BEST RESORT EVER!!!!
Where do I even start, this place is amazing. This was my fifth time back at this resort with many more to come. The staff here are what make this place awesome first and foremost. The grounds are perfection and I love love the food. We met some really great staff who went out of their way to do everything in their power to make our trip great. A huge thank you to Abraham, Stephanie and Luis at the concierge area( you guys rock, thank you) , Javi our bike tour guide (so funny), Samuel our waiter most days at the lunch buffet by the pool area and the sweetest waiter ever at the main buffet Nehemias Tomas. I just love all the staff at this place. They are happy to help you with anything you need. They have management that are walking the grounds constantly checking quality controls and making sure everything is perfect. They never say no without trying their best to accommodate first. We had upgraded to the star prestige for the week which for my husband and I was great. If my husband didn’t golf I don’t think we would have upgraded but because we get two rounds of golf that pretty much pays for the upgrade itself. I love the upgraded beach area with the Balinese beds, they are amazing! With the upgrade you also get the top shelf liquor and beers but my husband does not drink and I had red wine at dinner and maybe 4 beers throughout the week so the alcohol part is not important to me but to some it is. They have grey goose and corona and Negra modela beer etc. From the time we checked in until the minute we left we were in pure paradise with what I now call friends. We will be going back in February and I can not wait! Thank you once again Paraiso Beach. Also this is one of 5 resorts on their property and although it is one of the mid range (the grand is their top resort) I prefer the Paraiso beach because of the open air lobby and buffets where you hear the wildlife and sounds of the water and ocean. I don’t like the stuffiness of the grand and the clientele that seem to go there are usually a much older quieter group. Most people I saw there were 65+. To me the Paraiso beach is the best there is. I will never go anywhere else!
Lovely Hotel - a few inconsistencies
I’ll begin by saying my wife & I have long preferred the Iberostar resorts, choosing to stay in these properties whenever they are available. We even chose to become Club members because of our affection for them, and they’ve never disappointed. In the Playa Paraiso complex, we’ve previously stayed at both the Maya & the Grand, and cannot say a negative thing. This trip, we brought our adult daughters & their partners to the Beach resort, a little more affordable for 6 persons. The resort is beautiful - pools are large & uncrowded. The restaurants decent, it’s a matter of figuring which ones are open on a consistent basis. While staying at the Beach, you have access to the restaurants at the neighbouring Del Mar resort, but when we tried to access these restaurants, quite often they were closed.(buffet). This made the Beach buffet very crowded most times we chose it. For breakfast & lunch, we used the restaurants closest to the beach, which was a pleasant change from the crowds at the main buffet. Housekeeping was consistent, but there seemed to be a lack of basic amenities - primarily where the mini bar was concerned. On numerous occasions, we found ourselves having to pester housekeeping for basics - bottled water & soft drinks were not replenished on a regular basis, same for the in room snacks. The ice machine outside our room didn’t work, so we were forced to ask for it to be bought to our room, which didn’t always happen. We tipped almost daily, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Our biggest beef, however, was the lack of attention shown by the Iberostar Club concierges. I won’t single anyone out, but, with a few exceptions, they were not very attentive or helpful. Things that are considered staples as far as Club amenities, we had to repeatedly pester the concierges for. I finally had a face to face with several of them to register my dissatisfaction, and there was some improvement. We felt particularly bad for our daughters, who were experiencing Club benefits for the first time. There were a few shining exceptions, and they should be acknowledged - Santiago, the bartender/server in the Club lounge, is OUTSTANDING at his job! He made us feel welcome every time we visited. Isaac & Yadira at the Beach Club area were also very attentive & engaging, and should be commended as well. Overall, we are in Mexico, a country we love, with surf, sand, great pools & decent food, so our stay wasn’t ruined by these inconsistencies, but the standards set by the other resorts we’ve had the good fortune of staying at weren’t met here, and that was disappointing.
This was our first time doing an all-inclusive resort. The Iberostar Paraiso Beach was recommended by our travel agent, Kelly Bryant, at Cruise Planners, and she nailed it! The resort was beyond beautiful and so inviting. Staff was amazing from house cleaning to the concierge. We enjoyed the food, the beach, the fabulous pool, etc. Shopping area on site was really cool and so convenient. We ended up booking an excursion while we were there, and it was fantastic as well. Big thanks to Oscar (front desk), Wendy (concierge), Joe and all the bell boys that helped make this trip over the top wonderful. WE would strongly recommend you check it out.
I have to have to recommend the Iberostar star in Riviera Maya. The staff is amazing! Mucho Gracias to Javi for water polo and just everything! To Miguel for amazing dance lessons and service. To Jimmy for being mi amigo and water polo y karaoke! Also Joselin again water polo y so much fun!!! Best star friends ever!!! We love you and can't wait to see you again 😘
