    Not for Relaxation

The resort promotes a quite zone but screaming kids and loud partiers are roaming the area and security and staff do nothing. The kids play area is also adjacent to the quite zone? We want through multiple rooms and all the beds were like sleeping on plywood with padding. This is by far the worst beds we have ever tried to sleep on ever! The resort is huge and laid out so it long with little beachfront, because of this there is very little breeze on most of the resort. They do have golf carts to get from one area to another but you often have to wait. I walked an average of 10,000 steps a day with taking the golf carts every time we went to the lobby or restaurants. Only a couple of the pools have a handrail to get in and out with and none of them are in the quite area. The largest area of the resort with Bellinis Beds are on an island that has no bridge. This is the only place we were able to get any rest, that is between the screaming kids and load partiers. The food quality is average and over salted. I would recommend the Rock Cafe no reservation required and the Japanese restaurant was excellent. We did have difficulty getting our three La Carte with only getting them the last three days of our vacation. Would recommend booking your La Carte restaurant a week ahead of time with there app. The resort does have beautiful landscaping and a verity of animal, which we enjoyed everyday. This resort is just doing the bear minimum with staff that just going though the motions. This was our first time at an Iberostar and will be our last. We went on this vacation to relax and recharge the barriers and came home lease relaxed then before we left.

    Awesome Resort !!

We had a group of 10 that stayed here from Feb 4-14. We can't say enough good things about the Del Mar. The resort is huge but if you don't mind walking or taking the frequent golf cart shuttles, it is no problem at all. Our room was spacious, clean and restocked daily including the towel art which was always cool to see. It is 20 min shuttle ride into Playa del Carmen for shopping and the ferry over to Cozumel island. The food at the resort was good/great and the grounds are immaculate with lots of peacocks, coati, flamingos, swans etc. The crepe place was a big hit with our group as well as the shops, disco, and casino. The staff are superb and we always received a friendly greeting no matter what time of day. The lobby was a fun place to hang out and play some cards. Pools were clean and refreshing in the hot sun and we always found chairs on the beach. The only drawback from the beach during our stay was the strong wind we had on every day of our trip. It made for going in the ocean or just hanging out on the beach somewhat uncomfortable, so we always ended up going to the pool which was less windy. I'd also recommend wearing water shoes while in the ocean as some spots were rocky. Room tip: If you can request building 10 it will be well worth your while. It is right on the beach and the access to the pools and the golf cart shuttle is steps away. I have already recommended this resort to friends and family, very impressed.

    Beautiful Resort

I went to the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in February 2020 for a destination wedding and vacation. The wedding was beautiful right on the ocean. I went with a standard room because that is all that was left when I booked, but it would be well worth it for a ocean front suite. You can step right on to the beach from your room. The resort is HUGE. It took me a couple of days to figure everything out. There are golf carts that are constantly running around and giving everyone rides. Shout out to all of the golf cart drivers, but especially to Joe. He was AWESOME. He made our trip SO fun and was always there to pick us up when we needed him. All of the staff was always SO friendly and always had a smile on their face. The food is very good! It is difficult to get reservations to the restaurants, but the buffets are excellent. Thank you to everyone at the Iberostar for making our vacation SO much fun. I was not ready to leave! A few must bring items: a Yeti for the pool, a reusable straw (hotel does not have any straws), & a pool float! Until next time! Ciao Ciao, Mickey Mouse! :)

    Beach Wedding and Vacation

We had an amazing time at the Iberostar Paraíso Del Mar. Just a heads up, this resort is absolutely huge! We definitely got a little turned around for the first couple days before we got a feel for it, but do your research and refer to the grounds/resort map and you’ll be fine. The resort is absolutely beautiful and so is the beach, great rooms, lots of wildlife and critters to see throughout! The food was outstanding, not once was I disappointed. Book reservations for speciality restaurants early if wanting to do so as they fill up quickly. Lots of walking since the grounds are huge, and golf carts to catch a ride if you’d like! Shout out to Joe - Ciao ciao Mickey Mouse! Not only was he a total blast while giving us rides to locations within the resort, but he was also dependable and took great care of us. He is ON IT! He was at the door to our room to help load our luggage on our last day right on time (4:20am!) and to bring us to the lobby to check out. He then insisted on waiting with us until our cab arrived for the ride to the airport and then loaded our luggage into the taxi when they arrived. He was so helpful and so much fun! Although I didn’t know it at the time, I had stayed at this resort many years ago on another vacation and would definitely stay here again!

    Beach Wedding

We had our wedding at Iberostar PDM in February and everything was above our expectations. We visited this resort in 2012 and returned for our wedding because we remembered the food quality being above some of the other resorts we visited and we wanted a large resort with plenty of choices and activities for our guests. Our guest all had a great time, the food was very good , and the resort is very clean and full of peacocks, flamingos and other wild life which made it fun for the 6 kids we had with us. there are plenty of golf carts to transport people around the resort if you do not wish to walk the cocktail hour will be right by the ceremony area and is set up beautifully with a full bar and a table tiered trays of appetizers - it was way more food then we expected we also chose the Rodizio for our reception dinner and it was so good -we selected the chocolate cake that was included and it was beautiful and delicious we chose the violinist and he was amazing -played newer music our officiant was also very good - he had multiple versions of ceremonies and spoke with the groom beforehand to confirm what we were looking for again our guest were all very impressed and everything was above what we were expecting
