    Definitely a SUB-PAR property

I’m going to begin by saying that when we arrived at this resort, I knew we had made a mistake in coming here. We are use to better accommodations overall to where our vacation is an experience and couldn’t believe how sub-par this place was. There is absolutely positively nothing GRAND at this resort. I honestly don’t know how it received a 4 because it is really only a 2.5 or 3 at best. The property is sooooo old and outdated from the room bathroom right down to the theater. Even the entrance area where they receive guests was not the cleanest and most certainly not welcoming. Dirty, flat cushions on the chairs, old quadruple layered paint coupled with peeling paint, cracked tile, dirty spots on the floor that no matter how many times they clean the floor it didn’t look like the stains would come out. On so many levels there were a plethora of things wrong, but what was most concerning to me was the fact that the most basic housekeeping needs were not met when it came to servicing our room: Monday —- no pillowcases on pillows Tuesday— no pillowcases and back sliding door was left unlocked by housekeeper (both locks were not closed); room cleaned after 2:30 p.m. (left room at 9:10 a.m.) Wednesday- room not cleaned till 4:45 p.m. (we left the room at 8:30 a.m.) Thursday- no toilet paper put in room Friday- no washcloths given; Saturday- room was NOT cleaned, housekeeper stated there weren’t any towels This is not the kind of service one would expect. In addition to horrible housekeeping service, service in general was not the best. For the most part, the employees were nice, but there were a few who really should not be working in the hospitality industry. The food was just okay. I didn’t have anything that left a lasting impression on me. I was quite disappointed that many of the cultural food items were not as flavorful as they are back at home in the States which leads me to say that the food was definitely for travelers. One would think that curry chicken or a beef patty would taste better where it originated from… There are so many other things that I could go on about, but I have given this place that I will NEVER return to even if it was free too much of my time. For discriminating travelers who know and understand the hospitality industry, know what to expect, appreciate well kept and clean accommodations through and through, this is NOT the place for you.

10 Amazing days at Grand Palladium & Lady Hamilton resort

Sorry if this is long but here goes. Pros: We booked a sea view suite which was worth it. Very spacious with a jacuzzi bath. Top tip download their App you can choose which of the 7 a la carte restaurants to book. Should you experience an issue with no availability the guest relations by reception will book them for you. Our favourite was the seafood in the Lady Hamilton side of the resort the shuttle service is always on hand to take you. The setting is stunning perched over a beautiful beach cove. Special mention to Roberta, he was so considerate & sweet, we were celebrating a special occasion and he went out of his way to arrange a unique surprise. We returned on our last night the food was delicious. We also dinned twice at the Japanese restaurant yummy sushi, the menu also included Thai & other Asian cuisine. We also tried ; Italian, Mexican, Jamaican & Steak House. There’s 2 buffets to choose from we mainly ate breakfast at the Mobay you are always greeted with a smile and the server's are always happy to assist & brought me almond milk with my coffee. The variety and food quality was amazing. The adults only pool again in the Lady Hamilton side, was peaceful in another beautiful setting with steps leading down to another beach cove it’s was almost like having your own private beach with crystal clear water to swim in. Cons: Housekeeping was hit & miss, you are told that the minibar is restocked every day. This is not the case when you ask the staff in the building they say it’s not my area / role. Because we only drink diet drinks I left a note to please replace. When they do come they leave one can only. After 3 days of heavy storms ( not the hotels fault) you need to stay in your room most afternoons but with nothing but water. I called reception after another 2 days of no refills at 5pm and was told he has a lot of errands to run. Our patio door was very difficult to operate and jammed due to faulty runners one evening the door would not close so we had to sleep with it open and of course the A:C shuts down if any doors are open. The building Mgr temporarily put WD40 on it & requested if someone could come back at 9:00 to fix it. We set our alarm to be up & out but upon return no show. More calls to reception. Further checks of housekeeping knocking but walking in when we are sleeping just to see if anyone had been. Would we return yes we would.

A beautiful property with friendly and accommodating staff. The restaurant servers are very helpful and the beach bar is well worth visiting.

The view was the best part!

Too many room issues to list, food was mediocre, and access for disabled is limited or costly. Staff was friendly, except in the gift shop, and the pool guy went out of his way to help me.

    Kids club

My 10 year old daughter joined Kids Club and I can honestly say she loved every minute and enjoyed being with the friendly staff. She joined in most evening shows at night. There’s no pressure how long your child stays for. My daughter choose her times and there was never a problem. They made her feel very welcome! The staff : Clevia Shakira Shaquana Kenicia Tashae Thank you for including our child Dolli she loved every minute!
