Wonderful family resort.
We've been to a couple Dreams resorts and this one stands out among them. The property is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and beach (while not swimmable) offers beautiful scenery. There are two primary areas...one family friendly and another for adults only. The adult section is quieter, but still has a nice pool and wet bar. There are several restaurants...one buffet style, french, seafood, 2 beach grills, and an italian place. The food is just ok, with the only exception being the french restaurant (Bordeaux). That place was really good. If you plan to spend some time at the resort, consider venturing out and having more authentic and quality food.
An honest review
This resort is very family oriented. We found that there was always kids running around, jumping, and splashing alot at the main pool. It was not a bad thing nor was it good. But the “tranquility” pool was way too quiet and was more of the older adults. Pool chairs were always taken starting at 12pm; if you want to tan by the pool, you better be up nice and early. But thank god there were staff that would help you look for open chairs and were always willing/go out of their way to help you find umbrellas etc. The bartenders at Sugar reef (one of the pool bars) and the staff at the main lobby bar werent really welcoming which was disappointing. Seaside staff during the day were somewhat rude. ALSO, be careful with the lettuce in the burgers at barefoot: we found many bugs and aphid like insects in it dead and alive. Overall, we got best service at the french restaurant and the italian (both were the best restaurants at the resort too). They also have this cute 24/7 cafe called “cocos” that serve very food beverages. Entertainment did not lack at this resort! Always something happening in the day time and night time. We thought the outdoor movie night was cool. 24/7 room service was decent. We learned that tipping is essential to good service! Room was always clean, fridge always stocked. The only concerns we had were the outdated tubs and lack of service. There were rust forming, and tubs were so small. Service is good but lacks depending where you are in the resort. The skies and sunsets were always so nice. We love how dreams is very central to all the excursions. If you’re looking for something central, family oriented, with clean beaches, spacious rooms and views, go to dreams!
A great all inclusive
We came here on the last leg of a long journey down the Baja peninsula as a way to relax after many activities, which this was perfect for. We did not stay long enough to try any concierge services (we had done day trips for the past week) or the spa. It was satisfying to sit in warmth (the rest of the peninsula was mostly chilly if not downright cold) at this expansive luxury all inclusive. The people who work here make it an especially wonderful place. They really go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and wanting for nothing. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are really nice and the setting is outstanding. The beach is really beautiful, I'm not really sure why its unswimable since it's ok to do SUP and further down people do go into the water. (Perhaps lack of lifeguards?). Either way it's pretty to sit on and look out on the whales passing by in the distance. The pools were clearly the center of the resort, as at most places like this. We were always able to get a lounge chair which is sometimes a problem at other resorts. It gets a little crowded and sometimes it was a little loud. For whatever reason the water itself (nice temp, clear, lovely..) is mostly empty with people tending to congregate near the swim up bar and the infinity edge. The bars, btw, are first class. Any drink you can name, they can make. There are so many great cocktails listed and champagne flows freely. After a trip here, even if only for a few days like us, your liver will need it's own vacation as it's really easy to lose track. The restaurants are nice, we loved Portofino (the Italian place) but we would have loved some more plant-based options. The bath products were high end and not in those annoying single serving bottles that you can't squeeze the liquid out of. This place seems very geared towards Americans and we found no other countries represented in our guest interactions. There were lots of family activities and the children seemed happy and engaged. Another great thing - no wristbands everyone is on the all inclusive plan. It would probably be easy to get caught up in the lazy poolside experience but please leave the resort at some point. We liked it here and would recommend it as long as you also take advantage of all the amazing things this part of Mexico has to offer.
Great time at Dreams!
I spent a week here and really enjoyed my stay. Highlights: -Kids Club! My 4 year old daughter LOVED her time here. Special thanks to Joyce, Valeria and Jazmin. -All servers work so hard and we had some wonderful service at the buffet (all of the breakfast servers are fantastic and would greet my daughter by name in the morning) and enjoyed our time at the French Restaurant with Galo. -They work so hard to put on their events. The Mexican night was so impressive from the outdoor buffet, to the decorations, to the entertainment. We also enjoyed the outdoor movies and popcorn at night. A few disappointments: -The check in process was not so smooth. We had to wait about 30 minutes to check in and when we went to our room realized we were literally the farthest room from anything and at the end of the adult pool. Not great when you have a 4 year old and need to walk 5-10 minutes to get anywhere. When we asked the change rooms, the front desk agent was very rude. So disappointing on your first day of vacation after 10+ hours of travel to get here. When he did move us (the next day) we were closer to everything but in a service hall, so the noise was constant. I slept with noise cancelling ear pods the whole week. -Chairs at the main pool- like many resorts the early bird gets the pool chair. Prepare to wake up early to throw some stuff on a chair if you want one. Or, drop your kids off at the kids club and go to the adult pool! We never had a problem getting a chair there. Overall, I would still stay we enjoyed our time here and would recommend it.
Great experience at Dreams Los Cabos. Would like to recognize some staff members, Juan at preferred club, Fernando at preferred bar, Gabriel at preferred bar, Oscar and Helios member services, special mention to Irvin at Seaside Grill, he was fantastic.
