Best vacation ever!
This was our first stay at Couples and I can’t say enough about this place!! The staff was amazing as well as the food! The pools not so big, but preferred the beach anyway! Our room was big and spacious and could not get enough of our veranda! Loved having coffee out there every morning with my special visitor I named Murray! Yes, lots of cats that are well taken care of! I am a cat person so that doesn’t bother me. They don’t bother anyone really! I honestly can’t say enough about it and could go one but don’t like long reviews! Can’t wait to return next year! Thank you Couples Resort for a great stay!! 🌴🇯🇲❤️😎
Paradise In Jamaica!
Couples Swept Away in Negril was a dream come true. Food is wonderful, staff is warm and welcoming and the resort offers so many options that it is impossible to not have a great time. Can’t wait to go back!!
Recent stay at CSA
Our recent stay at CSA was absolutely amazing. All the staff was super friendly and helpful in any way needed. The beach space was next to none. The activities offered were splendid. We will be returning.
Great laid back island vacation
First, the beach and water are amazing. We live on a beach in North Carolina and were amazed at how beautiful the water and beach are. We had a slow start...the AC and coffee maker in our room didn’t work at first, but AC was fixed by the next day and they brought us a brand new coffee maker. We enjoyed many of the amenities offered- snorkeling, catamaran sunset cruise, hobie cats, pickle ball, etc. The extras made the cost worth it. The food was ok, maybe not amazing but we found something we liked everywhere we went. The morning coffee and pastries were an excellent to the morning. I will say that if you are a young couple looking for extensive late night parties, this probably isn’t your place. If your past the party point of life but enjoy a few drinks, some activities and relaxing on the beach...it’s a great pick. Also, the sports complex is very impressive if you are active people. It has a bunch of tennis courts and pickle ball courts, squash, racketball, workout room, 1/2 mile track, Olympic pool and a bunch of other things I’m probably forgetting about. I’ve heard people complain about workers not being friendly, but I’d say 90 percent of the workers were great. I apologized to one guy for walking through where he was mopping and he said “no problem, if it never got dirty I wouldn’t have a job”, which was the happy attitude that most people had. One more point, the steel drum band on Wednesday evenings is awesome. They put on a spectacular show. Grab a martini at the Martini bar (another high point) and watch the steel drum band if there on a Wednesday.
Came here after reading tons of rave reviews, seems the hotel has a cult of return visitors... my experience as a vegan was very poor. I emailed them many months in advanced to enquire, they assured me I could meet the head chef and go through what I can eat, and that they will accomodate my needs no problem. The chef did meet us, Simone, who was very personable, likeable and tried her best to help. The chef working in feathers (posh restaurant there) was outstanding and food/experience was great. Unfortunately, I rate this hotel so low because of a number of issues: they have 'vegan' signs for the buffet, but use them very rarely; the majority of serving and kitchen staff have no idea what vegan means; on the last night the head chef Patios (Nicholas I believe) refused to serve us anything and basically sent us on our way after being extremely rude [this was dealt with following a complaint, but ruined our whole evening and we were frankly shocked at his behaviour]. The veggie burger at the 'vegetarian' bar was great but needed to be adjusted to make vegan. The chef there Mario was very friendly, helpful and kind. As were the guys at the sports hut, when they werent asking you to leave them your sliders and tops. Drinks were mostly average, but again some extremely rude staff down at the pool bar. For every bad staff member there are good ones, but there shouldn't be any! Seems the hotel has a problem with recruitment and retention, some openly disrespecting the hotel and guests. The beach is nice but many sandflies. We did a day sway to couples Negril which was probably nicer. The watersports are really good. The room (garden verandah) was dark and dingy, one of the worst things about the hotel stay. Piano bar great fun but you do it once and it loses its appeal, same songs, same crowd. Some great entertainment but few and far between. Do yourself a favour and book down Royalton up the road. Apologies to all the staff like Simone, Mario and Romie (watersports) who try hard to make the hotel a pleasant place, overall leadership and staff training/quality/recruitment/rentention killed it for us.
