Alohilani Resort, it was a trip we will always remember!
The location was exceptional & the burger place nearby was a hit! I enjoyed having a balcony with some sort of view and I loved being so close to the beach, specifically to watch the sunset. The store in lobby was very convenient. I cannot forget to mention the toilet seat warmer! How is this not at every hotel yet?!
Nice hotel but not best value for money
The lobby is lovely and the hotel is nice but it does lack the wow factor considering the price. There are long waits for the elevators, there was a small patch of damp in the corner of our room, no courtesy room to use if flying late and already checked out, balcony pretty small. Quite a lot of children around at the weekend, not enough sunbeds, the pool is in between the two tall towers of rooms so spends a lot of the day in the shade. The most irritating thing is that to use some of the facilities around the pool that enticed me to this hotel in the photos you have to reserve and pay aren't allowed in even when there's nobody in there that's booked. All of this said the beds are extremely comfortable and watching the sunset from the jacuzzi was beautiful. Great that the pool is open til late too.
Location, Location, Location + light filled rooms
Modern, fresh resort with everything you could need in a fantastic location. We had interconnecting rooms, with ocean views (very different to ocean front, but still lovely). Convenient to have a guest laundry on site and an ABC store on the ground floor. The pool is not fantastic for kids - too many people trying to get content for Instagram. The pool was named one of the most “Instagramable” in Hawaii to be fair. The gym is also pretty much non existent unless you’re into freestyle dance - it’s just a studio. But for two nights, as a young family, who spent most of our time exploring, the resort was great. Special mention for fantastic pillows and comfortable beds. Thank you Alohilani.
