    Beautiful Property

    This is a fabulous resort. Rooms are clean. Staff are fantastic and welcoming. Food was delicious, staff are so accommodating. Pools are clean. Beach is clean and beautiful. Grounds are kept very well. Would definitely book again.

    Beautiful but spoilt by tipping

    This is our second time back to the Dominican Republic and so much has changed in 6yrs, for the worse. We stayed at secrets last time, loved the area so stayed at the family resort next door. The resort was lovely, clean, tidy. We felt completely safe. The pools were lovely, not too crowded. We upgraded to preferred, so we had the use of a few extra pools. The preferred pools were very quiet and lovely but the normal pools were not any worse to be honest. The biggest issue was tipping. It is absolutely awful. The service is completely hit and miss depending on if you have tipped pervious days. One day we were being served by a lady who was so rude and stand offish to us, I really thought we may have offended us somehow. She saw us getting a tip out and suddenly she couldn't do enough for us, ruffling our previously ignored child's hair etc. It was so false. One night at dinner we tipped a really lovely attentive waiter, he really was lovely. Then the next night there was basically a fight over us between him and another waiter. It was very embarrassing and too much. Our room was cleaned nicely each day, but just to a basic standard. Our plan was to tip house keeping on our last day to say thanks, but i actually bumped into her on about day 5 and gave her a tip then l. Since then our room was done so much better, chocolates on the pillow each evening when she turned the beds down etc. A far far superior service because we had bribed, I mean tipped. It is extremely insincere. It didn't even feel like tipping for good service but rather a bribe to get any service at all. Everything says it is all inclusive but it really isn't. Tips are a massive thing here. We didn't find this was the case a few years ago and it has really put us off. Tipping isn't a big thing in the UK, so I do feel it is part of America culture thst has been bought over and it has massively spoilt the place. My husband is adamant we won't be back, he really was not impressed with how it has evolved in 5yrs.

    Ruined wedding

    My wife and I decided to do a destination wedding ceremony, and went to Now Lamir. We were put into a room with no air conditioning, and they took more than a day to move us even after reaching out to management and Apple Vacations (our booking agency). We had to deal with our room safe being ripped apart after someone tried to break in, and we spent hours away from the friends and family that took time out of their lives to join us for our wedding to file reports that ultimately went nowhere. My wife started crying in the wedding planners office due to all the stress from issues we were having, and then the staff members started gossiping about it across the resort to our family and strangers. The day of the wedding, the wrong bouquet was sent over, which added more strain to what was supposed to be a stress free wedding. Later, the housekeeper threw the bouquet my wife had on the table drying to preserve away, and accused us of leaving it wrapped in a towel on the floor. We were offered no support with our issues during the trip, from Apple Vacations or the resort with staff ranging from unsympathetic to outright rude. Avoid this resort at all costs, we will forever regret hosting our wedding here.

    HOLA AMIGOS! Thank you for this amazing vacations!!

    It was my second time at Now Larimar but the first time I left a review. I went on 2018 but I was disappointed with the experience. This time I decided to give it another try and I´m glad I did it. The check- in was briefly but Reyes provided us with all the information about the hotel. Even recommended us to access to the webapp. This time I noticed a significant improvement on the quality of the food, as the variety on the buffet. But the thing that stands out this property of any other hotel I have visited is the team. People like Banderas, Wilkin, Fernando and Francisco at the restaurants deserve an acknowledgment for their friendliness and ability to foresee our needs. You guys are awesome.

    Great until our last night.

    Overall, we really liked this resort. We upgraded to the Preferred Club, which I would do again. You get access to special restaurants and pools. Upon arrival you are provided with a cold drink and wet scented towel. As Preferred Club guests, we had access to a special lounge for appetizers and drinks. We were then given a tour of the property. Of course, we were pressured to partake in their special breakfast so they could do their high pressure time share pitch, which we declined. Food was your typical Caribbean resort food. The hotel was very well kept and all of the employees were helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was hit or miss. Sometimes our fridge would get stocked, sometimes not. Sometimes we would get the right amount of towels, sometimes we wouldn't get any. On our last night, we had a romantic dinner at the Italian restaurant. We came back to our room to find that there was a wedding going on just outside our room. The music was so loud, it shook our patio door. I had raise my voice in order for my wife to hear me. We complained to management and were told, "Sorry, but there is nothing that we can do." Despite a lot of positives, we'll be staying at a different resort on our next visit to Punta Cana.
