Excellent resort!! Amazing service, delicious food and drinks, relaxing and fun

we stayed at the Blue Bay for 7 days last week of may. since we started booking our room, when we got to the hotel even if it was super early Erendira and her team had our room ready which was a blessing after the long flight. they brought our bags on time and scheduled our departure as well on time and they were on the dot. we received as a welcome gift a fruit basket and a bottle of wine with a personalized tray which was a very nice touch. loved the way they keep the resort groomed and clean. everywhere you go you can see smiles and friendly "hello's", at the restaurants no matter which one we were they went over the board to make us feel like royalty! i wish i made a point in writing down the names of every one so they get the recognition they deserve like Agustin, Jorge in the french restaurant. restaurants were just wonderful tried to visit them all. we liked a lot the steak house and off course the Mexican restaurant. buffets were fresh and delicious! I loved to see wildlife roaming around looking at the beautiful blue birds. hearing the sounds of nature and seeing the stars at night time. and if you wanted to continue the party there were bars with music and dancing but you could still sleep peacefully. The room had the amenities that you need in the Caribbean, plus coffee delicious. was everyday cleaned through-fully and leaving a detail for us to enjoy. since its all inclusive they restock daily the mini fridge with water, sodas, beer. on Tuesday or was it thursday? they had a crafts market with really good local made crafts. good thing to mention is the mini shopping area. its really convenient to have it inside the resort. this resort is suitable for couples or families. has something for everyone. we are already thinking when we are going back with our family!! we really had a great time in Playa

    beach

on arrival at the blue bay we thought every thing looked good nice and clean and the staff was very helpful day one ,the room we was allocated was 6128 bottom floor noticed front door had some damage to it on the bottom panel and they was very thin so i reported this to reception we then had a walk to the beach on the way we noticed a smell like rotting fish as we got to the beach we than saw 20 or 30 mounds of rotting seaweed the smell was unbearable . i asked the life guard on duty what was going on i was told it has been like this for 18 months or more .and as there was a red flag warning no one could enter the water i was surprised that TUI never informed us of this problem .if we was informed i would have booked some where else the pictures on your web site say white sand beach blue sea not the case after a night in are room with no sleep due to the noise from people coming in ,suitcases getting dragged along .the walls and door are so thin i thought people was in my room we asked to be moved but was told we could only upgrade at a cost of over a 100 pound per day 3 days in we where having the same food every day and some times the food from dinner was being used for breakfast we then went to the black and white bar and ask for a certain drink and was told we could not have any top shelf drinks as we was not VIP or we could have one if we paid for it on the 5th day i tried to sort a early flight home but could not transfer flights i would have to pay for new flight

    Last Minute Break

Excellent Five Star Hotel, Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable with king size beds. Each Accomodation block has a dedicated concierge who will look after your every need. Two buffet style restaurants where casual clothing is allowed and A la cartel restaurants for fine dining, Mexican, French, Italian, oriental, Seafood and Steaks, where long trousers are required. 6 bars serving international brand spirits and local beers, one of which is 24 hour. Shops including a pharmacy on site. Staff are cheery and eager to please and nothing is too much trouble for them. Exchange facility in the main reception, but the exchange rates are not great. Three pools with waiter service and ample sun beds. All in all well recommended.

    Excellent resort!

