    Poor service

The food was not fresh. They served left overs frequently (often the same hard rice). Room service ran out of wash cloths and towels everyday. I’m not picky nor hard to please but food and wash cloths are the basics

    25th Wedding Anniversary

The staff and service provided was over the top. Decorating our room was a great touch!!! Food, booze and atmosphere was exceptional. Nothing was an issue. Just ask and it was taken care of. Didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back!

    Okay for a short stay

Our room had comfortable beds, though they would more accurately be described as double beds than queen. The room is well appointed with a separate sink area. The shower floor was a bit slippery. They were also quite stingy on towels. The ones that were taken from our room were not replaced. They provide free soda, beer, and water in the mini fridge, but they also didn't replace the water. There is a nice balcony seating area with sunset views. One of our travel companions ended up with a racoon in her room when the balcony door was left open briefly. Some of the rooms have adjoining doors to the neighbouring room, this could be good if you are travelling as a family, but a bit awkard (noise wise) if the person next door is a stranger. The grounds of the hotel are quite nice. The buildings seem to be well maintained. The public beach attached to the property is gorgeous. That being said, the property is very spread out. To get from many of the rooms to the pool or main building is a longish walk with uphill and downhill sections. The hotel does provide shuttles around the property, but this is less than ideal. They are also a bit of a turbulent ride. Sometimes there can be a bit of wait to get a ride somewhere. It also means that there are regularly large noisy vehicles zipping around outside your room and on the pathways that you have to walk on. There isn't a lot to do here. It's okay as a base of operations if you are planning on going to do day excursions, but it would make for some very long days. You can take a shuttle to the town nearby, but it is a bit of a tourist trap (okay for souvenir shopping and eating). Other than the pool and the beach, there aren't really a lot of activities at the hotel. The pools were nice, though it was a bit inconvenient that towels are only available at the upper pool. The buffet restaurant was surprisingly hard to put together a good meal at, and often had issues of foods not being restocked in a timely manner. The Italian restaurant, however, was quite good if you can get a reservation.

    Poor WiFi, dirty room/bathroom

With this place being a resort, I expected more. First impressions when we got to the resort were positive however they quickly faded with the overall check in process and paperwork. 20 minutes spent during check in. The bathroom had hair on the floor and didn’t appear to be cleaned. Shower head had mildew and was not clean. Bed sheets were stained in several places with what appeared to be dried blood. Overall, not very impressed. We did ask for vegan/vegetarian options but there were none/very limited options for all meals. Won’t be staying here again. WiFi was very slow and didn’t work in the dining area or pool area. Very slow.

    Costa Rica Vacation

The resort has lots of steps and hills to get to your building. However, the resort provides a shutttle that will pick you up in a speedy fashion. The food was awesome and the atmosphere peacefull. Very pleasant and helpful staff in everyway.
