AVOID! Staff unwilling to help
I could elaborate on several different aspects of my stay, some positive and some negative, but I'll just mention one in detail. We booked an excursion through their tour desk and wanted to use a $20 voucher they give you at check-in. When we tried to use the voucher at time of booking, the lady said that since we were charging the fee to our room, we can use the voucher at check-out when we pay for all of the extra services. However, at check-out, they wouldn't accept the voucher and said we had to present the voucher at time of booking. I explained that we tried to do that, but we were told to wait until check-out. Clearly there was a miscommunication or misinformation given. After explaining this multiple times to different supervisors and managers, they still refused to honor the voucher. Then, they changed the reason altogether and said that voucher didn't work on that particular excursion (even though at booking, we were given prices that were $20 less because she knew we had the voucher). So be aware that this is the type of company you are dealing with at PH. After spending literally thousands of dollars to stay there, they are unwilling to credit just $20 to make up for a misunderstanding or even just make a guest happy. I could go on about other ways they let us down, but this should give you an idea of how they treat their guests.
We had an amazing time in Planet Hollywood In Costa Rica. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we’re so glad we chose Planet Hollywood. The accommodations was wonderful the food delicious the staff were so friendly and helpful especially Yuneimy she made us the best cup of coffee our first day there she made us feel at home. A special thanks to Yuneimy ! Can’t wait to go back.
Credit card was compromised first day! From checking in ....
Hotel asked for credit card for check in processing.... the same night it was compromised 3 times then once a day for 7 days we were there... visa canceled it right away but we were stuck there with no credit card for excursions or any other reason we needed it... every time it was trying to be accessed was different amounts raging from 100 to 1500 dollars... thanks to visa for catching it... but for a an expensive resort there should be safe guards put in place... now to my reviews The hotel is definitely on the higher end of all inclusive.... no way walking around is possible cuz it’s built on a hill, golf carts are ready available The beach is horrible!!! Unusable with out water shoes , the tides roll in and out bringing sharp debris,,, and dry black sand is extremely hot will burn feet in flip flops They have monkeys there but are brought in by locals who are trained to steal so be careful what u bring to the beach where they trained to stay... u won’t see them by the pool... If u don’t have star class upgrade all restaurants are an hour wait no matter what cuz they reserve tables for star class and all of the restaurants are very small like 12 tables That’s all star class is worth the upgrade for.... so if u hate waiting then spend the extra 400 each person.... Day time entertainment is weak staff dance around try and get ppl involved but become annoying... Foam part they try and be like other resorts but only have one foam maker and barely does anything it’s brutal Food is good other then the buffet not so good there And always line ups to get in,,, not enough tables because 3/4 saved for star class, got so bad they had to seat ppl in star class cuz ppl were complaining Beer was typical resort beer... they had decent booze till they ran out and barely got replaced... but night time bars were able to find it from some where but not pool bars... no taxes charged when used resort credits for me , but they did screw my credit card up so who knows Would I return ? No it’s far away from anything like malls other cities ect... took water taxi paid cash to resort to coco beach (vendors on beach charged 60 per person resort charged 30) coco beach town was fun drinks n food cheap, rent a golf cart, beach was horrible
planet hollywood through the eyes of a seasoned traveller
I have travelled to 50 destinations in the ladt 13 years. I do not leave reviews but doing so after this visit would be an injustice to the people at planet hollywood. We stayed in the producers suite (their best room) for 1 week. We had a gentleman named Henry as our butler. Henry is a truly gifted person in his field and he does not stop giving. He made our stay unforgettable and His caring attention to every tiny detail will not be forgotten. I have been to many hotels much nicer and more expensive than this but have never received the type of service that Henry provided. Henry truly loves & takes pride in his work and it shows. I hope that He finds this so he can feel the pride he deserves for the job he does there. Next on to the entertainers. Alex & Chandas acrobatic, contorsion and fire shows are not to be matched at any resort. The quality of their performances can only be matched by spending $100’s of dollars to go and see a cirque du soloeil show. Valeria, Carla & Ronny dancing behind them is definitely a site to see. All of them are always ensuring that everyone in the crowd is engaged and having a great time.We had my 66 year old mother in law with us. She was widowed a few years back. The dancers made sure that she was on her feet having fun every night and for making her smile every night I would like to applaud them. There are many, many more people from entertainment, the restaurants and bars and even the golf cart drivers that made this more memorable than any of my vacations to date and I apologize that I can not name them all. The hotel is nice the food is good but the PEOPLE at this place are the only reason for me to go back. I do not visit the same resort twice as I like to experience different things but the people mentioned above have given me no choice but to rebook and Im now looking into a december trip to revisit. I myself am a business owner and understand the value that greatly dedicated workers bring to a business. Planet Hollywood...... take good care of your people as they go above and beyond to take care of your reputation on a daily basis.
Our trip to Costa Rica in November 2019 and the stay at the Planet Hollywood was beyond amazing.
From the moment we arrived to when we left I felt like I was treated like a star as was my family. We were introduced to Planet Hollywood (PH) and meet our Star Agent Henry who was amazing throughout the trip. We went to our rooms which were all together in the same building. Throughout the week at the Star class pool, our attendants Wolfgang, and Fernando treated us like “stars". We paid the extra money for Star class but I really did not appreciate until we were there the true value. Daily we had an hour free at the SPA hydrotherapy centre and what a refreshing time. Our rooms and selection of pillows, premium liquor and all the amenities was amazing. The excursions were amazing we saw a humpback whale teaching her two little ones to spy hop, breach, regulate temperature with their fins, to a sunset cruise on a catamaran, going into Nicaragua and looking first hand into a live volcano. We went to Coca Beach, snorkelled, swam, kayaked, and played in the pool. The food was plentiful, and much enjoyed. The weather was really great - dry and hot. No one got third degree sun burns and we definitely used up the sun screen. I would recommend PH to anyone going to Costa Rica and would certainly stay again there. The beautiful black fine sand was amazing and to think of all the volcano's in the region that has shaped the landscape. Lots of rich history in Costa Rica. The Rosenberg family
