My husband I went to sunscape 2 years a go in January. We had to much fun. We paid a little extra for the Sunclub & we feel it was worth it. Amazing room & private area on the beach to priority check in. The Mexican fiesta show was awesome. So we wanted to take our adult son & his wife & child back. We were greeted so friendly. We were wisked up to the 5th floor Sunclub where we were greeted my Erika the best bartender. We waited about 20 to be noticed by the desk. I finally had to interupt them from checking in other people before us. They couldn't seem to figurr out my son's reservation. Thankfully we knew were we wanted to be and they put them in the room next to us. 1839 & 1838 are amzing rooms with huge balconies. From there it was just so so. Some of the sevice was wonderful others not so much. Such as just trying to get waters refilled.Seems the seasoned employees were all over it. Tino at the world cafe was great. Some of the younger servers did a lot of chatting among themselves. When asked about the turtle release we got alot of shoulder shrugging. We did take fishing boat from the beach it was 60 hour. Any fish you catch you take to the concierge they will have it cooked for a 25 fee. It was very good. None of the shows that were advertized ever happened that we saw. We were really looking forward to the Mexican fiesta. We weren't exspecting 5 star for what we paid. I would rate it a 3. The Tiki Taco restaurant was so blazing hot with no A/C i couldn't stay in there to eat. I know it sounds like I'm picky but it just didn't live up to our first trip. I hate to say we will not be a third time repeat custmers. As far as when to go I would definitely go in January over October very hot and humid.
The Sunscape Resort and its staff are fabulous!
My experience there was so wonderful that I extended my stay for an extra week - I didn't want to leave! The Resort itself is amazing, but the employees put it over the top for me. Gaby, the head concierge, made sure that I had everything I could want, always going the extra mile, exceeding my expectations. She is assisted by a staff that are knowledgable, professional, and so personable, it was almost like talking with friends. I want to specifically acknowlege Yailin, Carmen, Josue, and Dante, as they made sure everything I asked for exceeded my expectations. Their personalities and efficiency are to be commended. I was also very impressed with Victor, one of the many bartenders, as he always managed to remember me, and my drink, even though this resort had hundreds of guests to serve. When you stay there, it's a MUST to try their Italian Restaurant. Not only is the food superb, the wait staff totally enhanced my dining experience. I ate there multiple times during my stay, and one of the waiters, Enrique, was so awesome, that after he served me the first time, I requested to be seated in his section whenever I went. I highly recommend the Sunscape Resort for your stay in Puerto Vallarta - it's a fantastic establishment, and I plan on visiting them again soon.
Over the top amazing
I am a loyal Sunscape PV customer, have been staying at the resort even before it became the Sunscape. The reason I continue to come back year after year, several times a year is due to the wonderful staff! They have become familia! I traveled with my BFF, Theresa Pollnow, October 9-16th 2019. We were treated like royalty, literally, during our most recent stay. We had champange and treats in our room upon arrival and we received an upgrade to Sun Club due to a small snafu in our room reservation. As always we received over the top service on the beach from Claudio and Miguel. These two men, in particular, have become mi familia. Sunscape/AMR hopefully knows what an asset these two individuals are to their business. The highlight of coming to PV and the Sunscape is getting to see Claudio and Miguel. Capitan Rosendo and Chef Luis surprised us not once but twice with "special dinners" and the meals, everything from the presentation of the food, to the appetizer and Mexican coffee, was amazing. Rosendo and Luis you treated us like queens and it was so appreciated! Again, I hope Sunscape realizes what an asset these two men are to the resort. We made some new friends that contributed to our amazing week; Xander, Daniel and Roger all were so wonderful to get to know. They bring a new, young flavor to the resort and are all amazing! Miguel , server in the World Cafe, had our coffee poured and Baileys ready for us each morning at breakfast. Now that is service! I love coming "home" and seeing the familiar faces, people remembering me, calling me by my name. I will continue to consider this my "home" and the people of Sunscape as mi familia! Thank you all for another amazing time and we will see you again soon!
From the second we stepped out of the taxis to the time we stepped back in the taxi to go home, our stay was nothing but fabulous. The concierge team were very warm & welcoming. Many thanks to Ismael, Manuel, Oscar & Valentin, you all helped us with our many cases, scooters etc. Reception team were lovely. We had a double room and family room, all spotlessly clean. The pool and staff were great. Pool waiters got to know what you were drinking and we’re always bringing you plenty to drink, along with loads of water. A special shout out to our regular pool guy, Jose Luis. A great and attentive guy. Now I’m rubbish at remembering names unless they’re written down for me, but the staff in all the restaurants went above and beyond. They were great. I wasn’t overly fond of much of the food, but I’m a fussy and limited eater, but there was always something for me to eat. The rest of our party all ate well. Daniel from the concierge team came by every day to make sure we were happy with everything. The entertainment team is where this hotel goes from just your ordinary run of the mill hotel to an exceptional hotel. Xander, Abi, Miguel (Mickey) Marcos, Jessica were absolutely superb, excellente as the boys kept saying. Spanish lessons, hand crafting, kayaking, body boarding, ball games, aquasize. Then you’ve got the best kids club we’ve ever seen! These ladies keep your children just as safe as you would. Ours went there from 10am till 9.pm most days, with wandering back and fore to us in between. Our 3 boys loved it. They had their own very secure building. The ladies even took them to lunch and dinner. The whole entertainment team along with the kids club made our holiday amazing. We can’t wait to come back. Much love from the Calder family from Scotland (not USA Xander 🤣)
I want to give a shout out to Stephanie who works in the Kid's Explorer Club. She is a wonderful young woman. She came to Sunscape from the Buenaventura Grand and will be missed by everyone there. A good choice made by Sunscape.
