Customer Ratings & Reviews

Good facility and location overall, terrible customer experience.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at Alohilani during our honeymoon. The lobby was great, check in was good, the facility is good. However, the service and the customer experience was very poor. When we got to our room upon checking in, we found a sheet of what looked like body hair on the bathroom floor, right by the bathtub. It was disturbing, but I just gave it a quick sweep and complained to the customer service. At the time, the front desk said they will waive 1 night of stay, which we were in agreement for. Then, they say that they will change the beddings every 2 nights, and throughout the 4 nights of stay, they did not change it at all. Also, my side of the king bed was sunk in in the middle, so it caused me to have back pain by night 3. We complained about these things upon checking out, and the front desk person did not even apologize but asked if we brought this to their attention earlier. And I did through their text messaging system, but never got any response from them. They did not offer anything for this poor experience. Then, the person also told us that because we booked through a third party (we used Expedia), they can only waive the resort fee, not the whole night stay that they promised before because of the sheet of hair. This really left a poor taste in my mouth and made this trip not as enjoyable as it could have been if the customer care were somewhat up to the standards. The facility and location are above average overall, the customer experience is poor.
Great Service and Stay
We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Great location that is walking distance to everything. Had a really fun time in Honolulu and the Concierge desk was great with recommendations in town and on the north shore! Zeb at the desk was super helpful, very kind. Jillian at the Front Desk, dropped some knowledge and welcomed us after a long flight. She gave us a list of awesome spots to hit and when she found out we were going to Maui, gave us places to dine, snorkeling spots, beaches. This hotel was great to come back to each day and watch sunset from the pool. Chill Beats at night and mellow fire pits to hang by. We plan on coming back here for sure. Honestly, From the people who greet you as you get out of your Uber to the housekeeping staff that was always quick with a hello, this spot is consistent in their attention to guests, friendly energy, and professional service. Also, the Ahi nachos at the pool are Ridiculously awesome. Loved the udon at the relaxed Mamosan restaurant on the ground level and caught some great Chill live guitar music in the lobby bar with the giant Aquarium. Thank you Jillian, the concierge staff! and the Alohalani, see you soon! Mahalo!
Wasn’t blown away
I booked this after looking at almost every hotel in Waikiki. It looked luxurious online and It felt decadent when we arrived. Once we got to our room it was clear that it used to be an old, average hotel that they’d redone and tried to turn into a 5 star hotel. There was some chipping in the shower and a few other spots that they’d overlooked in the renovation. The pool bar/restaurant was a nice space but the menu was very strange, everything was just slightly off. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have a balcony with a good view. The highlight of the hotel was the nice pool and the awesome morning water aerobics class! Another perk of this hotel was the lack of children, families don’t seem to book here which is fantastic.
Amazing pool, cozy, location perfect
The room itself wasn’t anything fantastic (the bathroom was super cramped and the lack of shower door left a lot to be desired). However, our oceanfront balcony was amazing and the location can’t be beat. Attached to two Morimoto restaurants and walkable distance to everything. What I LOVED- the infinity pool. I’ve never seen a pool with the chairs inside. How amazing! I recommend this place!
This is the most underrated sell at check-in. It’s almost like a Disney Club 33 experience when you ask “how about the Longboard Club” and the front desk says “ohhhhh (you discovered our gold mine)” We are talking hand curated cicerone and sommelier picked wine and beer at dive bar prices if you average over two people per room and have one drink an hour from 4-8pm. Add in Keala Kennelly (DJKK)for deep house tropical tracks and this is THE premiere Friday night in Waikiki.
