    Nice Resort

My reservations were for a sea view suite at the Bahia Principe. Upon checking in I was greeted with a warm towel, a rum punch and an upgrade to sea view suite on the the Luxury side. The room was nice , clean and sunny, large with a great balcony overlooking the pool. The mini fridge consists of two Red Stripe beers, water, coke and tonic water which they refresh daily. The mini bar consists of a small bottle of Appleton Rum & Sky Vodka. There’s a coffee maker with coffee, creamer sugar cups and spoons also. The television is about a 32inch with some channels, HBO, Cinemax only and some sports channels. A guide would be nice since there wasn’t one provided. In the closet you have 2 robes, slippers, ironing board and iron. The bed is comfortable but didn’t like the pillows, were too soft and too small but I made the best of them. The safe I had problems with since there were no instructions and I wasn’t shown how to use it until the next day. Seems you insert your keycard then add your security code. Simple but confusing if you’re not shown or told. This hotel is huge, I got lost a couple of times but managed to find shortcuts. The pool is HUGE and there are three of them supine the Bahia and The Luxury are connected. There are two parts, Luxury pool which are broken into the sections, the quiet, chill part and the I call Party part because there’s always something happening there. The entertainment team keep activities going. The water was always clean and also warm. Umbrellas and loungers were always available but the Palapas go fast so if you want one of those get up early to get it. The beach is small and in some parts it looks like the Sea is reclaiming some of it. The guards keep the vendors from bothering you and it’s clean. Even though it’s man-made, the water is just waist deep in its furthest area and if you go towards the rocks you can see multiple schools of fish. They literally swim up to you as you stand there. Yes the water is that clear. If you snorkel bring you goggles, you will be amazed. The drinks by the pool and the beach were okay. Feel the cups they provided were too small so if you didn’t bring your own cup , which they have no problem filling, you will be ordering multiple. The bartenders also need to add a wee bit more liquor to their drinks especially the frozen ones because you really don’t taste the alcohol. Bring your own straws, the resort doesn’t provide them. I didn’t eat at the specialty restaurants but the Jazmine buffet was good. Much of a selection so there’s something for everyone for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I must give a shout to Omario, I think his name is, he was very sweet and even made me his speciality drink which I had two because they were that good. He was very polite and went out his way to make your dinner pleasant. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at The Luxury and would return.

An amazing place to stay when visiting Jamaica

My husband and I went for an 11 night stay in August 2019. From the moment we arrived at the resort we were made to feel very special. The staff cannot do enough to help and make your stay as enjoyable an experience as possible. We have been to a number of other All Inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and elsewhere (last time was 10 years ago) and we found the food and drinks available at this resort to be the best we have experienced. Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire and Gordon's Gins were available, Grey Goose and Finlandia Vodkas and a wide range of well known named brands of drinks including Campari, martini's, Appleton Estate and Appleton Estate 12 year old rum amongst them. Also, a wide range of cocktails available (and staff would make any cocktail you requested). There was a massive range of foods from all nations available at the buffet restaurant Jasmine every day with Jamaican food being authentic and of a very high quality. They had a 'theme' each night eg Asian, Canadian, Mexican etc. There was authentic, succulent and very tasty Jerk Chicken available at the Poolside restaurant daily. All food was of a very high standard and staff were friendly and generally very efficient. The butler and room service (available 24 hours a day) was amazing although sometimes they were on Jamaican time!!! We went on some amazing trips (organised by TUI) including Dunn's River Falls, Nine Mile (where Bob Marley was born and is laid to rest - an incredible and moving experience), Appleton Estate Rum distillery, YS falls, Pelican Bar and the Luminous Lagoon. All of which were well worth doing, interesting and informative. Jamaica is such an amazing place to visit and explore (with arranged tours). We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay and would totally recommend the place to friends and family. The only down sides we experienced were the missing tiles and loose tiles in the pool; and the lack of wifi availability on two or three days during our stay, other than that it was fabulous.

    Mother and daughters Trip

The trip overall was great. The property was clean and grounds were cared for every morning. We reserved two rooms on the same top floor with king beds bldg 27 and the requests were granted. Butler never introduced themselves, no service. The rooms were kept clean. Only received two face cloths per room per day?? Items in fridge were restocked as requested with added tip. Various employees continued to knock on our mothers door to ask if she needed anything and she signed some paper to make them leave. I am somewhat concerned and still keeping and eye on my credit card. I will dispute any charges without my signature since I booked the trip. Noone every checked on me. Interesting.. The buffet is the best place to eat. Similar food items every day. Reccomend to incorporate authentic Jamaican cuisine restaurant. Why travel to your resorts to have same foods obtained at home. Or to consume mediocre dishes from other countries. The one Brazilian style speciality restaurant was lacking quality with limited side options and had to wait 20 min for them to replace salad. Good not great effort. Great drinks at main bar. Miss your tutti fruiti Emmond!Staff was very friendly. Security on every corridor of every floor and at the beach. Staff is hard working as deserve tips people! It was nice relaxing at the beach, wading in the quiet pool, and watching activities at the main pool. I love Jamaica this was 5th trip. Would I return to this resort? At a discount yes. I would recommend to others for the experience.

    Excellent holiday highly recommended

Just returned from a 2 week stay with my wife to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary...we had a great time, and would highly recommend this hotel, the food at both buffet and themed restaurants was excellent, the beaches great, we used the family beach on the grand side the hotel which was perfect great sand, water and snorkelling, and never had any problem with getting a sun bed as not very crowded at all. Our room was cleaned everyday and had no problem with using room service, getting towels or having our fridge stocked daily and suitably decorated on our Anniversary which was a lovely touch. No hotel is perfect and I’m sure you can find things to complain about if that’s your thing, but if you accept the hotel caters for hundreds of guests at any one time and problems happen every now and then which in the big scheme of things are quite trivial, you will have a wonderful time at a great value hotel in a beautiful country.

    Family and friends vacation

Beautiful hotel. Food was very good at the restaurants as well as the buffet. Beach on the family side is beautiful. A little rowdy guests at the luxury pool but hey, they're on vacation too. Hotel accomodated our request for adjoining rooms because of my special needs son.
