The Hawaiian Canoe Experience teaches guests Hawaiian traditions while offering a fun adventure. Participants learn the basics of paddling, as well as the history of the canoe and its importance to Hawaiian heritage. Used by native Hawaiians to cross the rough channels between the islands, the outrigger canoe was built out of koa and other hard native woods. Not only an instrument of fishing and sustenance gathering, the outrigger became the long distance means by which Hawaiians, and the greater Polynesian society projected both settlements and conquests. The Hawaiian Canoe Experience fills up quickly and advanced reservations are required.
However you choose to spend your time, be sure to open your mind and your heart to the Hawaiian culture. Hawaiians believe that we need to be conscious and grateful of all the things around us: our health, our family, and nature. The incredible culture is based on the fundamental principles of love, support, hospitality, and giving without the expectation of receiving.

Beautiful place and views. Very luxurious. Courteous staff. My only comment would be that the hotel should upgrade the shower heads in the bathrooms. Those were very pedestrian and a disappointment. The bathtub though was out of the world.
Paradise in Maui
My husband and I bought a trip to Hawaii as an auction item at a fundraiser. It included a 7 night stay at the Fairmont Kea Kani. This hotel was magnificent. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Our server Bree at the sanctuary pool was amazing and tended to our every need. We hope someday to be able to stay at this beautiful hotel again.
Magnificent in Maui
There simply aren't enough adjectives to describe this magnificent property. From it's convenient and beautiful location along the Wailea coast, to the amenities offered - it's simply the best. This visit was my 5th to the resort and I'll be there the same time next year! All the rooms are suites with breathtaking views. But room 602 is the best on the property!
Beautiful Property - Relaxing Stay
Really enjoyed my 3 day stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. Love the Suites, Great Golf, Great Spa, and excellent food. The staff was always attentive and welcoming. I really liked the text follow-up checking up with me to be sure all was good and if I needed anything.
First Maui trip
We booked this for our 10 year anniversary and brought the kids along. It was a bit bumpy when we checked in. We had to wait about 2 hours to get our room. We let them know and they sent a note and some Chocolates to the room. They also sent champagne for our anniversary. The resort is very well run, and it is extremely clean. The suite was big for a family of 4 and the beds were clean and comfy. The beach is beautiful and has low traffic and a very family friendly vibe. We rented at sea kayak, and Michael, who runs the rentals, was extremely helpful and kind. We also received great service from Mindy, a server at KO, which is a delicious restaurant with fantastic sunsets. I had a spa treatment, and it was a clean, well run spa. Our favorite staff member was Bonnie at the Keiki club. We had never put our kids in any sort of kids club, and she is amazing. It’s more of a fun class to learn about the ocean and Hawaiian culture. We were only going to have our children attend 2 half days and they begged us to go a 3rd. They absolutely loved her. Our only complaint is the expensive breakfast. At the Kei Lani restaurant, it averaged about 100 a breakfast, and that’s with our 5 year old eating free. We learned towards the end of our trip that the Makana market has some much cheaper breakfast options. All in all super impressed and thankful for the service we received!
