My husband and I got married at the resort and most of the meals were special menu items. We were in building 1 in the beginning (smaller more dated) but were upgraded as part of our wedding package to build 6, which was at the preferred section. Bigger rooms and a jacuzzi on the balcony, which looked dirty and with no privacy. Resort credits has many restrictions. For example, you could only use a certain amount towards the spa, wine or a romantic dinner. The lunch buffet was okay but same everyday. A lot of our guests commented that the restaurants were average and the food was overly salty. The seaweed was horrible. Our wedding coordinator had told us that it was a very small amount. Well. It was not. Lots of seaweed and the smell was strong. They do try hard to clean it but be careful in the ocean as some of my guest for bit from the insects in the seaweed. We had many items missing from the room (coins, clothing) and $300 taken out of the safe. Security team came to investigate and said they would do a reading of the safe. Haven’t heard anything since then. Of course it happened on the last day so it would be harder for us to follow up as we are not there in person. Bring your own portable safe!!
This is a good place to stay with the family. Aside the mistake the Unlimited Vacation rep made with my guest when they booked their rooms, overall the hotel itself is good. Everyone goes out of their way to help you. Our waitress JUDI from the main bar outside by the big screen was awesome!!! she made sure we always had our drinks. Also, TOMAS from the pool area. The entire staff was great, just don't remember all the names. All the food was good, our favorite restaurant for lunch and dinner was at the Castaway.
Travelled to Now Jade, Riviera Cancun, Mexico in June 2019 for my honeymoon with my new wife. We had upgraded to the Preferred side of the resort with a King bed in a junior suite. On arrival we were quickly given a refreshing wipe and taken to the preferred lounge to check-in with Gustavo who was great. My wife was given a glass of champagne and I was given an ice cold beer. Check-in was swift, easy and smooth. We were initially given a double room in building 7 which overlooked the main garden. We were advised we could move to the King room after a few days if we still wanted to. On arrival at the room, we made use of the hot tub on our balcony, the refreshments from the mini fridge and watched a wedding on the beach which was pleasant. We did get moved rooms after a few days to the King room which overlooked the preferred pool area. Although the bed was huuuge which was pleasant, we missed overlooking the beach weddings from our balcony which were on most days. There was a daily turn down service also which is a nice touch. We used all of the restaurants in the resort. All were good bud I'd rank them as follows; 1. French 2. Asian 3. Mediterranean 4. Italian 5. Mexican 6. Buffet The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch but wasn't great for dinner to be honest. We also had dinner on the beach one evening as part of the honeymoon package. The food was amazing and the personal waiter was friendly and attentive. We also used room service on several occasions which was reasonably quick and food was good. The chicken wings were very good. The preferred adult only pool was nice. To be honest, most days it stunk of the seaweed collecting on the beach, but the hotel employ workers who start at dawn and work for hours trying to win a losing battle. It's a natural occurrence and there isn't much more they can do. In any case, the adult pool was too quiet for us, the family pool was much livelier with activities on all day if you wanted to get involved, from Spanish lessons to the "Crazy Game" which was always a good laugh. The burgers from the poolside bar were good. Lunch was also available at the Castaways restaurant here and had a good choice. All of the staff were very helpful and attentive. Yes, you get better service if you tip, but you don't need to pay a lot. We usually gave a couple of dollars worth every few drinks. We tipped most of the staff we came into contact with and felt a little went a long way. We also used the spa for a couple's massage and hydrotherapy which were also in the honeymoon package. The massage was nice, but the hydrotherapy was out of this world! Felt amazing after it. The entertainment staff were also very good. Encouraged people to get involved but weren't too pushy. Most of the outside entertainment was good as well, including the Fire Show, Carribbean Show, Mexican Show to name a few. However, the magician they sourced was honestly the worst magician I've ever seen... Overall I thought the resort and staff were great, couldn't really fault them. I'm not sure if I'd return to this specific resort again, mainly cause I like to dot around and not visit the same places over and over again, but I'd certainly stay at a Now resort again and would recommend it to family and friends.
This hotel was nice, but what set it to the next level was the excellent service!! I must give a special thank you and review on Gonzalo Camara!! His enthusiasm and excellent service made breakfast so much more enjoyable! He also remembered my name and made sure to greet me whenever I walked into the buffet which was lovely!
Hi we were two couples me my wife and sister and brother inlaw ages 50-60 we are British. The hotel and the standard of the cleanliness and the food in the restaurants were excellent which is a big plus so couldn't fault it so be confident you will be happy in that respect. Now to the not so good we were the minority when we stayed there which was from 26th June to 10th July2019 most off the guests were either American or Mexican which make sense as it's so close. Now if your british you will know what I mean when I say germans and sun beds well let me tell you germans have not got a patch on Americans if your not settled on a sun bed and I mean around the swimming pool by 07.30 am your not going to get anything every bed and with a brolly will either have a towel,a sun lotion,a shoe, goggles, books, you name it it was on those beds there was even 4 lacrosse bats on 4 separate beds one morning.the odd thing is that on the daily news letter the hotel state this is not acceptable but do nothing about it. Just one other thing which made us feel a bit uncomfortable I think everyone knows the American culture on tipping.now I'm not tight and can tip as much as the next person but the beach and pretty much every other waiter will expect a tip everytime they bring you a drink because the americans give them a dollar pretty much every time they bring them a drink so they tend to expect the same from everyone. My sister in law had been to the reception too change 20 dollars into 1 dollar Bill's for the tipping at the time they didn't have any so she asked a waiter and he said yes but deducted a dollar for the pleasure off the exchange. weather was great hotel was good just these little things spoilt it a bit for us
