We have been at the Planet Hollywood for 5 days. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is a newer hotel so everything is still in great condition. Housekeeping comes around multiple times per day to make up your room, even without being asked. They have someone that comes around each evening to ask if you need anything such as toiletries. The pool area is very lively with music and activities. When you’re by the pool you can easily swim up to one of the bars to get a drink or they have staff walking around that waits on you. Our favorite waiter by far has been Rene. He is so sweet and does everything with a smile on his face. We did the romantic dinner last night and he even waited on us then. He made sure everything was perfect for us and was so attentive. I’d also like to point out that Benny at Guest Services, Adrian the bartender, Ana Maria at the omelette station and Rosa (I believe) at the coffee shop have all given us exceptional customer service. The only thing we have been less than impressed with is the food in the restaurants, however, the buffet is excellent and has a lot of variety. We also did the romantic dinner last night which was personally prepared by a chef that came out to greet us and the food there was the best meal we’ve had for dinner. The fruit offered at the hotel is very good and fresh. We did not upgrade to star class but feel like we have still gotten an amazing experience and great service. We also did the online room selection and picked a room on the 3rd floor. The view is absolutely breathtaking!

When my husband first told me about this trip here in Costa Rica, I was very excited as we have watched house hunters international a lot and Costa Rica was always a place we put on our bucket list but guess what .. WE’RE HERE! From the pick up to the airport , we knew That we were in a Country where the people here that I’ve encountered, truly believe in “Pura Vida” which is what we were told was like Costa Rica’s Hakuna Matata !! This was told to us by this beautiful and stunning property by the lovely Maria who we met today and she was extremely welcoming I think she said she’s in guest services ? She was explaining the property as a very knowledgeable and delightful in speaking with us . We met Maria from Renee ( not sure in spelling )He was one of the first faces we met here on the property when we first arrived , he was leaving he came over to our shuttle and welcomed us to the property and told us he worked at the pool bar we haven’t had him yet as a bartender but the week is young! I hear he’s one of their top bartenders and if his drinks are anything like his beautiful personality and smile we’re in for an amazing drink ! When you first pull up to the property you are driven into this lush , tropical , green grounds . You pull into a beautifully paved drive way and are welcomed by the bellhop who was super sweet and helpful with our bags so no worry there ! The treatment of their guests feels like absolute FAMILIA -Family !! You are treated like royalty anything is at your beck and call . You need help from the front desk talk to Christian (well we checked in late ) he was outstanding in answering all of our questions , we laughed , we joked and this all within the FIRST 5 mins! The Hollywood feel , the Celebrity Experience’! Red Carpet treatment and trust me I have been to red carpet events and you truly feel when you’re here at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica , not only are you a celeb but you’re also always happy here ! I swear I think it’s something in the water but everyone is truly like family as you get to know them during your stay . If you want EXCELLENT service and to see just a beautiful face head to the Tex-mex restaurant you can’t miss Sofia , she is smart , beautiful and very hospitable all evening . Marcos has cooked for us and was also our server he’s very attentive and a great help for us tonight ! If you need to book an excursion you walk right into the PH experience office and today we were helped by the sweetest , smart, and informative lady named Ericka! She was so pleasant we booked a zip-lining tour which is one of many , many activities you can sign up for on property they pick you up and bring you back ! Rooms are cozy and unique very modern design and feel! Thank you to Planet Hollywood Costa Rica for a beautiful start to our DAY 1!! Tomorrow is a FOAM PARTY so I’m super excited about the pool activities !! They have something for everyone! It’s the ultimate vacation. ! Get on a plane immediately and fly to the beautiful Costa Rica Planet Hollywood just get here , they’ll take care of the rest !! Let’s see what else this week will provide because everyday is different here in the lap of luxury ! Bravo Planet Hollywood for your excellent service !
Had a great time at the resort with the family including my 11 and 9 year old kids during our Feb12-19 stay. I would have to say this is the best experience baring one setback that I will discuss later. The resort is approx. 25min. from the airport and is the only one around in the bay inlet where is located. Lots of white faced monkeys, iguanas, birds to be seen on site. If you're alert, in the morning, parrots, howler monkeys can be seen in the nearby wooded areas. We even spotted stingrays by the marinas beach wall! Truly a bio diverse wild life can be seen within the resort. The staff was truly amazing. Right from the morning, Christopher/Ana Maria with the egg station, bartender Byron at the pool bar and countess a-la-cart wait staff especially Jose at the Tex Mex restaurant. Liz at the front desk, thanks for listening! There is a slight language barrier but they did not ignored us but brought people and stayed there to made sure we were not ignored during translation. This is truly amazing effort! The main pool is where most of the action is during the day. The staff engaged us in alot of activities including silent bingo ( bingo with headphones ), pool/beach volleyball, and many other activities. The night entertainment was good. They had some theme nights witch included the dinners. Queen tribute, silent party (again with headphones with multiple DJs to choose from), academy award dinner to name a few. The food maybe the best I have had in an all inclusive. Lots of variety of fruits, smoothie station at breakfast was a high light for me. The Guy's burger spot by the beach and pool had great burgers. They had Italian, Tex Mex, Japanese, Steakhouse, OT sports bar which provided food as well. I would grade the steakhouse being the worst just because the staff was very inattentive. And if you like your meat cook more, make sure you ask to have it cooked at a level higher as the steak came to us rather cook rare and was inconsistent. And to the negative portion of my review. During our stay, 2 major groups came to the resort. After talking to some of the people from part of the group, it turned out to be the same company, honoring respective clients, salespeople from around the US. I have no problem with that. But I had a problem is they took out alot of reservations at a-la-cart restaurants. You make ask whats the problem? Most sat half empty as they corporate company also had special meals sat aside on to of the restaurants. Restaurants are just fillers just in case the people didn't want to eat at the company function dinners. Spoken to other groups not part of that company, we felt like second class citizens. One evening, my wife was interested in an artwork which turned out she couldn't buy because she's was not part of the group. How ridiculous is that!I Lost a prospective sell there! I know management is reading this. Better take care of the " little people " as you know big corporate companies move on. I would also like to point out, people with mobility issue may find this property challenging. Sharp inclines up the hill to the top restaurants and lobby. They have golf carts that come by regularly though. All in all is was a good stay and would probably recommend this resort.
Rene from the pool took the best care of me! I never had to ask for my glass to be filled! Always smiling and the best service:) bar service was amazing ! Beautiful resort . The staff too great care of us.
Third time here!!!
For us to have been here for a third time says a lot about this hotel and it's service. What we love most about it is the high quality service you receive from the staff. I recommend you pay the Star Class Upgrade, this will give you a totally different experience to enjoy. The variety and quality of the food is something that differentiates this hotel. Views are amazing, shows and entertainment go to another level, including a pool party with foam and dj on the Saturday. If you want to receive a personalized, professional and high end service, ask for Alonso and let him be your Star Class concierge. He offers a great service, is always available, willing to help and go the extra mile to do the best he can so your stay will be a memorable one. Fernando, Heriberto and Handsome ("El Guapo" in Spanish) will treat you to a great day in the sun at the exclusive Star Class Pool and wont let your glasses be half full.
