    OLD & RUST

    If you expect an AI hotel, please don’t be a guest at this place. I guess this hotel should lived his best days on the 90’s. Right now they have old rooms and equipment, people gives you a terrible service, I think they probably are low paid, but it is not guest fault, so they must train all their personnel in order to Improve service quality an try to be more emphatic and kind. Food is not quite good, just a regular meal nothing great. My room had some failures on the AC, and some lights, they didn’t bother in solve this situation; in my friends rooms they found terrible conditions in their mini fridge... so it is not an awesome stay. Please think about your guest and try to improve your accommodations.

    APPALLING GUEST SERVICES

    Upon arrival at the Ocean Blue and Sand in Punta Cana on October 14th 2019, we were told that our room had been upgraded to a Privilege Suite and were asked to sign a waiver to say that we accepted the change – I now know why. We were allocated a nice room on the ground floor in Building 6, the room (6109) was nice spacious but felt and smelt quite damp we put this down to it just being cleaned and the AC being at a very low temperature. The bathroom was ok but the Shower glass could have done with a clean and also the glass panel was moving. We were only staying at the Resort for 5 days so we just let it be. At 2.30am I needed to use the bathroom, so as not to disturb my Husband and 2 Sons I didn’t switch the light on. Imagine my horror when I sat in a bowl of backed up toilet water. Again not wanting to disturb my family I showered went back to bed to deal with it at a reasonable hour. At 6.30am my son got up to use the bathroom and to our disgust the toilet had overflowed all over the bathroom floor and out to the hallway (picture attached). I immediately called the Reception, explained the situation and asked them to send somebody over immediately. My son and I had to walk out to the pool area to use the public restrooms. Half an hour later one man appears with a plunger, he sees the situation and walks off shaking his head. One hour later I am still waiting for somebody to arrive. After another phone call housekeeping arrives and cleans up the mess, leaving us with soaking wet towels and unable to wash or shower. By 2.30pm our room had still not been cleaned so we took the trolley down to guest services. After about 5 minutes of speaking with Carlos in Guest Services we realized they just do not give a damn. We were told that we have a privilege room that we did not pay for and the problem had been fixed and they would do no more. In fact Carlos’s supervisor who was sitting next to him did not speak up but instead went to another office to telephone him and told him to tell us they would/could not help us. As a good will gesture Carlos said he would have somebody decorate the room (with what!!!! And Why!!! We asked). They also offered us a “Special Dinner” on our last night. After settling for a good room clean and the Special dinner we finally left knowing that we had just wasted 1 more hour on top of that morning of our vacation time. Our room was not given a “Special Clean” and when we turned up for the so called “Special Dinner” it was to a Restaurant that was closed. We live and work in Florida in the Hospitality Industry and I would in no way shape or form treat any of our guests in this manner. I am absolutely shocked and appalled at the Level of Customer Service and disregard that this Resort showed. As mentioned earlier when checking in the room was quite damp. We had to contend with getting into beds that felt damp and even clothes hanging in the closet felt damp. The second picture shows a book that I had been reading, on our last night I had taken it out of my bag and left it on the table. This is how the book looked by the next morning, I hate to think what my family and I have been breathing in all week. We had a good time because of the friends we were with and we refused to let the shoddiness of the Resort Staff ruin our long awaited time with friends. THE RESORT ITSELF IS NIC, THE BEACH IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE FOOD WAS GOOD. WHAT A SHAME THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THE RESORT ARE SO USELESS.

    Fantastic Place

    On our last day here and all I can say is it’s brilliant! Came here from the UK as a last minute alternative after the Thomas Cook collapse and I’m so glad we picked here. The restaurants and buffet are great with wide selections. The staff all work tirelessly with special mentions to the entertainment team and Morocha and Cherry, and not forgetting Albel who kept us well hydrated at the pool bar. Thanks Again Ocean Blue and Sands Team - you made our holiday 😃

    Will never stay there again !!!!!

    We booked what was suppose to be a week of fun and inducing my little one to her family !!!! But this hotel made sure that didn’t happen !!! When we first night was crazy the staff we rude and couldn’t care less that I had an infant that need bottle water for her formula than the next morning we woke up to cockroaches everywhere in the room ! And with a closer look at the room we noticed the whole room wasn’t suitable for anyone to stay in we requested to be moved to a different room we were told No there was no rooms that they could move us to until later so we went to spend time with our DR family and came back and was told that there is no room to move us by this time I was tried and pissy as I was not having my baby in a room like this I called WestJet vacations and they started the ball going the hotel moved us from one problem room to another problem room in this room there were still problems the springs were coming up through the mattress so I called west jet again and told them that I want to be moved out of this hotel west jet was more than willing to do this for me and my family they asked which hotels we would like to see if they had space after getting off the phone with WestJet about 15-29 mins later there was a hotel rep at our door saying that they want to put us in the club section which has access to a lot more things such as better drinks and having a butler etc which we really didn’t care about! But through our conversation we found out that the building that had us in was suppose to be closed for renovations and no one should have been in these rooms and this building had a lot of guests in it !!!! Than they moved us and told us to come to the front to sign papers to ensure we don’t get charged for any extras and to get new bracelets “!! Well when we got there they had change everything including things we had agreed on to make us stay !!! They wanted us to sign a hush up letter but once they had that paper everything we agreed on went out the window !!! The entire hotel stay was a waste I would never stay there again the answer to anything is NO and lies so I strongly suggest you rethink your stay here !!! I am an world traveller and I have never expensive so this type of treatment any where but here !!! I love the DR and will go back often as I have family there but I will never stay there or recommend anyone else to stay there either!!!!

    Bad experience

    The attention to guest upon arrival was zero. The room didn't had hair dryer, the coffee machine was broken, we didn't received all the amenities and it was a lot of mould. It was my birthday during the stay and nobody didn't even left a note of Happy Birthday! I am a hotel manager also and all these things are doing the difference in order to have a perfect stay. I will not choose this hotel never.
