    Great until our last night.

    Overall, we really liked this resort. We upgraded to the Preferred Club, which I would do again. You get access to special restaurants and pools. Upon arrival you are provided with a cold drink and wet scented towel. As Preferred Club guests, we had access to a special lounge for appetizers and drinks. We were then given a tour of the property. Of course, we were pressured to partake in their special breakfast so they could do their high pressure time share pitch, which we declined. Food was your typical Caribbean resort food. The hotel was very well kept and all of the employees were helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was hit or miss. Sometimes our fridge would get stocked, sometimes not. Sometimes we would get the right amount of towels, sometimes we wouldn't get any. On our last night, we had a romantic dinner at the Italian restaurant. We came back to our room to find that there was a wedding going on just outside our room. The music was so loud, it shook our patio door. I had raise my voice in order for my wife to hear me. We complained to management and were told, "Sorry, but there is nothing that we can do." Despite a lot of positives, we'll be staying at a different resort on our next visit to Punta Cana.

    Family Vacation...You get what you pay for..

    Traveling with 6 family members, two rooms... when we arrived everyone is very pleasant and friendly...I had emailed the resort about 2 weeks prior to request an upgrade to the "Club". I never received a reply.. I asked at the desk if they would upgrade me to the Preferred Club,, I told them that I was a member of UVC... but this did not matter.. and I was put in a regular room..They only provide local liquor at the resort , so dont expect to find Jonnie, Henny or Jack in the bars...You need to make reservations at the A La Cart Restaurants... skip the Mexican,, the best was probably the Steak House.. The service in the resort is Hit or Miss... some employees would always greet you and others would ignore feel like you need to tip everyone to get "good" service.. Some employees that stood out with a great job were : Bandera from Pool Bar.. Modesto, Juan and Omar from the buffet... Fernando and Poche at the Steak House.. One employee that stepped out of line was Wilkin at the Steak House...he made my wife feel very uncomfortable and disrespected by winking at her while we had dinner.. this is not acceptable. Overall we did try to enjoy our vacation, did 3 excursions outside of hotel... but We have visited Mexico and Costa Rica and this Resort does not compare to any of them, at any level..I would not recommend this Resort to any of my friends or family.

    Great Resort

    I Loved this resort. Went with my 16 yr old daughter and we had an excellent vacation! The people there were very pleasant and friendly. The housekeeping staff was terrific. They kept our room very clean and filled the mini bar daily. The entertainment staff got everyone going and dancing. The pool was awesome and the beach was clean. The only complaint I have is that when we were there they did not have all the restaurants open. We were there for 6 nights and it was mostly just the same 2 restaurants open. Not much variety when it came to dinner. However, I would definitely recommend this resort.

    Great Hotel, Location, but!

    We went as a family of four in August 2019. We had upgraded to the preferred area after previous visits to the chains hotels. The rating in on the whole of the site and could easily have been lower but I feel that the hotel and services deserve a good score. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the grounds are kept immaculately. The staff were friendly and attentive and my favourite was Mervin at the Sandbar. Always ready with a drink whenever we went past and kept us supplied when chilling by the pool. The buffet was very good and the preferred only section was nice. elias and winston were excellent. The only moan was it took ages for soft drinks to arrive on occasion. The a la cartes were only open on alternate days which didn’t really bother us. We went to one in the evening and found the service slow and not as welcoming as the buffet. The food was ok but nothing special. The evening entertainment was good but the repetitive nature of the teams shows (even though the show names changed, the dances were the same) could be improved on. The external entertainers were of varying quality. Mr nobody was the best we saw whilst there. It was very hot every day and minimal rain which was an added bonus. Any storms passed very quickly and were mainly at night. The gym is good but fairly small so you have to time it well to easily access the facilities. There is no club for teens even though this was advertised to us and was a reason for choosing this hotel. Plenty on beds to lounge on but part of the hotel was being renovated so this would have contributed to this. Preferred service was good, quick check in/ out etc. but no real interaction unless you went to the lounges. However, the lounge access with premium beer etc was a nice extra. The rooms were very big with balconies and having a jet tub and separate shower was appreciated. Mini bar refill was supposed to be daily but had to chase on more than one occasion. The cleaners were excellent and the evening turndown was good. Bar service was excellent on most occasions but the odd day it seemed everyone was off and you saw no one for periods of time. Drinks were varied and of good quality. Extra premium offerings in preferred areas as well. Avoid the currency exchange as the rates are extremely unfavourable. However, the whole break was overshadowed by the improvement works going on. We were warned by Thomas Cook about some works being carried out 10 days before our departure but due to our circumstances we could not change hotel. We were only told it would be a little noise. So wrong!!! It was constant drilling every day from before 8am until after 7pm. In addition to banging and usual building works this was unacceptable. Perhaps the hotel should have closed for the period as it was impossible to appreciate the place due to this going on. I really hope the improvements make the hotel a top place as everything else is on point. We paid £8000+ for a two week holiday and this was marred by the work and the misleading information from the hotel. We paid for preferred and feel this extra benefit made no difference in this stay.

    Great Resort w lots of food

    Great Resort with lots of good vegetarian food option. Rooms are not viewing the beach so that's a bit disappointing but remember you are not in the room at all it's ok. Also keep in mind you don't get to drink premium brand alcohol without privilege membership which was additional $150 which you can get it over the reception counter.
