Terrible Manager Experience with Concierge Team

<> Initially, I booked this hotel for 2 weeks; however, I decided to change to the Royal Hawaiian, due to the lack of security at the main entrance with homeless people and other variables, as well as the rooms that are very dated at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. This might be ok for some, but I wanted a great 40th B-DAY experience, so, I decided to book the RH, which was an overall good experience. Keli and Kristie (Hilton Hawaiian Village Ambassadors) helped me book all of my activities before I switched hotels and even manage them afterwards, which was great! NEGATIVE: There was one issue with ONLY one activity, the ‘Pearl Harbor Deluxe Tour.’ Long story short, it was just a miscommunication that did cause a big issue with the transportation bus, holding up many other passengers, because of misinformation I was given or possibly a misunderstanding. Long story short, neither of the Ambassadors were to blame; however, Keli’s Manager called me earlier today and asked me about my complaint. I let her know that Keli was great; however, the miscommunication caused me to miss an important part of the tour (Aviation Museum), and make the other 40+ passengers on the transportation bus late by almost 15 minutes, getting back to the area of Waikiki Beach. This was not a huge deal; however, I asked for a refund of some kind, and the Manager simply said, “You will not get a refund of any kind from what you just advised me on.” Then, later telling me to submit an email for a refund, which I asked, why would I do that if you just said, it will lead to nothing in return? Then, as I debated why I should receive some kind of refund, even if it was not full, she decided to bring up another irrelevant topic, stating, I was unprofessional. I simply asked to buy a drink for Keli when I arrived in Hawaii, thanking her for all of her help in booking activities, 100% not asking her out for a date or anything of that sort. Keli said, it was against policy, and I thanked her and understood. That was the end of it, which was a month before this phone call with the Manager. —> It’s called, SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY….. Overall, it was ridiculous for the Manager to state, this is why she reached out to me for this, after speaking to me for the first 20 minutes of the phone call about my complaint of the booking. It was overly obvious the Manager was trying to blame me for something completely irrelevant, because she did not like that I was still asking for a refund of at least a partial amount, because of reasons I saw as legitimate. All the Manager did repeatedly in this call was blame the transportation bus company, which is a partner of the HHV. Who is unprofessional here? I think it is obvious the Manager on the call I was speaking with from the HHV is the unprofessional one. To call me unprofessional and I don’t work for the company, that is completely wild and unprofessional for the Manager to talk to a Customer that way, while talking bad about one of the partner companies she works with. Keli never took offense to me offering to thank her with a drink, as she actually “lol” in her reply, and that was the end of it, until the Manager just brought it back up today as an excuse to try and end my refund request. There were many other issues with the way the Manager was speaking to me very disrespectfully and trying to manipulate her way through the conversation, but I won’t take up anymore time here to state the obvious. —> This Manager has a control issue and I would imagine her team members even have similar issues with her, challenging her power and other related variables. PLEASE train this Manager, as she needs to treat paying customers and her team better….. (((I am sure there will be a typical reply to this post apologizing and nothing done. The usual response, probably a bot replying the same message to everyone. If you really want to talk this through, which I don’t feel the need, I am in Hawaii still)))

    Rejuvenating stay!

Hilton Hawaiian Village was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad it was! This hotel ‘had it all’ right down to fireworks every Friday night! I didn’t really even have to go off property, except for the excursions I had chosen. This property is literally set up with a ‘city’ all the way around it (from Louis Vuitton to the ABC store!) The beautiful beach is right out in front of the hotel! What more could any vacationer need? My room was clean and spacious! The bathroom was extremely small and there was no place to have a microwave (in my opinion… to cause visitors to have to buy more food instead of eat left-overs.) The bed was very comfortable and the AC was ICE COLD! The balcony was small but for the limited amount of time I spent on it— it was great! There is no on-site laundry but the hotel can send it out —- but prices began at $12.50 per shirt! Hilton Hawaiian Village is located in Waikiki along Duke Kahanamoku Beach. It seemed to be centered in the middle of all things to do & see on Oahu, including the Hale Koa Hotel for Military families. There is NOT a hotel shuttle so we did spend ALOT of money on transportation to and from the excursions. Despite no microwave, expensive laundry service, and no shuttle…. I would still HIGHLY recommend this hotel while in Oahu!

Dont recommend if you want a luxury family holiday

From the robotic impersonal check in experience and monstrous general pop. crowds using the facilities (it was a Sunday, and there seems to be nothing stopping the general public using the pools), to the common area hallways not being cleaned for 3 days on our level, until we called them notifying them there was small amounts of blood on the floor and refuse not cleared up, this hotel has not met my expectations. No complimentary bottles of water in the room or breakfast included - this is a no frills hotel for a high end price $600 USD per night. We have stayed in many luxury and high end places around the world for similar prices and more, and this experience by far represents the least value for money. The location on Waikiki and the view are amazing but at but we will not return, and I will review future Hilton bookings.

    CAUTION: Hilton Honors Okey Doke!

Double-charged at Hampton Inn. Hilton Honors Points are not applied despite providing all our information (reps aren't even confirming Honors!). Can't book adjoining rooms in advance? Thinking Hilton is all cosmetic and zero substance!

Beautiful external property but internally leaves a lot to be addressed

Beautiful property; however, the rooms in the Ali’i Tower are very dated. When is an update to planned? Also, when ask d about multiple concerns, we were given various “excuses” as to why things are the way that they are. Don’t know why the employees seem to not be given any leeway to resolve concerns. “Management”, can you weigh in on this since you are normally the excuse provided?
