    Best place in the world

Well where to start. This has to be a little piece of heaven 😍😍. The people are the most genuinely friendly and welcoming I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The food in wild orchid is undoubtedly the best we have had for a very long time. The rooms are so spacious and the bed was like home from home amazingly comfortable. The pools and beach were the best ever. The entertainment was second to none. Every singer and band could be in the tele. The piano bar was fabulous and cheneece the girl who served the drinks is a beautiful soul. I really cannot praise this hotel enough and thank everyone there who made our holiday a wonderful place to remember. We will definitely be coming back ‘home’ very very soon.

This Is The Last Time Secrets Will See My Family.

The resort was not really that bad in general, housekeeping, stocked room bar, and overall cleanliness of the resort. The positive, the bell staff were always friendly and helpful. Our worst complaint is with the premium spirits that we paid extra to be in preferred club, let me tell you that it was everything but unlimited. There was seldom any GREY GOOSE to be had. When you ask for it, the staff were getting tired of the guest asking for premium drinks and getting RUDE. They would not let you pour your own drinks in the lobby bar as they were trying to limit us to smaller drinks so they didn't have to restock PREMIUM. That said on more than one occasion there wasn't any vodka to be had premium or otherwise. On the Beach they only had one waitress trying to serve the whole beach. This was the same of all bars, they were way understaffed and although the staff was friendly they could not keep up. We had to order double drinks each time just to be able to have a drink. By the end of their shifts the waiters and bar tenders were running out of patience. We were a group of 4 that paid extra for preferred club and were all TERRIBLY disappointed with it. My wife and I used the room service only twice and waited nearly 2 hours for service both times. Preferred club is for sure not worth the money. Mostly the biggest complaint was the RUDE comments and treatment of the staff at the preferred club snack bar. This we attribute to management and what they give these staff members to work with, we felt as we were being watched all the time. Any time you went to get a drink someone was watching over your shoulder. On a positive note the elevators in the preferred club were the best we have ever seen. At first we were told there was no room in the Japanese cooking table restaurant during our stay and we were trying to book it the first day we arrived. They finally got us a space in there, and the food was cooked so fast and we were rushed out. Not a good experience!! Not to say the staff weren't great, RAY-RAY cooked an awesome meal all be it that he was rushed. One of the greatest things we have always loved Jamaica for is the food, this time the food wasn't the greatest. Like I said in the beginning of this review. MY FAMILY WILL NEVER USE SECRETS AGAIN.

    Super Nice Stay

This is a lovely resort that I would certainly recommend! We are three couples, for the most part, over the age of 60, we go away each year at this time for an extended weekend. We stayed at the Preferred Club Wild Orchid for five nights. There were some mixed reviews, so we were a bit skeptical. First and foremost, the resort is immaculate, the rooms are clean and spacious! The grounds are beautifully maintained as are the pools and beaches. The staff is friendly!! The moment you step out of your car you are greeted by Billy Love!!! He sets the pace for the entire week! You are immediately in “vacation mode”! Then, there is Mattheu who is such a treasure and a gift to Wild Orchid! There was not a day that this gentleman did not walk by us and shout out our names!!! Again, Wild Orchid is very lucky to have these two gentlemen as part of their team! The resort is bit on the quiet side... in fact, on one afternoon we received phone calls that we were too loud, it was 6:30!!! The breakfast buffet is very good, as is the lunch buffet. The restaurants are the usual fair that one gets at an all-inclusive, nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. My advice would be to go and have fun, don’t be swayed by all the nay sayers!!!

    Overall great stay!

We just returned home from a 4 night stay in the preferred section at Secrets Wild Orchid. I read a lot of reviews and was a bit worried. But overall the resort is really fun, relaxing, and had everything we needed for a quick getaway. My husband was very hesitant to go to an all inclusive because of disappointments in the past with food and alcohol. We were pleasantly surprised with the choices and quality of food served. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was great. If you couldn’t find something to eat at that buffet then I don’t think you’d be happy anywhere. There is plenty to choose from for dinner options as well. We loved the Jamaican and Mexican restaurants. The French was very good as well. The Italian wasn’t what you’d expect for regular Italian food (the chicken parm had a white sauce, red potatoes and topped with salsa) but you are in Jamaica so I don’t know why you’d expect great Italian food. We didn’t go to the Japanese. For lunch we did a variety of things. Nothing really blew us away but we’d just snack on a little of everything. The jerk chicken cart stopping by everyday was a really nice touch. We loved staying in the preferred section! It felt more private and just gave the resort an overall smaller feel. We didn’t have a butler because we didn’t want to spend the extra $. The room had some really nice touches-slippers, robes, even toothpaste, sunscreen (15spf) and razors! Plus, the mini bar was nice to have and a few snacks. They had a small little restaurant in the preferred section that had Breakfast, lunch and dinner options plus snacks at other times. Also, a full bar. One morning the buffet had a long line so we just ate breakfast in the preferred dining area. It wasn’t as big of a selection, but gave us what we needed. I also requested a high floor so we could watch the beautiful sunsets. Probably our favorite part of being in the preferred section was that it gave us access to the neighboring resort, Breathless. They have a beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant where we would go every day. I wouldn’t want to stay at breathless, it was definitely more of a party atmosphere, but it was fun to visit and watch the foam party and listen to the bands from up high on the rooftop! One of the disadvantages in staying in the preferred section at Wild Orchid is the noise from the nightly entertainment. It wasn’t a big deal as it was over by 1030 or 11, but if you are an early bird to bed I’d suggest staying in the secrets St James preferred (but you may hear Hard Rock from next door). The entertainment was good. Fun bands and other activities at night. The spa was a really nice facility. I got a 50 minute massage, it was just ok. The service was overall really great! Matthew from the preferred section was always so nice asking us how our day was and getting to know us. I wish I remembered our waitresses name at the Italian restaurant because she really was the best. The servers on the beach were very good. They work hard and were always walking around asking if we needed anything. If they weren’t around and we needed a drink it was just a quick walk to a bar or to the preferred lounge. We were surprised of how many people were so so drunk every day and night. These weren’t young 21 year olds, it was older people. Like falling on the ground, puking, and needing to be carried drunk. We’d go back and we’d recommend to friends. Enjoy!

This Time is the Last Time

I stayed at this resort in 2017 with my husband. Had no issues; amenities were great, staff was super nice and quick, but the food was just alright. This time I stayed for a trip with coworkers. The staff was very delayed with every request—from additional towels, to answering the phone, and the wait time for food once seated. My second day here, I informed the concierge that my phone was broken, no one has fixed it and I’m here for 5 days. Housekeeping doesn’t clean the shower or the toilet—I know because there is still sand in it from when I used both. Additionally, depending upon who you ask a question, you’ll most often get different answers. The positive things were the extremely nice bell staff and the spa treatments. They take your bags to your room promptly, offer great conversation, and give you information about the resort and Jamaica. My favorites were Honiff, Ronvey, and Kevaughn. The spa was relaxing but can feel rushed if you want to use the amenities before your massage. Terreca gave me an awesome massage and was very kind. Jamaica is a great place to visit but put Secrets Wild on your “Plan B” list.
