    Typical Marriott convention-type hotel.

We selected this property as we are Marriott Titanium Rewards Members. There are other Marriott properties in Waikiki, but TripAdvisor reviews deemed the services at them as “inconsistent”. We didn’t want to get aggravated on vacation. This is a huge hotel with two 24-Story towers. If you are booking here, request a room in the Keaholani Tower. (The spelling might be wrong, but it is close.) This tower is closer to the beach. The ground level has the lobby, which we thought missed a great opportunity for some fantastic theming. We were disappointed that there were no bellman at the port cochere. We are on an extended trip around the island and had three suitcases and two back packs. We had to haul them into the lobby and up to our rooms ourselves. We even walked past the bell desk and the bellmen behind the counter didn’t offer to help. For the management likely to respond to this, we didn’t speak to a manager or bring it up at check-in, because we were there and that was over and done. Other than that service was good. We had made an initial reservation. Later we decided to extend it. We were unable to combine it with our existing reservation, but Jamie in reception easily fixed that for us. (Thank you.) We had an ocean front room on three 18th floor with fantastic views of the beach. The lobby was bland and at no time did we feel compelled to use it. Our tower was on the beach side of the hotel and the exit to the beach was in the opposite direction. We didn’t eat at any restaurants there, so we could explore other places and hotels in Waikiki. For those wondering if the location is good, the beach is across the street and the hotel provides Tommy Bahama beach chairs to carry over to the sand. Having a better understanding of Waikiki the hotel is at the eastern end of the beach. In retrospect, the hotels at the west side of Waikiki were on the beach (no crossing streets) and had more of that beach resort feel. They conveyed a much more Hawaiian atmosphere. They had ample, free chairs and umbrella’s and were more geared to guests. The beach in front of the Marriott was a public beach. The Sheraton Waikiki had the best pool of the west Waikiki hotels with rocks and waterfalls; however, that pool is shared with the Royal Hawaiian next door. The Sheraton was recently renovated and has a great lobby. The Royal Hawaiian had beautiful grounds. The Outrigger Waikiki Beach resort was next door. This place has the very popular (and overrated) Duke’s restaurant; the hotel was crowded and very noisy due to the constant influx of outside guests and the bands / DJs playing on the patio. Seats were difficult to secure, because hotel guests and outside guests competed for everything. I’d pass on this hotel. The Moana Surfrider (Westin) is an historic hotel, which is quite beautiful with a courtyard that has spectacular banyan trees and that great Hawaiian feel. If there is a next visit, we’d stay at one of these hotel, which have stunning views of Diamond Head. I wouldn’t necessarily say not to stay at the Marriott, but be prepared for a large convention type hotel.

    Waikiki Marriott Resort

This Marriott Resort is decent and clean. And the staff are very accommodating. It is located across the street from the beach. It’s very conveniently located in walking distance of near by restaurants, zoo, and tons of ABC stores. It’s a good 15-20 minutes walk to the main shopping area.

    Awesome location and fun vibe

This place is both nice/well-kept and in a great, convenient location near Kuhio Beach Park, Queens Beach, Honolulu Zoo and numerous food options. Their pool area is really good and they offer both dining and shopping onsite, which makes things easy. Staff is friendly/knowledgeable and getting around this place is pretty simple and intuitive. We found that the room was spacious and had a great balcony with a partial ocean view, which we didn’t expect. If you rent a car or are driving in, they provide an easy and efficient valet service to take the stress out of Waikiki parking, which can get pretty dicey. A couple of tips.. cost isn’t too bad for Waikiki, but they do hit you with a daily resort fee so be prepared for that. If you’re seeking secluded romance and solitude.. this may not be your choice spot since it is consistently loud, crowded and the lobby/common areas always seem chaotic. Again, you’re in a fantastic location so that’s going to come with the turf. Overall, excellent spot to choose, especially if you have kids and want direct beach access and restaurant options at your fingertips. Definitely recommend and would stay here again myself.

    Nice but busy

Very large hotel, but very nice updated hotel rooms. Lines for elevators can be long due to size of hotel. Big breakfast buffet spread that is delicious. Nice views of ocean. Nice to have so many restaurants/souvenir stores/ABC stores located in lobby. If you are looking to relax, I would not suggest this place though. This hotel is in the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. However, if you’re looking to have many things to do and night life, this is the place for you. Friday evenings around 7:45pm watch the five minute firework show on Waikiki Beach.

    Marriott Waikiki Beach resort

Another great resort property. This Marriott is corporate hotel owned, and located right across the street from Waikiki beach proper with a diamond head view. Like most hotels in Waikiki proper beautiful open air lobbies. Just beautiful and stunning. It was interesting that when we were here, Honolulu was inundated with what they called a "Kona" low, which periods of tremendous rain fall. It was great! Monsoon time. Restaurants were great, only sampled breakfast everyday as it was free to bonvoy members. For lunch and dinner we ventured off property. Across the street was Waikiki proper, with the sea break and surf board rentals. Geeze it was amazing that even senior citizens in their 60's and above partake in surfing. There was a luau 3 nights of the week you could buy tickets and attend. The Polynesian dances were amazing. Rooms were comfortable and the beds amazingly firm and pillows soft leading to a great slumber. A very nice property, I would have no problem staying at again
