Wow, very pleased with our room #5228! Gorgeous & spacious. It matched the online photos on their website. There is a couch, small table with two chairs, King sized bed, dresser with mirror, flat screen t.v, bed side tables, jacuzzi tub, closet with shelves, a safe, ironing board, hangers, housecoat, slippers, toilet and shower separate from eachother, large sink area with a big mirror, walkout balcony with table and 2 chairs. Our room backed out onto lush bushes. The rooms are not connected to the main lobby etc. They are separated and on their own with a short 4 minute walk. We were very cozy here. The bed could be softer for us but we slept good. There is a mini bar stocked with two Coors light, two Cerveza, two Pepsi, two diet Pepsi, two 7up, & two Mirinda. You are also given bottled water. Everyday they will replenish the fridge for you during daily room service if you drink or remove these. You can also order room service until 11pm for no extra charge. For room service we ordered the spicy chicken wings, margarita pizza, cheesecake and chocolate brownie. We recommend the wings. The Margarita pizza in Mexico is not what you'd expect, it's more of a cheese pizza(no basil to be tasted). The brownie and cheesecake not as sweet as what we're used to in Canada more like a mild sponge cake. For very good pizza go to Portofino, this place was one of our favorites for a la carte. We found there were no wait times in the White Sands Resort for a la carte like there is in the Colonial Resort. White Sands Restaurants(a la carte): Poseidon: Fish & Rice dishes(Never tried it as we don't eat fish or seafood) Bahia E Brasa: Brazilian Steakhouse (Same idea as the Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse in Edmonton)- a variety of cut meats carved at your table Portofino: Pasta & Pizza - Delicious! We ordered the Margarita pizza(mostly like a cheese pizza/no basil that we could see or taste but very good) and Gnocchi(portion was small but SO GOOD). Lola: Traditional Spanish cuisine (Didn't eat here - alot of fish & seafood) Ribs & More: Ribs, Hamburgers, grilled chicken, soup and more. We ordered the onion rings, onion soup, BBQ chicken, and pork ribs. (It was OK, not what we're used to as far as flavours) Buffet in White Sands: La Dalia: Very good variety, beautifully presented. It's awesome how you stay in the Grand Palladium White Sand resort & Spa but you have full access to the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa as well for all of the buffets, bars, pools, activities, a la cartes, shops, etc. There is so much to keep you busy you really don't feel the need to have to leave the resort. We did however catch a bus to Playa del Carmen for 20 pesos per person each way. We went to a Walmart and to some souvenir shops. We also went to Tulum for the day and on a Catamaran Snorkeling adventure. We would definitely stay here again. Staff is excellent, resorts(s) are stunning.
This resort is average at best. The grounds and pools are lovely however the food is mediocre with the exception of the Japanese restaurant which was fabulous. There is a lot of walking however minimal research on this resort will tell you that and I actually enjoyed walking through the grounds. The housekeeping is basic and we were often left with no washcloths or clean towels. The washroom set up lacks any privacy as it is a frosted glass door open at the top and bottom. There are definitely better places to stay in the area
Won’t be our last stay!
We stayed at TRS and the service and experience we exceptional! We needed a vacation away from it all and we wanted the right, relaxing experience where we felt special but had to contribute minimally to the planning. Turns out the all inclusive choice was perfect because we didn’t have to contribute too much financially either to get far beyond what we’d even hoped for. I’ve not even returned home yet and we already booked next year’s trip back. Samuel and Marta were such thoughtful and lovely butlers. They gave our experience a very personal touch.
Wedding-This was my favorite place however, it has become the worst place.
I chose this place to have my daughter's wedding because we had come here twice before. But our experience was awful. So if you stay at Grand Palladium Resort, you will get the worst service. Worst place
Beautiful beach for long walks. Scuba shop on the resort that also had snorkel equipment you could use for free. God reef right off the beach for snorkeling and calm waves for swimming. Loved the boardwalks throughout the resort. Bungalow rooms are on the water (not ocean) and come with a canoe! Huge pools that are well maintained. Many restaurants to choose from for all tastes and good quality food.
