Rick and jos first Jamaican holiday

What can I say. It was a brilliant holiday For the money it was fantastic Nice staff Great food. Good accommodation Looking at other reviews, what do you people want? Get real. The people there were lovely to us. I think if you go with an attitude you will look for negatives Only downside for me was the attitudes of the staff at the airport and the queuing at the airport I'm definitely going back to this hotel

My stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay - Long overdue review

Hello, This review is more than long overdue... My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in April 2019. I believe we were in room 25723 on the 7th floor. We loved it so much, we are going again in April 2020. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms very clean and the food...well...I was expecting to just be fed but. OMG did I get a surprise. The food was delicious and there were so many wonderful dishes to choose from. You feel like eating something, chances are you will find it! The staff was always kind and polite. Regarding the beach, I was told it would be smaller and a little rocky...If you have water shoes, you will have no problems. I honestly do not have any complaints nor would I change anything. I loved my stay and can't wait to go back.

    Very nice resort

This was my second time to this resort. My husband and I brought 6 other family members with us this time. The only complaint I have was the outdoor restaurant for lunch. The amount of flies freely landing on the food makes the food unsafe to eat in my opinion. This resort like others I’ve visited should make sure everything is covered and free of insects. I went into this restaurant upon arrival and immediately left. Rooms were comfortable. The luxury small lagoon like beach area was very nice to just sit and relax (not swimmable as it’s shallow). If you want to swim etc you would have to take a long walk to the principe (family side). Overall, I enjoyed my vacation and so did my family.

    Highs and Lows

We vacationed here, two weeks ago, attending a family wedding. Having been a frequent traveller to Jamaica, there were many aspects of this resort that I have compared to my other stays, and generally not to the positive. We had an Oceanfront room, so the balcony is amazing. We were in the turret portion, which had view of both the ocean and pool area. Surprisingly, there was a lack of furniture on the balcony. The room was clean, although the door to the bar fridge was broken. The bathroom is quite nice, and good water pressure. Separation from the Grand resort is good and well enforced. The Grand is open to families, while the Luxury is adults only. That being said, the Luxury side is rather rowdy in the pool area, or was during our visit. The lobby bar was great, and if you tipped, they were incredibly quick and efficient. It made for a great central area. Tipping at this resort seems to be essential to better service. The food was up and down. The Rodizio (Brazilian Steakhouse) was excellent. The meat was beautifully cooked, although the other food was average at best. The Asian restaurant was mediocre, while the Picasso was good. Service in all of the restaurants was excellent. The biggest let down was the buffet style lunches. The food was uninspired. The breakfasts were average. There was a good amount of choice, but quality varied. The beaches were the biggest let down. The beaches, with the exception of the furthest west on the family side, were all man made. The sand is rough and stoney, both in and out of the water. The north side of the island has a lot of rough weather and wave action, so there are break walls built which allows you to be able to get in the water. Perhaps in a few years, this will be a better area of the resort. As for the wedding, it was well planned, but aspects of it were disappointing. The photographer did not do a good job, especially given the cost. The dinner at the reception was a bit of a let down and when it came to pack up at 10 pm, the workers moved in and disassembled the place in minutes. I understand that they are on a time clock, but the transition was abrupt. The biggest let down of the trip was the state of the gym....awful. No air conditioning, dirty and half the equipment was broken. Ugh! This is way too big a resort for us, taking a good 15 minutes to walk from one side to the other, so that has probably clouded some of my review. We won't return, for a variety of reasons. It was reasonably priced, so if you are looking for a cheaper vacation and want a fairly young, energy driven atmosphere, this is probably the place for you.
