This is our second time visiting Puerto Vallarta and staying at the Fiesta Americana. The resort is beautiful, in a great location and well maintained, the food is pretty decent, the pool is gorgeous and the ocean water is warm and amazing. But what REALLY made our trip this time was the customer service. We rented a Cabana bed (bed #9 and bed #10) facing the ocean for two days of our stay (it's pretty cheap, about $50 USD/day). We were serviced by a young gentleman named Luis. He was amazing and attentive, plus an overall delight to converse with. If you were not sure of the type of services you could recieve or wanted to inquire about resort activities, he would always be willing to find out on our behalf. We were so impressed with his services the first day we rented another Cabana in his section the next day because we knew he would be working. if we were not drinking our drinks quick enough before the sun melted them he would automatically bring us a glass full of ice cubes or a new refreshment. We also recieved a beautiful plate of ceviche, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. On his day off we were serviced by a fellow worker of his named Isamel who was also fantastic! I bought a coconut off a vendor and once I drank the liquid he offered to have it cut in half so I could eat the meat inside. He returned it with limes and seasoning on the side and a spoon to use. Then.... On the day of our departure, we went to grab a quick snack before heading to the airport and the service was very prompt so we would not miss our ride. Not only that, Johnny (our server) had a beautiful plate of treats put together for us with chocolate writing on it stating to have a nice trip home. It was the cherry on top to our trip. We would definitely go back for the service alone. The workers there go the extra mile and deserve all the accolades they can get (and TIPS! don't forget to tip their excellent service if you can).
Really a great find with a few small downsides
We have been to PV a couple times now and to all-inclusives quite a bit so I understand that there are trade-offs. This time we went with a group of 7 - family for Thanksgiving holiday away. The great: staff so nice - Milton the activities director is fun and if you are a "joiner" this is the place to play beach volleyball, learn to make sushi, aqua gym, poker, etc. Also, there were so many nice staff members that really tried to please us - Alfredo was our favorite in the main resturant. The resort is clean, the beach is pretty nice for PV, the pool is warm but not TOO warm, it isn't huge so kids could run around and not get lost, nice nightly activities, the food is better than average for all-inclusive (breakfast and lunch were the best), drinks were tasty and the finally the rooms above average. This resort would be so great IF: rooms were upgraded a bit, room cleaning service and drink delivery was consistent (some days I got new towels shampoo, etc. and water and some days not), hair dryer was missing so I had to request, the bar should let families including children enjoy the enterainment until 10 PM. Get a better beach volleyball net, and 2-3 working ping pong tables so families can hang out. The beauty of this resort is its "throw-back" attitude so management should embrace and increase options. If you want to be close to the action, enjoy a relaxing week away, in a nice clean friendly resort this is a VERY good option.
Relaxing at Fiesta Americana
It was our first experience of Mexico and a all-inclusive resort. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly . Ignasios was super friendly at the pool and his service was exceptional. I would go back at any time.
I stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend. We were a family of 21. We were greeted and taken to our room right away. Our room was tidy and balcony view was amazing. After that it was ok. Fridge was never filled. We asked for our fridge to be filled and it never happened. One time out of the week and they only brought 2 bottles and 2 cans of soda. ONE TIME OF OUR WEEK STAY! Food buffet for breakfast was my favorite. They had a variety and staff was fast and courteous. Shout out to Ignacio (nickname Nacho), Poolside bartender . He was fantastic . He was pleasant to be around. He took very good care of us. He went above and beyond to care for us. Shout out to Miguel Angel the pool cleaner. I saw him early in the morning to late afternoon cleaning and maintaining the pool. The pool was super clean.
I want to say, my stay at the Fiesta Americana was an amazing experience. I want give a big thank you to one of the best pool servers I’ve ever met. Ignacio was top notch very polite and just all around loved his job. We were a group of 21 with 9 of them children. We never waited for anything when Ignacio was on duty. So please find out what side he works on when u visit. You won’t be unhappy.
