Very nice place
We are members of UVC and chose this resort as one of our bonus weeks. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious and very clean. We loved all the pools, but stayed mostly in a quiet one near our building. There is not enough covered seats around the quieter pools. But the service was absolutely the best we have ever enjoyed. Someone was always asking if you wanted drinks or food delivered. The restaurants were all very good. We tried them all except for the Mexican place. Entertainment was good and the flaming coffees in the evening were a real treat.
Great energy. I would go back just to see Crazy Myra!!! She was absolutely awesome!!! I did this trip in December 2017 so maybe things have changed, but if you want a all inclusive that gets it right go here. I have been to other resorts but this could be my go to. Food is good, rooms are good, beach is good. The entertainment staff does everything they can to get you involved. The rest is up to you. It's been 2 years and I still cannot and probably never will be able to forget Crazy Myra. You couldn't ask for a better entertainment director...or a prettier one...just sayin'...
We stayed here March 2019 and we were preferred oceanfront room. Room was fine, no complaints. I definitely wouldn’t upgrade at this resort again as the preferred pool area had no umbrellas and hardly any chairs. Our check in was less than that’s for sure ...we’ve stayed at other Secrets and had better experiences. The quieter pool was great but very cold. Food was good, lots of live entertainment inside and out ... grounds are beautiful and staff was friendly enough. Designated smoking areas made it nice for those of us that don’t smoke as we didn’t have to be around it. We like swim out rooms but I am glad I did the research before bc they are simply ground level rooms with a bit of grass and then the pool...not even stairs at the rooms, so you can plop yourselves in the water but depending on strength you’d have to go to the stairs and walk to your room...big deal? For us it would be as I like a swim out to have steps off my balcony straight into the pool....something to think about! Would I recommend this place? Yes but I really don’t see the point in upgrading.
My favorite resort in Mexico
From what I hear now this resort is temporarily shut down so when I traveled this past November to Puerto Morales I had to book somewhere else. What I love most about this place is that each building had it's own large quiet pool, rooms had a huge outdoor balcony, the layout of the room was lovely, had 24 hour room service , The best part was the professional entertainment with acts from Las Vegas, magic, a hypnotist, not your avg Mexican shows like Michael Jackson etc that I've seen a zillion times over the last 20 years. There was a live band EVERY night and everyone was dancing...the outdoor bar is set up in a circle where everyone can see each other. I read articles every month hoping it will re-open soon, seems there was some issues of payment to the employees....also the food was GREAT a long with the service. I cannot wait to go back there one day and it will always be my favorite all inclusive! Oh did I mention the fantastic sushi bar open from 5-8 every day, it's hidden in the back of the Asian restaurant so you have to ask where it is. The town is a 10 min taxi ride, plenty of shopping and quaint little town which I also loved. Stayed in town at a small non inclusive motel right on the beach just last month....I'll write about that place next as it was great and I didn't gain 5 lbs either lol
Loved everything about our trip
We stayed here in March 2019 and had a great time. The room was huge, beautiful bathroom, great ocean view. Lots of pools, we enjoyed the the preferred club pool as it was tranquil and quiet. This hotel doesn't have the best beach, but we did enjoy every morning on chairs in the preferred beach and then moved to the pools when it was time to cool off. Lots of restaurants to choose from, we were very happy with the food selection. At night at the main bar there was live rock/pop bands that played everyone's favorite songs, all the bands were incredible - we didn't take in any other night entertainment because we were happy with that. Spa is really beautiful. We enjoyed the preffered club pool and snacks, but the preferred bar could have had more to offer. Don't let the salesmen in the preferred club waste your time trying to get you to take excursions to other secrets resorts unless you really want the free 3 nights within a year. We wasted too much of our precious holiday time being coaxed to tour other secrets resorts in the area. We were happy we didn't go.
