Now Larimar is a beautiful Resort! Everyone is very professional! Everyone treats you like you are the only person there! The best thing is if they didn't speak English - everyone knew enough to communicate to you to take you to someone who did!
Now Larimar Punta Cana
I came to Punta Cana for my first wedding anniversary. We both never stayed before in the Caribbean and by the comments this hotel was pretty much what we were looking for: decent price, all-inclusive and with many compliments of their service. The experience has been over the top. Before arrival we informed them about our special celebration and upon arrival we found a happy anniversary banner on the door and a delicious champagne in the room. Every night the housekeeper did a fantastic job decorating the room. Although, this is not an adult only property, we were able to relax and even try the dinner at the beach. It is an experience worth living if you come with your husband or boyfriend. We also went to the spa for a massage and I left feeling completely new. My suggestion is: not only do the all- inclusive, but also experience the extra services they offer. We agree that we will be more than willing to return.
The resort was just a awesome! Service was impeccable, and the food was great in the general food court area! Lots of variety bro accommodate every palate! Daily activities to also accommodate everyone, or you can just relax! Would return again!
Lovely hotel, amazing weather
Stayed here in July 2019 as a family of 4, daughters aged 13 and 10. Upgraded to premium service lounges - did this on arrival after a bit of haggling over cost. Glad we didnt pay full price for this though as I don't think it would have been worth it. Was nice to have the use of the premium lounges and the separate restaurant for breakfast in the morning overlooking the beach. Had to get our room changed - were given a ground floor room right next to the premium lounge door. I'm a light sleeper and spent the first night tossing and turning having been repeatedly woken up with corridor noise. Asked to be moved to a higher floor the next day which was arranged fairlt promptly. Rooms were nicely turned out and kept very clean - we had an inter connecting room with our daughters and each had separate bathroomsof a very decent size. Room service food was slightly below par and they messed up our food order the one and only time we got it. Pool/beach drinks service - you won't be served at your sunbed unless you tip basically! Even though the reception staff will tell you no need for tips - the Americans tip everywhere and we witnessed the difference in service ie.we didnt get any and they did! Didnt actually care because it was nice to get off the sunbed and walk about a bit for drinks/snacks, especially when it got very hot around midday and late afternoon. Beach is lovely apart from the seaweed - it is cleaned regularly every day but the noise and pollution from the tractors going up and down the beach is a bit annoying. It's nature I know but I think the hotel website and travel agents should make more of a point of acknowledging this issue so people can make a more informed choice if they would be happy with this or not. It's photoshopped out of all the resort photos on facebook, travel brochures etc. A lot of hassle from the Looky Looky men and women on the beach - I power walked along it every day with my earphones in, hat and shades on - they soon got used to me ignoring them but a pain when you wander down with the children and husband and get pounced on straight away - not the kind of stress or hassle you want when trying to relax and have a chat and a stroll with each other. Food - lots of choice in all the restaurants. Mexican - very slow service every time, some of the dishes were a bit dried up and chewy - like they had been sat around for a few hours before serving. Tepenyaki was exciting to watch - couldnt work out though how we were able to eat in that restaurant but just at the normal tables and not at the cooking demo area - went near the end of our stay so didn't get a chance to return and figure this out. Beware anyone with food allergies - we repeatedly mentioned our daughters egg allergy and somehow one on occasion in the restaurant overlooking the beach/pool area - she was given what we thought was just ice cream (which she had previously with no bother) but turned out it had bits of cake in it as well - had to leave quickly for her to be sick. Reported in to our concierge in the lounge later that day - but no follow up or apology thereafter - disappointed and expected better than this. It left our daughter ill for an afternoon and the rest of us running up and down to the room to check she was ok - an apology at the very least would have been appreciated. It's for this reason that I don't think we would consider returning to this hotel - attention to detail means everything when you have spent thousands on these kind of luxury hoildays and when you don't get it in relation to the wellbeing and care of your guests it speaks volumes and leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Would have scored this place 5 stars otherwise. Plus we all had diarrhoea towards the end of the holiday and it continued for over a week after returning home - even despite using bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth! On the plus side, meant I had nearly dropped a dress size by the time I was home! Generally a nice hotel, service questionable at times and dependant on tips and level of busyness in the various restaurants, maintenance and cleaning of a high standard.
