Our 40th anniversary was awesome at Dreams Las Mareas!
Our 40th was made complete when a last minute change caused us to boot at the Dreams in Costa Rico. Jose at the adult pool remembered what we wanted and brought drinks and fresh cut fruit. Sergio the concierge made sure we didn't have any issues and took care of reservations. Alejandra was the hostess with the big smile that welcomed us into the restaurants. Esther kept our room clean - we didn't even have an insect in our room; a surprise for a tropical climate. The food and service were amazing and Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful countries we have been to. We will go back! Bill and Becca
We arrived at the hotel in the evening and so we couldn't really see the beauty straight away. We were driven to our room on a little golf cart and the bell boy was very friendly and although he didn't speak great English, he tried really hard and we appreciated it. The hotel complex is in the middle of the jungle and is not a good base if you want to travel around Costa Rica but we just wanted to relax in luxury and the hotel had that in spades. All the staff were friendly in spite of some very rude hotel guests that we witnessed, they were attentive and made sure we were well looked after providing us drinks to our sun loungers and excellent service in all the restaurants. The food was great and plentiful and the drinks were really good. The shop was pretty overpriced but then that's business, they have a captive market. Just make sure you bring essentials with you like medication and sun cream and you'll be fine. Finally, the beauty of the place was just stunning, it took our breath away and that wasn't because it was really hot and humid. Everywhere you looked was just stunning and we had an amazing and relaxing time. We loved it.
I am a preferred member but didn't feel preferred at all. We spent our honeymoon at Secrets Cap Cana and that is where we became members. Since then, we have also visited Dreams Los Cabos. For our 1st anniversary, we chose Dreams Las Mareas. Not the same attention to detail. When we checked in, we were told we were next but that wasnt true, someone went before us. The representative who was to stay and walk us through the process had stepped away. There was no welcome gift. When we got to our room, because we had upgraded, there was no sign on our door celebrating our anniversary. That was Thursday, it is now Sunday, still no sign. No while I love the Unlimited Vacations brand, this was disappointing. If customer service is your hallmark, make it that way EVERYTIME.
Nice resort but not close to much
Stayed at this resort with 9 friends. The rooms were nice. Since the resort was spread out, you could call for the resort “Uber” and a golf cart would come and pick you up anywhere on the resort. The food was good. The Japanese restaurant was extremely cold, so wear sleeves! The staff was friendly, especially the concierges. The pools closer to the trees always had leaves in them. That was aggravating, because it seemed like they couldn’t figure out how to prevent this! We had to ride at least an hour to go to an excursion. We went to a local grocery store and that was at least 30 minutes away. We stayed on the resort the majority of the time, as we didn’t want to spend too much time getting from point A to point B. We were required to take a copy of our passport whenever we left the resort. The sunsets were awesome!
This was a beautiful resort with clean rooms and friendly, hard working staff. Weather was fantastic! The pools were clean with fresh rolled towels by pool side daily. The beach was just a nice stroll away. Food and drinks were delicious. Lots of activities to keep you busy if you choose. The Monkeys were entertaining to say the least.
