Excellent Hotel - Staff are it’s finest assets,
Top level praise for Westin Playa Bonita but, Be warned against booking through Voyage Privéi can’t praise the Hotel and Staff highly enough, especially Iris, Darlen and Ivan (the door-man) highly enough! The Staff were why we returned on our second visit, inside a year- Staff combined and worked hard not only to ensure we enjoyed every moment of our holiday, but also to correct and heal the catastrophic errors made by Voyage Privé [VP] who totally disregard the anxiety and stress they caused us, last year by not booking or paying for our flights, and this year for neither booking our Hotel, nor our airport transfers... when we could check-In for our Lufthansa flights last year and phoned them directly 5 hours was due to leave they told us VP simply hadn’t reserved our flights, so we had at 1 AM to pay again in full for flights to Panama via Berlin leaving at 06.45.This year was worse.Whilst our flights were booked & paid for, VP thought it fun for us to arrive in Panama ( via Houston with UA who o lost our luggage - not the fault of VP) to find no transfer and our Hotel neither booked or paid for...! Thank goodness the Wonderful Darlen who by chance was in Reception remembered us, and worked very hard to ensure all would go smoothly. After travelling wenty-four hours. We are still on holiday in the Westin but, we have written 5times to VP and even tweeted them to ensure flights etc are booked home fist thing on Thursday. On day nine, we still wait a response
The hotel was goreous. The staff was so accommodating & made my boyfriend's birthday so incredibly special without me even having to ask. The spa was very relaxing. Our couples massage therapists were Damaris & Yorllani. Damaris was able to tackle all of my stress points, very knowledgeable in deep tissue massage therapy. The breakfast was very good. Every morning there is an omelet chef & a bottlee of champagne nearing the freshly squeer juice station. There are 5 pools with an outdoor bar in which you can also order meals. You can literally step onto the beach from the outdoor swimming & sunbathing court. There are a couple of restaurants within the hotel that are absolutely wonderful to dine at. This hotel definitely has a resort feel. 5 star experience all around!
This resort is great. The food was sooo good. The staff are very polite and helpful. The water is warm and the drinks are cold. One of the staff members named Billy Jean recognized me when we went on the canal day trip as she works at the resort and the canal tours. She watched over us and made sure we were happy. When we got off the canal trip we could not find our transportation so she drove us back to resort in her car. Its staffing like her that make a resort memorable and I hope by reading this review it helps you decide you book at the westin. Being in a different country and not speaking the language can be tough and scarey. The westin truly takes care of you while you are their.
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an extended holiday. We had an ocean view room with a balcony, gorgeous view of the beach and the ships waiting to enter the canal. The room was clean, with fresh linens, and a safe and refrigerator. The breakfast buffet was very large , with a large variety of items, with indoor as well as outdoor seating. The grounds were well manicured and landscaped. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. No wait for the elevators, as we were on floor 13 and found an elevator quickly each time. The only problem we encountered was the concierge was not available all the time. The check in desk people tried to assist, but could not always help us. We finally found Sojoi , who was able to locate and book the tour we wanted. She was fantasic ! The beach is very nice to walk and swim in high tide. The water was clean and very warm. Nice walk along the entire beach. Pools were well kept up . Gelato bar open till 9 downstairs. We would definitely stay here again.
great conference hotel, and feels remote (even though it's not)
this was my 2nd time at this resort -- both of them for conferences. it's a wonderful hotel for a conference, with plentiful seating options for meals (so the lines are never too long), and easy walks to all corners of the property. my room wasn't on the ocean side this time (it was on my first stay), which was a disappointment until i realized i was in a beautiful 2-room suite.
