Customer Ratings & Reviews

When we booked we couldn’t of imagined just how good it was actually going to be the facilities in the room were outstanding but the staff truly made that holiday unforgettable. The cleaners were amazing and we never came back to a room without a perfectly made up bed and every where was spotless even during tropical storms. The staff throughout the hotel were always so friendly and would go out of their way to make your holiday an unforgettable experience. The entertainment team are so talented and there was something new every night to watch. Couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough I have never stayed anywhere with such brilliant hospitality. The staff are a credit to this beautiful resort and country!
Overall, a great family resort!
I’ve been to other resorts in Punta cana but this was definitely the best one in terms of service, entertainment, and overall attentiveness. Food was good. One of our waiters, Poché was amazing every time he was our waiter. It’s good to see when someone truly enjoys what they do and enjoy making you smile and seeing you happy. The main pool was really good. Everyone enjoyed it from the kids to the grandparents. Nightly entertainment was also good. Really no complaints about this resort. Will def be returning with the family.
Not Many Places To Eat Are Open At Night
We stayed here and were disgraced by the poor amount of places to eat in the evening. When it is lunch and breakfast it’s great. Do not be scared if you see crabs in the hotel after a storm it’s normal.
Good first visit to Punta Cana
This was only my third time staying in an all-inclusive resort. Overall, Now Larimar is well appointed - rooms have a nice design, beach area is nice, pools are also nice, especially if you have preferred club status which gives you access to additional pools and restaurants. The nightly entertainment was good, but not outstanding in the actual show, more in that the people on the entertainment staff are clearly working really hard all day to keep guests engaged and entertained. The resort also worked hard to clear beach of seaweed regularly, but this section of Punta Cana definitely has a good amount of sargassum coming ashore. The one area that was not excellent was the food -- while there are a variety of offerings, the actual taste is just okay: Bluewater Grill and Mercure had some excellent dishes, but Tamarindo and Spice were a little on the flat side for me. The buffet always had good options in it, and a nice variety of food. The Coco Cafe is the best place to get coffee -- it's better there than at any of the restaurants, in my opinion. The house wines are decent but nothing to write home about -- if you really like wine, go ahead and buy one of their bottles, but pay close attention that they charge you for the correct bottle -- we almost paid $20 more because the wine we ordered was not what we were charged for. All in all, a good resort to stay in, although there are some areas to improve. Also, it was surprising to me that tipping was so much a part of the experience, when I thought the point of an all-inclusive was gratuities were included. Maybe I am missing something?
Don't waste your time here!
We are currently members of Unlimited Vacation Club and have been to various resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Unfortunately, Now Larimar is at the bottom of our list. The service here is awful. I was talking to an employee and he told me that the hotel is completely shutting down at the end of the month for renovations, and all employees will be let go for the 3 months that they will be closed. They are not being transferred to another resort. Thus, they are not trying their best to do an above and beyond job. Construction is currently going on now. Expect to hear loud hammering all day. Only about 2 restaurants open every night. Not much variety. The buffet food is very plain, and the chefs at the pasta/grill say "they are out" of anything you ask for besides chicken and a burger. Room service has been cold the 2 times we ordered. Bar staff on the beach are extremely rude. They didn't know my friend spoke spanish and were saying very rude things about him, thinking he wouldn't know. The only positives I can say are 2. 1, the maids do an amazing job cleaning the rooms daily. 2, the servers at the pool go above and beyond getting drinks. Now Larimar really needs new management to get to the level of other UVC resorts. Cannot even compare to Dreams Cabo or Now Puerto Vallarta. There is a lot to work on here.
