Amazing Hotel for family visit!
My wife and I visited this hotel with our toddler. The resort is smaller than others I have visited in the area, but this is definitely my favorite one. It's not quite as much of a "party resort" as others, but I much prefer the relaxed family atmosphere found here. The food was great quality, our rooms were promptly turned down every day, and the hospitality was above and beyond what we have come to expect in a Mexico resort. The best part of this hotel is the Entertainment staff! These guys work extremely hard to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves! With zoomba, pool games, and many activities throughout the day, they really make this place shine! I am a volleyball player and these guys took whatever spare time they could to get some quality doubles games in with me, which I really appreicated! Thank you so much to Michele, Alejandro, Ivan, Paco and the rest of the Entertainment staff, you guys really made my stay extra special! I Can't wait to come back!
Almost perfect except ....
This hotel is fantastic, the Allegro team are so polite, professional and friendly. Hotel is very clean, beds big and air con worked really well. Location fantastic with a 20min walk into town or quick cheap taxi ride. Food was varied and really tasty. We tried the Italian, Mexican and for a surcharge had lobster and fillet beef on the beach. Can’t really comment on the evening entertainment as we didn’t watch it as was out most evenings or chilling out at the pool bar. Drinks are really good also. On arrival we had the hard sell about joining the 1st club but we politely declined and wasn’t bothered again to join so no issues there at all. The only issue which nothing can be done about is how thin the bedroom walls are. For our first four nights we have what seemed very loud neighbours. Only young lassies on holiday having fun and felt awful having to bang on the wall to shut them up but we just couldn’t sleep. Even with ear plugs they were still loud. Our other nights we could still hear the new visitors but thankfully they weren’t as loud but still not great. Unfortunately this did spoil our holiday so wouldn’t stay again which is a real shame.
Very friendly very comfortable. Caleb was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return Food lovely, could be more varied Could mix up entertainment a bit, but was good. Pool entertainer very funny
The hotel was excellent, as was the food and cleanliness of rooms. The only issue is there is not an adult only section- so if children playing or screaming are not your cup of tea then you may struggle. That being said the service from the staff was outstanding and a special mention for the entertainment team who work tirelessly for everyone to have fun.
Amazing Resort!! Would definitely return!
First time in Mexico and honestly had the most amazing time at this resort!! Resort/Facilities The resort is absolutely stunning, very clean and great facilities. There are 2 pools, the main pool where the entertainment is throughout the day with access to the bar and the second pool just behind. The resort has direct access to the beach which is gorgeous, the seaweed is regularly cleaned. One of the best beaches I came across on the trip, many other beaches are covered in seaweed. The staff are so lovely and willing to offer help in any way. We felt extremely welcome! Room We stayed in a double room which was spacious, with a TV, mini bar fridge (which is stocked up daily) and coffee/tea facilities. The bed was super comfortable and a good sized bathroom/shower. The aircon was great especially after a day in the heat. Each room also has a hammock outside which we loved. Probably our only issue was towards the end of the holiday where it rained over night for 2 nights, we had a leak in our room. Luckily it was not over any furniture and it was manageable with towels. Mentioned this to reception who said they would look into it and as we checked out the day after I cannot say whether this was fixed. Another note to point out is the noise level. We didn't have a problem but heard other guests mentioning it and I imagine it will vary where you stay in the resort. We stayed closer to the pools so if we were in the room in the day, we could hear the entertainment, but this wasn't an issue as we wasn't in the room for very long. You can also hear other guests in the room next doors quite clearly, seem the walls are thin. The staff are extremely helpful so I imagine if there are any issues, they will be more than happy to help. Food The buffet had a great variety everyday for dinner, and we tried each of the a la carte restaurants (mexican, asian and italian) which was great. Mexican was my favourite, down towards the beach. There is also a 24 hour snack bar. Breakfast is pretty much the same each day but loads of options to choose from, including made to order omelettes. Entertainment The entertainment staff were amazing, activities throughout the day like zumba, water aerobics, quizzes etc and then evening entertainment with a different show each night. The staff had great energy and got the crowd hyped up, whether you wanted to get involved or just watch. There was also a foam party in the main pool which was a lot of fun. Location First time in Mexico/Playcar and we didn't realise Playacar is a closed off area. It was very safe! 2 mins down from the resort there is a plaza with tourist shops, pharmacies, Starbucks (free wifi). To get into Playa Del Carmen I would say is around a 30 minute walk, which isn't so bad as only tourists staying in Playacar can enter the area so it is not busy and is a relaxing walk. Otherwise it is 5/10 minutes in the taxi, around £5. Playa Del Carmen is lovely, has a variety of restaurants and shops. Recommended activities - Coco Bongo!! we aren't really party goers but we booked this through the rep at the hotel and it was the best night ever - Akumal (swimming with turtles) - Xcarat! this was also amazing, if you are to pick one of the parks, this is definitely the best for Mexican culture, also booked in the hotel - Chitzen Itza - Tulum & Coba A huge thank you to Allegro Playcar for such an amazing time. We will 100% return!!
