Came with my kids for my 60th. They picked the resort. Very nice place. If you want to be quiet you can, if you want to be loud you can! Food and service were excellent! If you can't find something off that buffet this type of resort is not for you! The staff were always friendly and because we tipped consistently we always had great service above and beyond. Beach is amazing and we spent 2 or 3 hours everyday on a lounger under the palms and running out to battle the waves. Great fun! Bring a cheap pair of sunglasses because you will lose them to that rouge wave! We had absolutely no issues with bugs, sand fleas, mosquitoes, etc... The pools are kinda broken up into party and quieter pools but nothing during our week outrageous... Met people from U.K. a few Americans, French Canadians, the shows at night were typical resort shows nothing overly special but well presented. The neon party on the Wed. was a blast! we drank the booze in our rooms, drank drinks with ice, used the tap water to brush our teeth no issues. Take at least 30 sunscreen if you are going this time of year. The sun is intense!!! All in all a great holiday.
Hands down the best servers/ bartenders were Wilbur, Pedro, Juliana, Angelo, and Noel!! They are always amazing! Made the trip so much more fun with their awesome personalities! Always smiling and made sure our drinks were full. Sports bar staff was always poor, took forever to even get noticed. The housekeeping in room 4065 wasn’t very good. I even had my makeup thrown in the sink one day. Overall was a fun trip!
UNBELIEVALBE VACATION :)
We travelled to the Riu Republica at the end of September for a 1 week stay. I have travelled to many of the popular countries over the past 30 years but this resort was by far one of the best I have ever experienced. I must say that I was a little apprehensive after booking given the recent negative attention D.R. has received in the media. I contacted the resort directly via email and was reassured that SAFETY for everyone is extremely important and I need not feel unsafe while there. They were 1000% correct!! They took every precaution (with security in the entire resort and on the beach) to make sure that guests felt safe at all times. The food was INCREDIBLE throughout the entire resort - the buffets (the breakfast was incredible-you want for nothing), the a la carte restaurants (no reservations needed), the jerk chicken station (better than Jamaica). The resort was extremely clean, the rooms were lovely, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing beach & pools, fun nightly shows with professional performers. But by far - this resort is SO MUCH FUN!! Waterslides, pool foam parties, beach party, neon party, competitions (arm wrestling, beer drinking contest...), great sports bar/disco/music.If you want quiet, there is that too at one of the many pools in the resort. We loved this resort/vacation so much - we are going back again in January to DO IT AGAIN :). We don't generally repeat a resort with there being so many to choose from BUT this is definitely worth a return visit.
Loved this place. The staff was really friendly. 3 bartenders that went above and beyond before our wedding ceremony and always very courteous and outgoing were Noel, Wilbur, and Angelo. Be prepared to walk. It’s a huge resort and it feels like you walk everywhere. Drinks were great and the food was ok. The wedding was fine. I think for the price of it, it should have been a little more secluded than it was. It was on the beach and right next to a crowd of people lounging in chairs. And I mean right next too the chairs. Like 10 feet away. Great time of year to come, not extremely busy. Never had a wait for any restaurants if you went to dinner at 6:30-7. The best two were the Italian restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. The turn down service was kind of bad. Never replaced the sheets and only straightened the bed also gave new towels. Plenty of stuff to do each day. I recommend the boogie excursion. It’s 4 hours and super fun. Over all it was a great 9 days.
The BEST VACATION
This is my second stay at Riu Republica. The hotel was cleaned, and the food is pretty good. The staff is friendly and well prepared to answer any question and take care of all our needs. The entertainment was great. NEON Party and the RIU PINK POOL PARTY were the best... I plan to visit next year. My only constructive criticism is the smoking... outside of that GREAT
