The resort speaks for itself. What made my stay more than incredible was the staff. I wish I could write about everyone, but 3 stick out. Every morning, I went to get an iced coffee at the bar. The staff quickly caught onto my routine and would start preparing it before I even asked! They were so friendly, and I got excited to go visit them every morning. Meraly, Florencia, and Chepina - thank you so much! You all deserve 5*****.
La Perla at Paradisus was amazing. We stayed in royal service adults only and it was relaxing, clean, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious (with TWO bathtubs and rainfall showers) and well maintained. Beautiful pool, not overly crowded compared to the regular adult side. It was worth the upgrade and the food was decadent. Service at la palapa and from staff in general was beyond all expectations and absolutely thorough. In particular, we'll remember a few people from this trip for their excellent guest service: Danura, Fernando, Carlos, Berenice, Abraham, Antonio, Alfredo, and Elias. We will be back soon and look forward to seeing them again. La palapa and fuego were our favorite restaurants- beautiful decor and intricate menus.

Paradise at The Paradisus
We spent only 1 week at this beautiful well groomed resort. Over all I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The food, service, rooms everything is top notch. One of the most beautiful beaches along the Mayan that we have been to for a while. The resort is trying very hard to protect the beaches from erosion from high winds and waves. I have a few complaints but very minor. Coffee pots in rooms, I’m on holidays i want to relax and have a cup of coffee on the deck and enjoy the view, not have to walk to a restaurant to get a cup of coffee for it to be cold by the time i get back to my room. Extra charge for use of Bali beds....really! NO one used them because of that. Room service breakfast menu should have more than fruit and yogurt on it, a little variety would be nice. Paradisus resort I feel is on the same level as a SECRETS or KARISMA....but Paradisus charges for all the little extras, ex Bali beds, room service. We are Melia members and over all we were satisfied with the extras we had offered to us. BUT..... I was very disappointed that we werent upgraded being members and also had a member birthday certificate to be up graded and was not able to be upgraded while non members where upgraded. Even though I have minor complaints I would highly recommend this resort and I would return.
Surpassed Expectations for an All Inclusive (4.5 rating)
This was a wonderful resort all around. Apart from the beautiful grounds, pools and well equipped rooms, there were some highlights. The gym was excellent. Although I haven't stayed at many all-inclusives I was surprised to find a number of fitness classes were included (HIIT, Core, Functional Training and Yoga). I only attended a HIIT class but it was excellent. The classes are offered daily and a schedule is posted in the gym. There were also many cardio machines and weights available. I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant dining. We ate at Palapa, Fuego, Vento, Bana, Mole, The Grill and the sushi bar next to Bana. They were all excellent. If you like sushi definitely fit in a meal at the sushi bar. The morning buffet at Hadar was also very good. It would have been nice to have a buffet choice for lunch and dinner on the adults only side. (Hadar was only open for breakfast) but food on the Esmerelda side was very good. It just tended to be fairly noisy and hectic. Overall service was excellent. Everyone from the bar staff, housekeepers, restaurant wait staff, front desk staff, and generally anyone walking through the resort you happened to encounter was pleasant and helpful. A special shout out to the activity staff - Dora, Hector, Alan, Harbey - who went the extra mile to make this a memorable stay for us and our adult kids. They organized pool aerobics, beach volleyball, stretching, ping pong, dance lessons, etc. etc. and did it with limitless enthusiasm. Omar was a big help for us in booking dinner reservations for our party of 8. Arturo at the pool bar took care of all of us as did Joaquin at the Sunset Grill (poolside food). There were a couple of reasons I did not give this resort the top rating. We stayed here while the resort was hosting a large contingent from NAPA. On our last day we were advised via signs posted throughout the pool area that a large event was being set up at 3 pm - which we found out later meant we had to vacate the pool area at 3. Everyone was moved to a smaller pool with limited facilities, not enough pool chairs and a few broken umbrellas (they did let us use cabanas). A DJ was set up and staff did their best to make it into a fun pool party but we felt a bit put off with being relegated to an inferior space. This wasn't a huge issue but it left a negative impression on our last day. Another irritant was the use of personal speakers. On a couple of days some guests used a speaker poolside. Generally you can live with generic music played by the resort, but when that is in competition with music you would rather not listen to, it is annoying. Also, on a few evenings the room directly below us (facing the pool area) played very loud explicit rap music through their balcony (one evening until 10 pm) which I'm sure could be heard by any rooms facing the main pool. Use of personal speakers in public areas should be monitored and managed by resort staff. I would absolutely book this resort again. If I could, I would avoid dates when large groups are booked into the resort.
