    Holiday with a difference

We were staying at this hotel when the nearby munitions dump exploded. A totally terrifying experience for everyone. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. The staff at the hotel have been fantastic, they worked hard looking after us during the night of the explosion, bringing everyone water and towels to keep us warm. They even managed to get the bomb damaged restaurant open for breakfast. All rooms are being repaired as quickly as can be. Don’t be put off by silly negativity- this is a good place. Big thanks to Denise for looking out for the British guests. Apart from that, a great holiday 😁

    Worst Hotel Ever

I'm so shocked to read that other people had a good time at Grand Hotel. My experience was really bad. A week prior staying at Grand Hotel. My family and I had stayed at a AIRB&B. It was the most wonderful experience. Then we came to Grand Hotel 7/29 to 8/7. My biggest mistake ever. My hotel booking was made back in early April 2019 through Expedia. I paid in full(non-refundable). At the time of booking I remember reading other reviews that the hotel was going through remodeling changes. I asked management under( special request section)when booking my room. To please give us a room in top floors and away from construction noise. The building has 24 floors. We were put on the 9th floor in 908. The room next to us was under construction. There was banging on the walls all day long! It seems I was given what I didn't want. I had a side view of the beach. My other full view was of the parking lot. Which was a dumpster ,due to that's where the construction workers were dumping their trash. The bed was so old and wobbly.I found a roach in the bathroom. I asked the front desk to move us to a higher floor. I was denied the request. They wanted me to pay more money. In the past I have stayed at Fiesta Americana, Emporio, and Crowne Plaza for a lot less money. Our stay was always good. Grand Hotel definitely not a good place for us. The pool on the left side was barricaded with wood pieces. Not a pretty sight when you are lounging or swimming. There were people trying to sell us time shares.Heck no! First have a meeting and give the front desk staff a class on customer service. If the customer is uncomfortable. Charging them more money to make them comfortable is not the solution. Never again will I book with Grand Hotel. You lost a family that visits Acapulco yearly!

Excellent customer service - honest, relaible and empathetic

I left my phone in the hotel room in June 2019 and the staff, particularly Elizabeth Garcia, did everything she possibly could to get it back to me. She answered all my emails and phone calls. She was honest, clear and showed exceptional empathy. Eventually, she did advise she could send it via DHL, she left it at another hotel in Aculpulco where a friend was staying (2 weeks later) and my friend brought it back for me. She gave me her time and had my best wishes at heart. The lady is a darling and really helped me. I wasn't sure if I'd even get the phone back but they found it and got it back to me. Thank you Elizabeth -excellent view of the bay -spacious rooms -lovely staff

I have to let everyone know about the wonderful service I received from a great waiter "Roy". He was so kind and helpful in helping us make our food selections. He would make sure we were taken care of for all our meals. I will definitely miss his excellent customer service.
