    Pros - Excellent location, lots of walking trails, the rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff was great. Cons - Value for what we spent, we were very disappointed. A la cartes frequently closed. Buffet food, not a huge selection and mediocre. Time share people act as part of checking in so they have a better chance of you taking part in their presentation, very friendly until you say no. Resort need work. Bathrooms a far distance from the beach and definitely not enough chairs by the pool (had to be up very early to get them). We paid for a five star but not even close, very disappointed:(

    Excellent Service and Staff

    This is our first Dreams resort we have stayed at. The staff and service here is outstanding! Everyone went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. It was my 50th birthday and to my surprise we had been upgraded to an ocean view room on the 6th floor along with a slice of birthday cake waiting for me as well. Every restaurant was very good! My only downfall was I felt breakfast buffet could have used some help. One 4 slice toaster just does not do the trick! Now the Oceana for breakfast was over the top! Pool and beachside drink service was also amazing with top shelf liquor and Bud lites! A special shoutout to Derek as our bartender around the pool...such a pleasant young man! We never went without! A quiet resort so if you are looking to party this may not be the resort for you. The resort 2 doors down to the right on the beach offers very relaxing CHEAP massages. Just ask the condo people of all the fun things you can do, they are full of great info. Room service was also amazing. If you need something... just ask. Overall it was a fantastic vacation with great company and great weather. Thank you to all the staff. I have never met such amazing people!

    This was our 7th trip to a Dreams resort and will not be our last,first off let me single out the entire staff all were top notch from Hector, Paola, caprilona,Rosa,Carlos everyone was very very accomadating, kind generous and just great to be around I had some mobility problems and Hector took care of itas for the grounds they were very clean and organized the pools were great and the ocean was alot of fun,the restaraunts were goo d and they even sat our group of 16 together one night our reccomendations would be the coconut shrimp at the seaside, the bacon wrapped fillet at the seaside and if you like sushi go up to the 9th floor[great veiw] we were disappointed that they do not have a Japanese restaurant like the other dreams we have been to and for our rooms very clean alittle wear and tear but that can be expected, they could use a grab bar or two in the shower toilet area and maybe come up with something with the parket flooring in front of the shower,we took a vote and we think we like Hualulco a bit better because the ocean water and the snorkeling right out front is great they also have sailboats and paddle boards right there for the guests along with the Japanese restaruant one thing to note if you are boogie boarding out front ladies keep you suit tops tied tight or you will be exposing the girls to the observers on shore also we all had massages on the beach which were a great price and a very good massage.Again hats off to Hector and the rest off the staff for a great vacation.     Resort was lovely but lock up your stuff!!

    We arrived at the resort in our prearranged transportation which was waiting for us at the airport just as promised. Checked in and as usual we were treated like we had “ come home” wet cloth, glass of bubbly as well. Everything about the resort is wonderful but on the next day I left 4 rings and a silver chain on the desk when I went to the pool. I should have locked them in the safe but we had just come and I wasn’t used to licking things up and was in a hurry to get to the pool. When I got back a few hours later one of the rings was missing. Unfortunately it was my husbands wedding ring, 46 years old which I had been wearing for the last 14 years since he didn’t like wearing jewellery. We delt with security as much as we could with no satisfaction. The only people in the room while we were gone were the maid and a plumber as we had a toilet that was running. Security said they asked those two and they said they hadn’t taken it. Really? So where is the ring? We are charter members of the vacation club at these resorts and have never had a problem before. The staff were friendly and the entertainment staff are a lot of fun. Especially the Aquasize kids, Nestor and Julia. The pool waiter, Julio is the best, as he says, back in 6 minutes!! So in spite of the ring problem we had a good vacation but now I will ALWAYS lock up my stuff!!

    Not a dream!

    Their online reviews are deceiving and I also gave their management the same feedback. This was unanimous feedback across a group of travellers who attended a conference. For the amount of money that we spent for a luxury resort, the food was completely terrible. They offered 5 restaurants but the first 2 days, only 2 restaurants were opened. The remainder of the week, at least 3 restaurants were closed daily and since the Italian was not open to children, we were left to eat in the main buffet area daily (for all 3 meals) as the others were also not available during day time hours. We ended up going into town for food at least 3 days. There was barely a selection of food at the buffet and what was available was not enjoyable. It was the same thing literally every day for 7 days. Also, the food was the same irregardless of which "restaurant" you were at. Their Oceana restaurant was suppose to be seafood but it was falsely advertised since they stated they only served seafood on certain days...which we noticed was never during the week that we were there. I thought that I had ordered something different at Oceana but it was the exact same sauce and dish as the Mexican restaurant. They were not transparent in terms of what you can order at their main buffet restaurant. People could order certain things directly with the kitchen but it was not publicly advertised. For a big resort, you can only have ice cream at Oceana which was closed half the time. They didn't even have ice cream for the children at the main buffet. They had the same meals for lunch every day with hot dogs and burgers...for a luxury resort. The service was extremely poor. Our rooms were not made at least until after 3pm daily. You had to wait a very long time at the restaurants for service. Our conference group waited at least 45 minutes just to have our orders taken and so had to leave to go back to the conference rushing through our meal. It was a big turn off with their push for their condos. They were EXTREMELY aggressive about it. You couldn't attend the sunset cruise if you didn't sit through their 2 hour talk...and they still made people pay for their tickets anyways even if they attended the session. A big turn off with all of us! Their resort is extremely small and it caters more to seniors. The one good thing was that their entertainment crew. They made day entertaining with our 2 yo. and great activities like aqua size and dancing lessons. Here we are happy to thank the entertainment crew that were present that week: Marina, Julia, Nestor, Alex, and Alberto.
