I live not too far away and this is a great all-inclusive. The food was very good, every restaurant was well decorated with very good service and food. Bars had a nice selection of options even providing top-shelf. Pools gave you many options so you could move around and enjoy it *side note, the Adults Only pool allows children and the 4 days we were here I guess the richest and most spoiled brats in the world were having a convention here. The only thing worse was the super privileged drunk parents that wanted to ignore their children (not the hotels' fault) but if you are thinking of enjoying the Adults Only pool, Don't bother. The staff tells me it is always like that. All-inclusive hotels do not give you a true experience of what it is like to visit a county but they do provide a wonderful, safe and no-thinking-required vacation experience and this one is fantastic. I will come back. Ps. The 24-hour room service rocks.
grounds very nicely maintained
went the week of aug 28th 2019,,, - if your strictly a beach person, dont think this beach is for you...not too many in th ewater,,defenitly not your beautiful green water like you find in cuba,,,but rest of resort is great..love the grounds,,,seeing different birds..love the humming birds by the pool or next to hot tub section..as well only one monkey i saw,,approx at 4 pm daily by the beach on a tree..only one i saw at resort..food was excellent..great variety of fruits..couple of el lecarts were down,,guessing less people on resort..yes vendors can get bothersome...highlight of the trip was the nicaragua trip..which was a good deal..really recommend this...had hottub on balcony, but no jets...overall a good stay
Great secluded vacation!
I went to Dreams las Mareas the first week of September with my husband and 4 year old daughter. Prior to our trip, I read almost EVERY review here on Trip Advisor. I felt I was pretty prepared and knew exactly what to expect. Based on the reviews, I was left little to desire. After check in, you are handed off to someone else that tries to offer discounts for doing a “seminar”. Thankfully my daughter was too tired from the 5 hours flight and 2 hour drive to the hotel, so we were able to get escorted to our room without ever hearing of a timeshare again. Our room was the “preferred swim up” and it was a nice open floor plan with a cute mini bar that was restocked daily. Room service is 24hours (with limited items depending on the hour) and no additional charges. The swim up is one long pool attached to adjacent rooms, kinda awkward if there are other guests next to you. If I went back, I wouldn’t pay extra for swim up because there are sooo many other pools to choose from. The restaurants weren’t amazing, kind of average. Some days there were a great selection and other days felt like dejavu. My husband went expecting to get a whole snapper but according to one of the host, they didn’t have it for that week, a complete disappointment. For entertainment, we booked ATV excursions with Tony’s Expeditions and had a fun time. My daughter was able to ride with my husband and it was a “private” tour because we were the only ones doing it that day. We also booked a “private” sailing/snorkeling adventure with Jack (booked through Trip Advisor) and that was an amazing memorable experience. Definitely worth the money! All in all, I would go back to this resort but with less expectations. Our vacation was very relaxing, experienced lots of wildlife and made new friends. PURA VIDA!
a place worth visiting
We traveled during the rainy season when it was forecasted to rain every day. We had rain only once during our stay. The resort was very clean, staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. The restaurants didn't require reservations with the exception of one which I loved. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The beach was nice but the undertow was pretty strong while we were there so we only got our feet wet. Lots of pools which we enjoyed. This is a family resort which seemed to have lots of options for children. We travelled as a couple and enjoyed the adults only spaces. I would definitely go again.
Loved Dreams Las Mareas
The grounds are spectacular; the facilities are excellent; the staff are wonderful -- friendly and thorough; the food was good. I couldn't have enjoyed my week more. Even the weather cooperated for my vacation.
