    Always improving

I am not long back from another visit to this hotel which continues to improve all the time under the management of the Memories brand. It was the first visit for me at this time of the year and I came prepared for some cooler evenings which had been forecast. It was actually a nice change from the usual hot and humid nights. Really, there is nothing to complain about although some seem to find fault in anything that they can for no reason whatsoever. Food is good and plentiful in all restaurants including the buffet where you will always find something to eat. Staff are one of the things that make this resort and everyone regardless of their role goes out of their way to ensure that all guests have the best stay possible. Location of the hotel is in a quiet, unspoiled and beautiful area with lush green hills one side and a coral reef the other just a few meters from shore, making it possible to go snorkeling directly from the beach without having to take a boat or pay for an excursion. It is a great place for nature lovers and also a good place to come and de-stress and do as little or much as you want. A short car ride from many attractions that Cuba has to offer also make it a great base to explore. The close proximity to Havana makes it also a popular location for people looking for easy access to the capital city. See you again soon

    Beach yoga

Stayed at the most amazing memories Jibacoa .. we can not fault anything. The staff are amazing and so helpful, the best we have ever experienced. I was made extra special by Jean Short who took the daily yoga class on the beach.. she made the yoga very accessible to all. Very relaxing and a great way to start the day.. such a lovely person.

    Never Disappoints!!!

We have just returned yet again from another fabulous vacation at our "Cuban home". The weather was awesome, the food was good and the rum was good AND plentiful!! Thank you so much to the staff of Jibacoa, who make this such a special place to visit each and every year. David, Kiki, all the ladies at the front desk, Juan Miguel, Ariana, Oralys in the the Buffet and beach bar, Damaris in a la carte reservations, the lady who cleaned our room every day, Yendri, Marcos, Janny, Victor and all of the other entertainment staff, the student, Jose - I only mention a few; everyone here is just fabulous and treats us so royally. They are they reason we keep coming back! Looking forward to our next trip "home" already.

    Butlins in Cuba

My husband and I have been all over Cuba and obviously love the country which is why we return. This hotel was a Virgin Holidays package. The hotel is advertised as a QUIET resort away from the hustle and bustle and noise of Havana. This maybe true until you get to 10am then the entertainment team never stops until 11pm at night. Around the pool is well maintained and could be a relaxing haven ,however drum and bass club music starts once the water aerobics finishes, it is so loud you can hear it through noise cancelling headphones if you want to listen to your own music. Groups of people who wanted to drink all day and play volleyball in the pool was something else to endure ,not that I have a problem with that I am not the fun police I just wanted to be aware of the type of hotel this was before I booked, so if you believe the website about been a tranquil resort think again. The rooms are always basic in Cuba and clean here was no exception the maids work long days and very hard ,our room was spotless every day and we never had to ask for towels or water in our room. The beach is not as nice as the south side of Cuba but this is not the hotels fault just be aware of the false pictures which show white sandy beach,. There are vendors on the beach asking for you to buy things also I spoke to them in spanish and we were not bothered again however there was no mention or a warning of this prior to our visit . The waiting and bar staff are very professional and always pleasant. The food is appalling, to the point you don't actually recognise what it is, appart from the fruit which was fresh and delicious. As I put earlier in this review I have spent time in different parts of Cuba and always enjoyed the local cuisine to the point where I was actually looking forward to eating the Cuban menu again ,BUT, this hotel trys to cater for a European or Canadian palate and my God I wish they wouldn't. This is to British holiday makers the equivalent of Butlins holiday camp trying to do a Cuban holiday can you imagine how horrendous that would be? There are much better places to stay in Cuba and any one who has been here and been put off ,don't be, Cuba is a beautiful country with fantastic culture and traditions to see the real Cuba and taste the food stay somewhere else.
