Definitely family friendly and maybe not ideal for couples in the summer months

The hospitality was amazing with all the staff as friendly and welcoming everywhere we went across the resort, from restaurants to the pool to the beach. The concierge was very helpful and made reservations for our dinners off site for us. The onsite tour company was very convenient for the boat tour to Stingray City, snorkeling at a beautiful coral reef and checking out the starfish. The tour was excellent, and it was nice to have a small group rather than a huge boat with 50 people. The resort itself is beautiful and very clean everywhere- without exception. Also had some nice touches - It was really hot on some beach days and the team would come by with cold towels and frozen grapes to make it more comfortable. This is a family resort. It’s summer season so I understand that kids are out of school. We seemed to be one of a very few couples here - majority were families. This made the pool and beach a bit noisy with the kids screaming and splashing but I was fine with this! Just wanted to mention it was not necessarily a couples romantic retreat. The one complaint was during Friday night live music in the lounge. We were in there with a nice cocktail in hand ready for some music… Then came a large family gathering with about 8 kids all under age of 6 and the bar with smooth jazz turned into a playground. The kids were literally running around and doing cartwheels, making it difficult for the team to even serve drinks. The parents were ridiculous and I’m disappointed that the Ritz management allowed this to continue. It was 8:30 at night and clearly not the right environment for them. It may make sense to have a minimum age in the lounge after a certain hour?

    Wow! Epic trip!

We came for a family vacation with my 5 year old and 9 year old and we couldn't love it anymore! The grounds were impeccable as well as the pool and beach. What makes this resort stand out is the incredible service and staff around the entire resort. I have never experienced a staff this amazing, kind and accommodating such as this one. Truly a trip to remember and we cant wait to go back!!

    Masterclass in Service and Hospitality

Impossible to be disappointed. The staff and service here is top notch. The entire team goes out of their way to please. The service is so good, you feel humbled and kind of bad you're being treated so well. Everyone here goes way above and beyond. I can't even emphasize how anticipatory and proactive the staff is. So nice, polite and helpful. There are literal superstars here in hospitality: Godfrey, Eva, Ovi, Michael, George, Ernest and many others who's name is escaping me at the moment. During our stay, Hurricane Beryl came through. The management at the Ritz-Carlton were informative, practical and relentlessly communicative. There was not a single question the best place to be on the island was at the hotel. You can tell this was nothing new to them, but still took it very seriously. The hotel was locked down, and by the following day, it was like nothing happened. Hotel was back to its amazing beautiful condition. The restaurants are pretty good, but the service is what makes them shine. The food might not be the greatest you ever had, but the service is. All the restaurants on property are great. The staff makes them exemplary. Example: my tween wanted a strawberry daiquiri at Seven. "Sorry we don't have frozen drinks but hold on..." Two minutes later Edwin and Clive sent one to the St. June bar to bring one over. Small examples of the type of superstars working here. This is my second stay at the hotel and I know it will not be my last.

    Mixed Review

Ritz Carlton did a fantastic job keeping everyone safe through the hurricane… regular updates and strong safety protocol. Many of us could not get off the island and were forced to ride it out. The hotel was the safest place to do that. However the Ritz locked down the entire hotel (which we understood) but kept all the food prices at astronomical rates. The buffet for dinner was $108. For a family of five trying to ride out the hurricane this was incredibly disappointing. Obviously many of staff was sent home the day prior to the hurricane and rooms were not cleaned. Again we understood. When we asked for some compensation due to the hotel operating at less than half staff all they offered was crediting the resort fee for two days and 20% off the breakfast. As a long standing Marriot member I would expect more from a Ritz Carlton. Honestly the food cost should have been at cost or heavily discounted. I hope they revisit their hurricane policy and look to take care of their guests through a very scary situation.