We stayed for two weeks from 1st to 15th of May 2019 and we had a wonderful trip. We had no expectations, particularly as the price we paid was not as much as we had paid previously for visits to similar resorts. On arrival we were swiftly checked in, we were given a room in Block 6, which although a little dated, it was comfortable and spotlessly clean and we grew to love it! We were greeted with a wonderful welcome gift of a display of fruit, a bottle of wine and a personalised greetings plate which was a wonderful touch and very much appreciated by us after such a long trip! This resort is quite large but beautifully kept, with beautiful walkways, amazing plantation and preety lighting at night. Personally we loved walking on this resort, we never used the option of the golf buggy for transport as we found when walking we could see so much of the incredible wildlife, the coatis are in abundance and most days we saw the reptiles and deer so close you could almost touch them, it blew me away to be honest! The staff here are incredible, really incredible, they made us feel so well looked after, nothing was too much trouble, we met so many staff who worked so hard, always with a smile on their faces and always making you feel that they wanted to look after you! No matter which bar or restaurant we went to, we got 100% great service from them all. They are a credit to you! The food was simply wonderful! So much choice and so much care and consideration went into preparation and presentation! The buffet restaurant was great and we loved that they had table-cloths and had an area suitable for families and an area suitable for couples, it was all so well thought out! The al-la-carte restaurants were just perfect, we visited them all. I particularly loved the French and the Italian, but we had a great experience at them all and had many repeat visits too! The entertainment staff here are incredible, they work so hard and provide so much fun and laughter around the pool, even if you did not want to join in, it was great fun to watch. However no matter what age you were whether you are 8 or 80, there is something for everyone! I even won a little prize myself :) The range of activities were beyond amazing, from bringing in dancing horses one day to celebrate Mexican day, to going to the effort of putting up zip wires across the pool to regular foam parties, it was all happening and such great fun to watch! The staff themselves were so much fun, great to have conversations with and very approachable. They also put on excellent shows at night but we did not watch to many of these as we were often exhausted by this time so we would be wearily wandering back to our room after a long and eventful day! One other thing to mention that I loved about this hotel is that they have a very well organised bus and taxi service in operation on resort. If you want to go anywhere it is sorted professionally and efficiently and a very welcome asset to someone like me who can often find it daunting to get around in a strange country, but the service provided made it all so simple! I have no idea why this resort gets so much bad feed back, we talked to a lot of people on holiday and everyone was as happy as we were so it is a mystery. Yes the beach has been affected but that is nature and the staff work so hard , trying to make the best of it! The only difficulty we had is that there are no parasols around the pool, only stable shaded areas which are popular and difficult to find so you can end up finding it difficult to get shade from the very hot sun. We would have much preferred the use of a parasol with our sun bed. May I take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you at Blue Bay Esmeralda, we had such a wonderful holiday with you! :)

    Wonderful 2 week stay

Arrived back in the uk from a fabulous 2 week holiday here, I would firstly like to mention my only real negative. The majority of bar staff are very slow in serving you unless you’re female or holding tip money out. This is my one and only negative. We stayed in block 6 and travelled as a group of 10 family and friends. All our 5 rooms were fully functioning with good water pressure and temperature and were cleaned to a very high standard daily. The grounds are well kept and pretty. All staff seem to work hard and mostly with a smile. We tried the french steak house Italian and Mexican a la cartes the french was the best closely followed by the steak house. Thank you to willy in the steakhouse for making our friends 50th birthday meal a real treat! My favourite staff members were Teresa in the festival mornings and lunch. She was fab, so cheerful and chatty and made us smile every morning. Also Sinatra in the festival evenings. I may have misspelled these names. They both were deserving of a special mention! Jorge who drove the shuttle around the site was brilliant. These guys deserve a reward for making our stay so memorable! The food was delicious at all meals and always hot. We did not struggle to eat at all! A few of us did have a dodgy tummy slightly but this could not have been due to food as well all ate differently. We attributed it to the heat and not keeping hydrated as it was boiling every day! It passed quickly and did not disrupt our holiday! The beach does have a seaweed problem as does the whole coastline in this area at the moment. They are trying to clear it, but unfortunately it’s a thankless task and the smell can become quite nasty. Both pools were lovely and we received good waiter service when we were there. Activities are by the main pool and the animation team work hard to include as many people as possible without being overly forceful. My top tips are pack light, it’s hot here! Drink lots of water all the time. Take Imodium with you in case as the shop there is way over priced! Tip the good staff as they deserve it! Go on excursions! We went to tulum coba and chichen itza and loved these. Also swam in a cenote which was fab. Go on the alltournative trips if you can as these are the best! We had no bother from any circle one timeshare people at all! Thanks to all at bbge it was wonderful and I wish I was still there!
