Excellent place to visit
I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends. The staff was very friendly. The facility was absolutely beautiful the food was delicious in every restaurant. The activity staff was excellent
Not a good experience for a first time visit to a resort
If all resorts on the Riviera Maya are like this one, I will Air BnB it on my next visit. Front Desk staff at check-in was not friendly, he actually grimaced when asked to repeat something. Did not have the same in-room amenities that our friends had. No coffee maker in rooms, had to order through room service which took 45 minutes (one coffee cup even had a chip out of the rim). Was here on business and host selected resort. Most people in group told host to not use resort again.
June 2019 Vacation
This was our first time visiting Dreams Tulum. The resort itself is beautiful! Grounds are meticulously maintained and constantly being cleaned. Not much wildlife to see...mainly iguanas hanging out by the pool/beach but that was about it. The only restaurants we got a chance to visit were the Steak, Italian and Mexican. The steak restaurant was our least favorite. Mexican was OK but typical for an all inclusive. The Italian was our favorite of them all. Best dinner of the week by far!! The buffet was excellent for breakfast. Had tons of choices and everything was fresh. Dinner was OK at the buffet but nothing to brag about. Also, the Barefoot Grill for lunch was amazing! You could walk right up out of the pool and grab an amazing lunch whenever you wanted! Our room was on the 3rd floor in building 7. Air conditioning was not so great (our room never got cooler than 74 deg. F). And what was weird was that the only ceiling fan in the room was located over the sitting area instead of the bed. Other than that, room was very clean and comfortable. Beach area was rather small and is LOADED with seaweed and rocks making it un-swimmable. In fact, we never even went in the ocean and spent most of our time in the pool. Obviously, no fault of the resort's. The staff worked tirelessly to clean up as much of the seaweed as possible every day. Very disappointing! The pool is where we spent most of our time. Plenty of space for everyone and the swim-up bar was super convenient. Bartenders were always happy to get us whatever we wanted. The resort staff planned plenty of activities for the guests in the pool which was nice. Even if you didn't want to participate, you were still entertained just watching. Foam party was the best. We had a blast! Overall, it was a nice trip. Wish it was a little close to the airport as the drive was just over an hour long. If you want great service, this is a great place to go! Well done Dreams!
Security cameras don't reach part of the pool where, my wife lost her cellphone wallet, and the staff wasn't to interested in helping, my suggestion is that every area should be cover, it will be safer for everyone. Some of the servers at the coco cafe needs to understand that they are there to satisfy the customer or to argue and try to be smart trying to make look that you order the wrong way, knowing they made it wrong
Resort amazing food subpar
Resort was beautiful, staff was excellent, hotel rooms were very nice, food was subpar. Cheap americanized food, dessert was horrible, the frozen dessert at your local grocery store tastes better. The Mexican restaurant was cheap americanize food. The one time they got right was on wednesday night they had a fiesta, the mexican food tasted authentic! That was the only time I really ate a lot of food on the trip. Don't get conned into their timeshare when you arrive, just ask for your room. You will waste half a day.
