    Absolutely Amazing Service, Rooms & Cocktails

    We came for a weekend getaway from our children. I’m usually not one for all inclusive resorts but a friend of mine had her wedding here and assured me I’d love it. The butler service is amazing. You communicate via whatsapp. We had Christian and Victor and they were on top of anything we needed whenever we needed it. The resort is beautiful. Our room was stunning.... the bathtub is to die for. Very quiet, very romantic and the food was fantastic. Food and premium cocktails usually suffer with an all inclusive but this was not the case at all and we dined at the resort exclusively during our trip. We enjoyed our time so much that before we got on the next plane we had already booked a trip for February to another Zoetry on Isla Mujeres!

    Not worth the money

    I have spent 3 days selecting a resort for my 2-week vacation and based on the photos and advertisement, I chose Zoetry. I wanted to treat myself to two weeks of luxury at CAD 500 per night! As soon as I arrived, I was disappointed with the property and service. My room was not ready when I arrived and I was left sitting around for close to three hours. When I finally asked how much longer I needed to wait, a staff member told me to relax, as I was on vacation. This totally pissed me off, as given that I indeed was on vacation (expensive and limited), I did not want to waste a single minute of it waiting around for hours. Well, that was just the beginning, as waiting continued for everything. All meals were a la carte, so breakfast, lunch and dinner, meant a wait time of easily 4.5 hours/day. Out of 14 days, I have spent over 50 hours waiting for food! I travel alone, so breakfast and lunch should be in and out, so I ordered fruit in the morning through the room service and I ate some lunches on the beach. There are only 2 restaurants and I did not like Kaax for its cheesy decor and bright lights. It left me with the Canoa, which was sometimes full and required 45 min wait. I had to make sure that I showed up for dinner not later than 7:30 pm, which required a serious rush on my end to accomplish that. Food overall was not bad. Canoa had some good dishes for dinner. Being there for two weeks had me eating the same food, especially for lunch. There were no good salads there, which is what I eat the most. Fish was also always the same. As I do not drink a lot, any drink that I ordered was sort of a treat for me. Well, I liked one mohito out of four that I ordered during my stay. Pina Colada and Dirty Monkey were just a sugary slush. What a waste of calories! There was also a very limited selection of wine for dinner that was included. Given that I paid through my nose for this vacation, I really did not feel like paying anything extra. My favourite "meal" was the 5 pm tea "buffet" - little snacks and desserts. There was no evening entertainment on most evenings. I was looking forward to some salsa dancing, but was left disappointed. When traveling alone I experienced two kinds of treatment - either I am given an extra attention because I am on my own, or I am invisible. Sadly, Zoetry overall provided the latter. The good part of this vacation was my room, located right at the end, next to the water. I liked the spa area and the Thallasso outdoor pool (especially when the water was warm). Yoga with a lady from Montreal (a guest instructor) was really good. The regular instructor was less so. On one day, when I arrived for the class, he said: "nobody showed up". This is an example of the "invisibility case", mentioned previously. I had to ask if he could still have a class with me. He agreed. I was also going to treat myself to some spa pampering, but that changed when I saw the price list. The treatments' prices were ridiculous. Beach was small, which I liked. However, the service on the beach was not always good. If it weren't for Eduardo, I would have died of thirst and hunger! At this point I have to mention the tractor! There is seaweed on the beach that is removed by the staff. However, they take it to the next level by making back and forth trips with the tractor to collect it (on some days - all the time!). A couple of these trips in the morning would have been sufficient. Overall the trip was not a total disaster, but definitely not what I was hoping for, for that kind of money.

    Outstanding Resort

    I can't speak highly enough of this resort. It will appeal to older couples who want a slower, quiet experience. The room, the pool the views were all exquisite. The food was beyond outstanding. The pool side service exceeded all my expectations. Staff wander around the pool ready to serve you food and drinks. Special kudos to Juan and Ernesto who made our experience one we'll never forget. Sign us up, we're ready to go back next year!

    Birthday Treat!

    We booked this as a birthday treat for my husband and had a wonderful time. The best thing about this resort is the friendly service. All of the staff went out of their way to make you feel at home - particular mention goes out to Daniel who hosted the cookery classes ( fab! We went to 3 in one week!) and taught us Tai Chi and meditation. If you are by the pool and lucky enough to be in Édouardo’s section you will be very well looked after!

    The best all inclusive resort!

    I was so impressed by this resort - the service was excellent, the ambiance was perfect and the intimate beach area is so serene. My hubby and I felt rested, and relaxed. Kudos to Jorge, our friendly waiter at Kaax, and to Daniel, Ernesto, Manuel and Juan for keeping our drinks on the beach and by the pool coming! Also to the two Franciscos during breakfast, who were always so cordial to us. We will definitely be back! Bix a bel!
