Cruise port day pass
My family and I stopped in Montego Bay as the first stop on our cruise. The weather was wicked hot and sunny (just what you want for the beach). There was a little confusion as to where we were supposed to go to meet our transportation, but once it was ironed out, we met the bus and were on our way. It was a short ride (5 minutes or less). We were met by someone at the resort and kind of hustled through the open areas to our meeting area where we were given a welcome drink. We were then told things in a very rushed manner and shown around. Again, in a very rushed manor. The pool looked lovely as did the beach. We were never really shown the water park. The guide just kind of gestures toward the restrooms and restaurant. Then he walked away. My family and I set up our things on chairs on the beach that had seen better days. Several of them were broken and torn and they were not comfortable at all. But the water was warm and blue and fairly calm although where we were, there was a lot of seaweed. They gave us the option of participating in breakfast for an additional cost. We chose not to join them. We didn’t spend time at the pool but it seemed to have gotten quite lively and we spent no time at the water park although we did look at it and it looked really neat (they had a lazy river which is always nice). There was music and games and jerk chicken cooking. The buffet they offered was very nice and the food was good. The drinks were included but the cups they served them in were small, plastic cups. It was like they were treating you like you were in grade school. I understand keeping costs down but that’s ridiculous. I don’t want to give the impression that we’re big drinkers- because we’re not. By any stretch of the imagination. But if it’s a selling point and they are included, the glasses should be a little bigger. Even regulars drinks like soda and fruit punch. And since you arrive so early, it might be nice if breakfast (even continental) would be included. Overall, though, I would say, it was a good time for the money. You can eat from noon til 2:30 at the buffet (there is also a grill that does hot dogs and hamburgers), drink all you want, swim in the pool or sea and play in the water park. Or do any kind of activity (like jet ski or kayak or things of that nature). You can take a walk on the beautiful beach or just relax and soak up the sun or read (which is what I did). You can connect to their free WiFi (which is what my niece did). You can dance and act a fool that way. Or you can sit in the shaded cabana on a padded bed and just be one with nature. You decide because it’s your vacation and you paid for it.
The hotel was just as expected, nothing was a surprise. Hotel itself wasn't that impressive. What was impressive was the personal contact and service that their staff provided during my recent stay. The main ones I would like to point out are Leroy the server, Javon the photographer, and Martin from the entertainment team. They were exceptionally great because of their natural human interaction. They were very kind and definitely made me feel welcomed. They were always checking up on my girlfriend and I to make sure we were having a great time. They are great people that made my stay unforgettable. They really demonstrated the warmth and open arms attitude of the Jamaican culture. They were AWESOME!!!
Where do I start
We arrived to check in , and after explaining that some changes had been made by email ,to one of the receptionist we had to explain again to a women that I can only say made us feel like we had inconvenience her in some way , well after that start the bar staff were amazing as were the maids/cleaners who went beyond there remit to ensure we were comfortable I only regret is that I didn’t take any names . Entertainment was what you would expect at a hotel chain , food was a bit disappointing as to me it catered for the American visitors and I saw very little for vegetarians and do not recall anything labelled as vegan or gluten free all that being said the 24hrs cafe was good when midnight hunger pangs come knocking The sun loungers need to be updated as they have seen better days , All in all we had a great time
I would rather sleep on the street, than stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel in August for a family reunion. It would take hours to write how disappointed we are with our stay. Everything from check-in, service, food, condition of the building to rudeness of the staff is the worst I have ever experience in a hotel.
hotel needs to be upgraded. the buffet restaurant tables and chairs need to be replaced, they are I horrible conditions. I got my dress snag on one of the table edge and luckily for me it was a day wear.
